Thursday: More G-titled movie sins.

Surely this should have been:

Goddamnit, you beat me to it! XD
Just play it at 15x speed
@@steele_heart77 omg I love your username, you should have a blog by the same name
I do love this movie. I watched it probably 100+ times back in the day.
Same here. Watching it right now.
The navigator was hugely popular back when it came out circa 2000. It was really hard to get one. I can see why they had it on the list
Where's the goddamn "Doctor Who is that?" joke for Chris Eccleston?
Eccleston just never gets the love he deserves.
Nah, he pissed off, then talked shit about the actors that came after him. He doesn't get the acknowledgment.
Exactly! Rude!
Or how about "If you don't get me my cars, I will Destro-y you"?
And in fairness, I think he gets more screen time than Angelina Jolie.
You missed the biggest sin when Memphis Raines Memphis Raines jumped Shelby over the bumper2bumper traffic on the bridge.
@Mr.BigBoss7 Watch the behind the scenes from T2, they actually did it. The bomb was cgi the stunt was real. Of course in reality the car landed on a pile of boxes, but impressive none the less.
I was waiting the entire time for that as well. That was worth at least 20 sins.
Not only did it look fake as all hell even on the dvd version there is no way any car like that would make the jump and drive away well very good anyway if it did.
Look up duke of hazard the original tv series they killed thousands of those cars as well
Its evil knievel worthy lol
What about the cop car that gets shoved through a brick wall by a wrecking ball and comes out the other side relatively intact.
Is that a donut media reference? Props
I think they sometimes won’t sin the big movie moments to keep their videos from getting copyrighted claims
"Blues Brothersian Level" is my new favorite descriptor for "insane number of cops involved in movie chase".
Lol I like the sin for the way that Nicholas Cage's actor says s'mores.
"Nicholas Cage's actor" 🤔
I was right. Nicholas Cage is being controlled by an alien demon lizard.
Wait... Do you think that Nicholas Cage is being played by an actor? Because that would explain a lot, actually.
Some mores lol.
Woody: They're called s'mores Buzz.
For a moment I thought it was Everything Wrong with 'Gone' in 60 seconds
I thought it was Everything Gone with Wrong in 60 Seconds...
I think everyone who doesn’t know this movie probably did.
Veronica James Thing was the length of the video wasn’t in the title which is why it was confusing. For example ‘Everything Wrong with Toy Story in 5 minutes’. This was just the movie title and I feel the sly bastards at CinemaSins did that on purpose
Aleksandriax Co okay lil *ion know if ur a miss or a mister* smartie pants.
Veronica James r/woosh
Sins the Eleanor chase for being long. I guess host or anyone in CinemaSins hasn't watched the Original Gone in 60 Seconds. Its Eleanor chase was 40 minutes long.
Exactly this haha
Right on exactly lol nice pete btw
Exactly my thoughts, and with him bashing the coke in the warehouse scene

0-60 in 5 seconds was impressive 20 years ago
It's not that awful now tbf. But there were sub-3-seconds production cars around then so CinemaSins sort of has a point.
@@thesprawl2361 yeah but not naturally aspirated like that porsche
@@tillmen4444 So?
Arguably when car manufacturing was at its very best.
@@thesprawl2361 most cars didn't have forced induction which makes it easier to get higher hp and torque. Doing sub 4 sec with just a stock motor is hard even the Maclean F1 was 3.2 sec and that was a super car
The weird thing about the name Bonanza Jellybean is that the character was played by Rain Phoenix (actress' real name) which isn't that far off from Memphis Raines.
Having worked for a company that rented navigators in 2000 ill tell you every wanna be pimp on earth lined up to rent it.
More so than the Escalade? I wanted an Escalade but I'm white...

