Because not everyone watching his videos is at his level
Dunning-Kruger effect. The people chatting are so bad, they have no idea how bad they are. It's likely lots of chat is thinking while watching and experienced/humble enough to know they should stfu about a mate in two if Levy doesn't see one. (Not that it's impossible, but unlikely a thing you should confidently type in chat unless, again, you know nothing.)

Tbh I though 900 guy was good and not cheating until bullet. As a 900 I could've found a couple of the good moves he made but only if I took a few minutes. There's no way he found those moves that quickly

900s are a weird bunch, they either blunder randomly or make good moves. When I was 900 I would analyse games and it could be 95% or just 50% sometimes.

On the "general principles" thing Gotham was talking about, I just think of any "chess rule" as more like guidelines. Some are stricter than others but they're all still just guidelines. We deal with the same thing in software engineering where there are "rules" or whatever, but for the vast majority of those cases, there are sometimes edge cases where those rules don't apply and can be bent or broken. I like the word "guideline" more for stuff like that.
I started watching this channel in 2020 and my rating was 800 and now in 2021 my rating is 1589 in rapid and also in blitz its super cool 1457 and i am also winning my chess tournaments and my coach is also saying woah you are 1550 and it feel 1800+ Thanks A Lot Levy

I am not flexing its true and tip is puzzles and matches higher than your level like if you are a intermediate then see advance level got it ? To learn traps and tricks that they use and also no traps all the time only some bcoz you will get use to traps and will loose all games

When you trap one of your opponent’s pieces you don’t have to take it until he wastes a move trying to free it.
Doing this can make you go from a winning position to a dominant position just by gaining that one extra move

He isn't 900 man. It's a success when 900 rated players don't hang a queen in the first 10 moves. That guy was like 1500, definitely not 900.
@FourCGames I mean, people can play higher than their level. It doesn't necessarily represent their ceiling. Only their average playing strength. So, maybe they are underrated, but I'd completely believe that they are a 900 who played an amazing game

Just think (before every move) what did this piece protect, and what will protect it? As for tactics that your enemy does, you just have to get an eye for those, but it happens. You’ll get there homie.
Just play blitz so blundering does not matter (unless it is mate in one)
Every one blunder even GMs but i have cool trick to minimize it play tactics more!! after a while because you solving 3-5 moves puzzle under 1 min, one move blunder you will spot it super fast for yourself or your opponent.
1. Just trade every piece and turn it into a king and pawn endgame.

Rating is a comparison algorithm, it doesn't work like money. If you're 2000 and beat 1000 you get nothing. If you're 3500 like Nakamura, beating a 3000 gives you just one or two. Nothing more. I'm 1900 btw so I'm confident about my answer.

I think you need to check how his moves are being evaluated if there are more good moves and ok moves than the "book moves, best move" then I am not sure how you will suggest he is cheating.
Having been on the other end for more than once, being accused of cheating I am not sure how you call a person a cheater without a clue as to know if he is really cheating.
As club player myself I am never able to play online chess in the these online community which is so weird and poor mannered.

I am quite sure for person like me with chess rating less than 1100, you would never expect me to do moves like that when you see that on the board you get pissed off.
I don’t think he was cheating because he was still making mistakes and inaccuracies the whole game
@@Ivy_Inquisitor OK "Good" cheaters (which is a contradiction in terms) do not always play the best or book moves. That is a sure way to get caught. They keep the engine running during the game and play the 3rd best, 2nd best, 5th best, etc. and keep themselves in the game. Whether it be to save face, or give themselves a chance, or just ego....I don't know but that player was 10000% not a 900 rated player!!
I have been accused to cheating many times. I do not take it personally bc I don't cheat but some players, esp higher rated players do not like losing to players with lower ratings. And sometimes, whether from better prep or just better play you DO beat higher rated players. And sometimes they call you a cheater. I laugh, say "report me.....good game" and get on with my life.

Hi, I'm French and your way of saying "en passant" is almost perfect (not when you actually try to say it properly, usually the second time, when you actually say "un poisson" which means "a fish").
The final "t" of "en passant" is "muet" (not pronounced at all).

LEVY! Just now I played against a Pirc Defense with the London System. I did it the way you showed in the video and MY GOD. It was insane. Best game I've ever played. I knew exactly what to do, barely took time to think, got 97.9% accuracy and finished with a check mate with 7:30 on my clock in a 10 minute game. Good lord was it awesome. Thank you for showing me this. It was the win that got me to 1100 for the first time!

i'm not sure why ppl have keep talking bout these elo climbs. of course ive been playing chess forever. but I thought thats what the server does when you first make an account. The first few ppl is super easy, then your rating shoots up, then it slows down again. IDK, thats how its always been for me. Like it finds your real strength and adjust accordingly, to give you more neck to neck games.

