Thank you. I thought I was going to need a plumber for this but after watching your video I feel confident enough to do this on my own. You were very clear and to the point.
I agree, Hope it works for me.
Thanks for the vid. you had me laughing. you kept looking around like it wasn't your house and you didn't want to get caught. Made me think of a hose bib bandit. Replacing your hose bib wether you want it or not. :)
Hahahahhaha i came to the comments to see if someone thought the same
@@swiftMyDay you guys are funny. I didn't pick up on this at all!

He's looking at the camera.
That's funny!
20 plumbers thumbs down this vid. Now they can't charge a home owner $480 for this quick fix.
Lol that’s right!
Thank you so much. I am not much of a handy-woman, but having this self-help video is so helpful! Thank you so much - going to give this replacement a try!
Great video! I just performed this repair. Identifying the type of hose bibb saved me an additional trips to the big box store on a Sunday. I chose a screw-on 1/2", 1/4 turn replacement valve for my 36 year old sillcock. I did the repair exactly like you did, and finished the repair with mortar in a tube. Thanks!
Thank you for an understandable, precise lesson. Zero stress while changing the hose bib, loved it!
I’m 68 and my son is helping me do plumbing repairs we have 3 to do and two are hose bibs. We got part’s today and tomorrow morning we need to get paste and do the bibs and then shower arm and new shower head, then kitchen faucet! ❤
Thank you for the video. Your tips helped me and my wife replace our front yard bib no problems.
You are the man! Thank you so much for this video. I am no longer nervous about replacing mine.
Awesome how-to video... followed exactly what you said to replace my leaky hose bibb. Thanks!
Just love the fact of how straight to the point and with such great detail .
Thank you man
Thanks for watching!
Straight to the point and very helpful. Thank you!
Interesting idea, using both types of thread sealant; had not thought of that. That hose bib will never leak or be difficult to remove
I’m glad he was able to change the faucet on that random house before the owners came home and caught him screwing with their plumbing!
Nice. Simple but I needed to make sure I did this correctly. I subscribed to your channel and will be reviewing your videos. Thanks!
Great video, good teacher!
Gotta replace two leaking hose bibbs, thanks for this!
Thanks for the video buddy. Now run, you know it ain't your house. 😁
This is a great video, thank you very much. Very helpful.
Very helpful video. Thank you!
Great video! Super helpful! Is there an easy way to determine if my current hose bib is soldered in?
Awesome video. Thanks for doing this how to video.
Thank you for the helpful video!
Very helpful, thank you!

3:20 - you look nervously around 👀 - as if you aren't supposed to be at that building, changing bad, leaky faucets. 😂
Simple and to the point, well done.
Helpfull...Thanks!
great video thank you!
That outro with your hand in the poop toilet water is a true plumber in my book
Thanks for your video!
Thank you. Why replace the hose bib rather than a washer?
thanks for the video very imformative...
Excellent video.
thanks. very good vídeo
Great job
Good detailed videos. I will need to replace mine. Old one keeps spinning and won't shut off.
Thank you for the very straight forward video.
I'm not sure if you check your comments for questions, but what if the pipe coming from the wall doesn't have a nut for the second wrench to grab onto?
Thank you, again.
+contentpackager it will always have something to grab onto like another pipe or fitting. Thanks for watching!
great video...especially about using two wrenches...you pretty much probably saved me from having to calll a plumber from breaking my pipe..
Are there any other sizes other than 1/2" & 3/4"? I was trying to replace my own, but found out I had a compression style bib. Found a 1/2" size bib but it won't thread into the female pipe.
Thank you!
very helpful! thanks
Nice and clear
bro, if your youtubes didn't exist, I couldn't exist.
Do you have a version where the hose bibb is soldered on? The videos on yt make the desoldering process look too easy.
You made that look easy
Very helpful! It looks like I have one of the soldered hose bibs so I'll likely have to call someone. That's not really something I want to mess with on my own.
