  • A brief video unboxing the 32-642Z 4TC from Kernow Model Centre and Bachmann. After placing a pre-order as soon as this model was announced, I was pleased this week when my model arrived. To avoid having to take the unit apart straight away, I had Kernow Model Centre fit a dcc chip for me, prior to delivery.
I am very pleased with the unit - it looks great (just as I remember them) and is well worth the purchase price. I know there is much debate online about the price, but the product is well worth it in my opinion.
I hope you find this video useful and interesting - many thanks for watching.

Thank you. I'd be inclined to buy some more EMU's but I worry about the couplings durability, as they have to go on and off the railway each operating session.

Great looking model. A must have for me! Who supplied the sound for the 33/1, sounds just like prototype.

George Smith - Hi George. The sound is from Howes. Thanks for the comments :-)

Did Howes fit the speaker and sound to the 33?

I'm sorry, but I run it so infrequently, I can't recall.

The 4TC sets were trailing cars, hence the name. They were never self-propelled. They worked with the 4REP powered units between Waterloo and Bournemouth, where the REP was detached and either one or two 4TC sets were coupled to a Class 33, as shown in this video, to be hauled forward to Weymouth and sometimes right through to Weymouth Harbour. The 33 then propelled back top Bournemouth, where the REP was recoupled for the journey back to Waterloo.
They also ran diesel-hauled on some other non-electrified routes.