My thought process during chess:
My move: "What's preventing me from making an attack?"
"What can I do to weaken that defense?"
"Is that even WORTH my effort (is there a stronger, less move costly attack available)?"
"How can I coordinate my pieces to make this a GREAT attack (if I decide to stick with the first idea)?"
And finally, "is there a possible move of theirs that will make me play defense (if there is, I negate that move and play defense immediately)?"
On their move:
"What does that attack?"
"What does it defend?"
"What does it team up with?"
"Are there other moves in the future that will make that move make more sense (like a devastating check that will ruin my coordination)?"

nice deflection at 1:04:21. there are a ton of those in puzzles. they are so common that I now default to looking for sacrificial checks when nothing else looks good. it's either that or sac the queen in some way, beloved theme of all puzzle.
First challenger was doing great and launching what looked like a really dangerous attack, until he wasn't.
Day 30: Of requesting Levy to cover opposite coloured bishop endgames.
Especially when you have a slight material advantage of being up by two or three pawns against your opponent and you both have opposite coloured bishops as well.
Godamn he ignored you he is a noob for sure
Bruh stop, nothing to learn there. Just put your pawns on the opposite color of the enemies bishop, and bring your king into the attack. Once your king takes enemies pawns, then you walk your pass pawns using the king to defend each step of the way.

Since the defending side can easily set up blockades with his king and bishop.
So even if you are two or three pawns up on your opponent, it's difficult to win these type of endgames cuz of this.
Also your opponent more often or not will try to sacrifice his bishop for all of your pawns leaving with you no winning chances.
That's why imo opposite coloured bishop endgames are so difficult to win at.
i mean, i am no expert because im only 1700 rating but i wouldn't consider 3 pawns a slight material advantage, it's a pretty big one lol
@@bakulshah4367 that's why he isn't making a video about. Almost all opposite colored bishop endgames with close to equal material are drawn. If the position is not drawn, then that's because one side just has way more pawns/activity. In which case you just follow other endgame principles. Eg Opposition etc...there's nothing really there to teach.
As a complete beginner, the King, Knight and Bishop vs. King Endgame was absolutely mindblowing and super instructive for me. Thank you for that!

Just wanted to say thanks Levy, for giving your subs lesson, idea through your game and thought process. I started to know chess at age 8, but not really into it. Until know age 25 after i watched queens gambit and start over again to learn chess. I thought i started at 800 on chess.com, now after 2 months+ it raised to 1000+. Thanks once again 👍

This is so fun to watch. I'm around 1100 and I have a mate that's around 2200 who sometimes agrees to play some games against me. I usually see nothing wrong with what I'm doing, try to play solid but then suddenly he has a move I never saw coming and I realize that I lost quite a few moves ago.

I have been studying and playing the Vienna since you posted your video and it is my go to opening with white 1. e4 e5.
This video gave me a light bulb moment in your first game with the e6, b6 opening.
I switched to the Classical Dutch about a month before you posted the Vienna Game and love playing this as black. I play 1. d4 e6. I was always disappointed when someone opened with e4 because then I could not play the Dutch (1. ... e6), I played the Scandinavian. Although not identical, the Vienna and Dutch seem very similar to play (structures and king side attacks).
In game one when I saw how you moved Nge7, it reminded me of one of the Vienna variations and reinforced how I could get my pieces into Vienna/Dutch positions that I love to play. I started playing some non-rated games with this opening and I have had a great time using it.
A lot of times my opponent is thoroughly confused. If the situation allows, I play Dutch/Vienna concepts and get my king-side attack going. Other times, I find my opponent will believe I am playing a French Defense, and then I slap the Rozman French stuff on them. With the play b6 followed by Bb7 it can transpose beautifully into some Rozman French strategies and tactics. Also, I believe it is advantageous to get a queen side fianchetto-ed bishop in the Dutch. This does not happen very often when I play the Classical Dutch (1. d4 e6) because White fianchettoes their king side bishop first.
When I watched some earlier videos and you talked about your e6, b6 system I did not understand why you thought what you thought. You talk about its flexibility and now I get it. I have committed the next couple months to deeper opening study of the Dutch, but when I finish, I will be downloading your course on e6/b6. You have opened my mind and eyes to the possibilities.

1:12:58 that is more or less the 150 Attack in the Pirc Defense. With the only difference being the Bishop on f4 instead of e3. Such a nice weapon against kings indian setups as a london player :)

Sporadic cheating imo. He plays like a 350 rated six year old one minute then morphs into Magnus for a stretch. Pretty obviously using an engine.