Technically they look like her since that movie came out after though, right?
"It never rains but it pours" Is an actual English saying from the area Chris Ecclestone comes from. It means that bad things or news tend to all turn up at once.
He should have known this. It's literally a lyric from "It never rains in Southern California"
That its a common saying from the Manchester area of England wouldn't be known to someone from North America. Nor is it unlikely that they wouldn't know it was a lyric in a song.
In context to the film it's not a sin, as Ecclestone is using his real accent and hence it is something the character might actually say.
In terms of the production it is likely that it was added by Ecclestone not the writers.
@@cbyrne9703 I believe you that it's common in Manchester, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't be known from any other contexts. For an American, I think it is a lot more likely to have heard the song lyric (of a famous American song) before, especially someone from that generation. I'm not from England and know nothing about what's common there to say, but I know the song. It's a classic really
@@melody8923 More likely doesn't actually mean they've heard it, or know the lyrics.
I can be forgiving for people not knowing sayings that are not going to be common where they live or grew up or lyrics to songs.
Just noting that in this case this wasn't actually a sin.
@@cbyrne9703 I know that obviously. It's just such a classic that I have difficulty believing they've never heard it. That's all I was saying, no big deal.
Some dude somewhere who is still driving and loves his 2000 Lincoln Navigator is really really butthurt right now.
Who even drives cars that old?! TeSlA oR nO CaR
0hjaa 3.0 Tesla is overrated.
And plenty of people drive cars that old. Here in America you’ll see a ton of Hondas, Chevys, Fords, and Toyotas from the 90s still on the roads
@@spartanracer It was a joke. I drive a -88 240.
I have the Navigator's sibling and what it's based on, a 97 Ford Expedition with 315k on it. Still running strong after 23 years in the rust belt. They're good trucks.
A first gen navigator would be a hell of an upgrade over my first gen Ford ranger, not everyone is loaded enough to even afford that.
The Lincoln Navigator was the FIRST big luxury SUV. It was the Escalade before the Escalade was a thing. Back then it had major street cred.
Lol you watch Doug demero too 😂😂😂 thats been a known fact sense like 99

Yeah the movie has some issues, but it tries to pay as much homage to the original Gone in 60 Seconds from 1974 as it can. Which was done on a shoe string budget. Plus Eleanor makes the whole movie worth it.
@ K bud.
Now I have to find and watch the 1974 version.
Huh, the original is surprisingly slow-moving. It was just kind of a travelogue of the car theft industry in the 70s.
With the chase scene in the spillway being the cherry on top!
Christopher Eckelston was in this movie and not one Dr. Who call out? Come on CinemaSins.
"Doctor Who is that?" +1

I completely missed that the Dr was the bad guy in this
He has been in a lot of stuff before and after!
eh, I still love this movie lol

Same
Agreed
Angelina looks amazing. Only reason to watch.
I just watched this for the umpteenth time a few days ago. Definitely hasn't aged very well, but damn I still enjoy it. Nothing like the original, but still great in its own right.
A 5.2 0-60 time in the year 2000 was actually pretty impressive.
Vinnie Jones' fight scene should have taken a sin off. Even if it may be cheesy, that part where the guy chokes him and he just turn around with the look of Satan on his face is beyond epic.
Several scenes including the one where the heroin is spilled and blown away by the exhaust when the cop revs up the Cadillac are taken directly from the original 1974 version of this film. It's why they seem incongruous here.
Interesting
Yeah that and a few other minor things are homages to the original
Yes! Also, the $200,000 payout, which seems not worth it in the year 2000, was the same figure from original movie, not adjusted for inflation.
@@ellenjo86324 several of those cars would have been easily worth $100k plus on their own.

Roger Ebert on Gone is 60 Seconds: "This is the kind of movie that plays over the bar in a better movie."
I don't care what they say. Gone in 60 Seconds was an awesome movie, I actually thought it was better than the Fast and the Furious. Nicholas Cage and Angelina Jolie were stellar. I still have the old DVD. Hard to believe it's been 20 years.
Sure this is not that great of a movie, but there is no denying that Eleanor is one of the most beautiful cars ever.
Amen
I know a car named Christine that will kill you if you don't say that about her.
She sure is. I own one!!
Agree, the 1968 Shelby GT500 is the most underrated/under appreciated car. It looks and sounds Badass. When I played The Crew, I wanted to buy a Dodge Challenger but got the Shelby by accident and I didn’t regret it because of how fast it was Stock. I put the double black stripes on it and painted it light grey. It was my dream car ever since.
