  • I replace an 18 year old hose bibb. I solder on a fitting that will allow a simple replacement if need be.

Fantastic tutorial done at just the right speed with great discussion. Only recommendation would be post the links to the kit you used just in case someone isn’t familiar with the various tools and types. It would be an easy way for them to quickly get everything they need to do the repair.

No idea why this showed up in my feed. But you don't need to put Teflon tape if you use a rubber washer in the new hose bib. Both serve the same purpose. I would personally use Teflon over a rubber washer or alternatively a CNAF washer. Rubber does degrade over time, especially if you have a lot of chlorine in the water.

I was just gonna say… my new faucet came without a rubber washer, but I do have white plumbing tape. So do you recommend I buy a washer? If so, what size fits into a 3/4” faucet, is that also 3/4”?

Is MAP gas better than propane? Having trouble getting the solder to melt.

I was told map gas burns hotter than propane so you may have better luck with it
