First things first, all of you horsepower junkies clicked the wrong video. This car is the perfect first car/college car. It offers a lot for the price and even checks off a lot of boxes for features that even some $30K+ cars don't have. You are not racing in this car, you are not taking this to the track. This is to get you to point A to point B that has great fuel economy, and that's perfectly fine.

Don't kid yourselves mate you would only have yourself to laugh at if you think that's really the price they will sell at. This is the classic "technically true** (notice the stars) but also not" business ploy Nissian is running to get customers running in through the doors. So let me let you in (and everyone reading) some obvious problems with that price tags.
      1. Dealership won't order you this car for that price (sorry or not but they will fight you on the lot if it means getting it close to $20k by any means)
      2. The one they are using for this marketing ploy to market as "UnDer 16-17k** OmG come now!!" is a manual (aka take a perfectly good pizza and remove 82% of that and throw straight into the trash) if you catch my reference. Oh I'm sorry you wanted 100% of the pizza? ya than make sure to order the xtra large and ofc xtraa costly SV size baby 😎 it will ONLY cost you 1-2k more 😀.
      3. I can't emphasize this point enough if you think a car company is GOING OUT Of their way to produce and sell you a manual in 2024 of all years out of the kindness of their heart knowing they will loss 87% of the strictly automatic driving market. Once again you're playing yourself. No car brand will knowingly making a manual car in 2024 (except luxury or performance cars) they KNOW close to nobody not a single soul will buy a manual and will instinctively goto the automatic "upgrade" for more cost.
      4. There is barely any supply, you're better off buying a 2022-2024 Hyundai Sonota Hybrid at that point

I bought a 2021 for my 16 yr old daughter, and tbh I was blown away by the quality of the Versa. I haven't had a small Japanese "beater" type car since the mid-1990s in college and I didn't expect much more than the same I felt when driving a 1995 Corolla or 2000 Lancer. The 20 year difference in comfort, refinement, and features kind of shocked me. The car was slow of course, but it got 44 mpg hwy and was butter smooth, quiet, handled well, heated seats, sound system better than that in $40K cars, ADAS tech, emergency braking, parking sensors, etc. I mean, unless you need to show off, what more does one need from a day-to-day vehicle? The Sentra is a little bigger, a bit better looking for just another $2K. I honestly would dump all my cars except my sports car and buy a Sentra for me and the wife and save $50K from buying all these "entry luxury" cars I've driven for 20 years. These small cars are that good.

Obviously the base Versa will be more difficult to find than the numerous cvt ones which will be found there well before.. Here in Canada we have to buy the Sentra to hope for the same thing cause here there is no manual Versa but only manual Sentra primarily used in the ''Sentra Cups racing program''....which allows them to be found more quickly totaled.

I always learn about what popular toys and candies from the 80's and 90's can fit in my center console when I watch Raiti's rides! I appreciate you, man. You're just a big kid at heart. And btw, it doesn't matter what nissan does, it will always feel like a rental car to me. But it's nice you can still find something for around 20 grand although I'd go with the ford maverick any day of the week over this.

Very smart post. There are many reasons a buyer will be interested in a simple, affordable, and NEW car, and I think you nailed them all. Considering what it looked like before, I'm actually not mad at this design! I did laugh out loud at the 'ya gotta plan your moves out on the road'. 🤣 Bless its heart, thanks for posting! 🙂

I have a Kicks with the same engine and transmission, and I have no problems getting on the expressway four times a week. In fact, what irritates me is all the cars that think they have a lot of power that switch lanes and cut in front of me, making me step on the brake, so I don't rear-end them. Then they go slower than I was going. I also get 38-48.4 MPG on the expressway.

When I was in high school in the 1960s this Versa would have run circles around 90% of the cars in the student parking lot. Well, there was that one rich kid whose daddy bought him a 64 Pontiac GTO, but that was the exception. People have forgotten all those old V-8 sedans that did 0-60 in15 seconds.

Have I ever kept a car this long or this high in miles??? Not even close on either point, and not even a 2nd thought of what car I would buy when LaShae drives her last mile.

I just bought the basic model Versa. Not an S or SV. Plain Versa. Just got it yesterday 9/14. Not my first Versa. A tree in a storm totaled my first one a 2015. It was a standard shift with phenomenal gas mileage. This 2024 is very nice even though basic. Modern up to date look. Comfortable, didn’t break the bank but most cars are over priced these days. Without all the bells and whistles I still have phone connectivity. Basic model 2024 is good entry level Versa. Don’t let dealers take you for a ride on their fees. First dealer I went to jacked a car up from $18,500.00 to $26,000.00!! Dealer fees! Said those are all Texas state laws. Not so. The only regulation fee is TT&L. All other fees are optional to charge and negotiable. So I negotiated. I made him break it down what I was paying for. Kind of made him mad but he did it. There was a $460 consumer fee added! Really, a consumer fee?! I walked away. That’s like going into the grocery store paying for the groceries and then they say and by the way there’s a $50 consumer fee. That dealer said in all the years I’ve worked here your the first to ask for a breakdown of this. I said why we are financing all this stuff which means the interest is tacked onto that too.

This is an incredible value for under 20k...if you can find one. I recently bought a 2022 Sentra and have been very happy. I bought a brand new Audi over a decade ago and it was nothing but problems, and literally fell apart after the 50k warranty. I won't ever go back to "luxury" cars again. I am beyond that point in my life where I feel I need to impress people I don't know. Great review!

Probably the only safe bet today for a new car. The Nissan S with no options and 5sp (no automatic) will last you 15 to 20yrs for 18k.
That's $1k a year for purchase cost without adding interest...or $1.15k with the loan.
We are in some transitional car era like the 1920s was. It is unlikely that any car you buy today will be common past 2045....that includes Tesla or Prius.
I wouldn't dump more than 25k into any car right now till we see the future....just like buying a Pierce Arrow or Model T in 1924. Both were horribly dated by 1930 and undesired by 1934. You didn't see many 20s cars after 1940 except for Okies holding them together with bailing wire.
The Model T was at least cheap, simple and durable.

I heard Nissans CVT transmissions is the worst in the game and they have a lot of issues.. but I wonder if you do your regular 30,000 mile maintenance on the transmission if your good and won't have issues.. cause I'll be honest I like the car and would be great for a transportation business reasonable price for the vehicle and will be reasonable monthly car payments as well.. not to mention great fuel economy as well..
