General Palmer who built the Broadmoor used to house exotic animals there, but when a child got bit by a monkey, he was faced with relocating the animals,.....so he built Chyenne Mountain Zoo. Dude was a legend. You can read more of that story on the Zoo's website if I'm not mistaken.
@@LivingInCOSpringsColorado yeah, born and raised here, went to the zoo about 2 years ago to research for a recreation project I'm doing in a game called Planet Zoo, so during my research I came across that little bit of info and it stuck with me lol.
Last summer we went to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife center (in the mountains a bit *super cool!), and there is a cool free tour in the city of Frisco, and ride a train with the kids in Cripple Creek. Lots of cool history and beautiful drive!
Colorado spring is amazing! I hope the food scene will pick up like Denver. I love looking at the mountains every morning.
Thanks man. We are going to Colorado Springs in a couple weeks and this was helpful.
Of course! Glad it was helpful for ya!

That’s fascinating! I had no idea that was the origins of the Cheyenne mountain Zoo.