That was awesome thanks 😊
I have a question I have a 1/2 female hose bib that part of the pipe tread rusted off I am on a budget and I would like to know if there is anyway I could put another one on the pipe it’s still has some thread left Is there anyway I could pull an adapter to add a piece of pipe made out of plastic and pull that part on top of it
What do I need to attach a copper tube to the bib connection sticking out of the house (outside wall)? I don't even know if that made any sense at all. Basically, where my spigot is now, I need to move it about 10 feet away but I don't have a basement or can get to the piping inside the house. I have to attach something to the pipe sticking out of the stucco wall and extend it out to the side. I need to attach a copper pipe to it, bring it down to the ground, 90 degrees turn to the side about 10 feet away, then up a few feet then attach the spigot.
thanks, appreciate.
Excellent
It drives me nuts the difference between northern and southern plumbing problems and fixes. Silly me I kept looking for spigot replacement, apparently that's a northern thing. LOL. Thanks for this, hose bib, hose bib not spigot...I'll probably break something important anyway. :) OH.....how do I figure out what size it is??
New home owner here would my water shut off be all the way in the back yard? Or is this something inside by the kitchen? Thank you!
Thanks 😌
When you say "shut off water to house" do I have to go to outside water main to do this, or can I just shut off the water main in the house? Thanks!
whichever works. just make sure no water gets to where the hose bibb is going to be
Thanks
👍👍
I'll reserve my thumbs up on whether or not I am able to do this. Thanks.
What a douche comment. He showed you how to do it. If you are still unable to that’s YOUR failure
Fuc you Sarah your capabilities shouldn’t trump the fact this video tells you all you need to know. Give this shit a thumbs up, ho!
should u dry thoroughly before applying the white gunk stuff?
Nope no need
Mine is painted so I can’t determine if it’s the first one (female) or the last one soldered on. I can’t get it to unscrew but is that the paint, rust or solder? It’s never easy. 1978 house. Likely original bib.
My son thinks his might be soldiered on...he tried to take off but it wouldn't budge...his house is probably from the 1950s. Do u think that is possible or is it just so old it's crusted on?
Are brass compression couplings and tees used on outdoor copper pipes usually code compliant?
Yes
@@How2Plumb THANKS!!!
I just replaced a hose bib depicted in this video, and it shuts off after 10 secs of use. Any ideas as to the issue?
Can you come to my home replace the valve as you just did
Shut the water to the house off or just close the velve that's behind the wall of the spicket in my basement ??
Very good!
How much would you charge to change this out? Asking because I have a lady needs this done. Seems pretty easy does $30 sound fair,?
Too little
For some reason my hose bib is 1 inch any idea why?
Have you ever heard of a compression style bib in a size smaller than 1/2"? All i can find is 1/2" and its too big. Cant find anything, anywhere!
do you do work in south florida?
No sorry
Straight to the point, at 2:00 you are telling me I dont need to heat it up and only need 2 wrenches?
Also when shutting off the water in the house does that mean all the water in my house willl shut off as well? Toilet, sink... etc?
What about if is pvc
lol what is going on at 1:45
LOL
Thank you so much for sharing your video, this helps me "SAVE" $450.00....Thank you! Thank you!
How do you shut the water to house? Can I not shut water off inside going to actual faucet? Dumb question maybe-
leaky hose bibb
did it ...girl power
Not all of them are screwed on a lot of them are soldered on
Thanks for explaining the fact you need to identify male or female, I was about to head to home depot and didnt even check all I knew was 1/2 inch
at the end there was your hand really inside of poop water?!?!?
I once hired a TH-cam plumber. Horrible, the least to say.
It's not this simple and I'm really glad that I didn't attempt to replace my hose bibs myself based on TH-cam tutorials. It involves cutting drywall if you're on a slab foundation. And remember that the water to the house has to be shut off the entire time.
Just pay the money to get someone who knows what they're doing, so you don't end up with more problems or an emergency, like causing over $1,000 in water damage.
