So Samsung just quietly launched this new rectangular watch, and now that I’ve been using it for about two weeks, I actually love it, which makes you wonder, why did Samsung keep this launch so quiet? Also, when I first opened it, I had a ton of questions, like does it run WearOS, how accurate is it, how did Samsung manage to make the battery last 13 days?

ADDITIONAL VIDEO NOTES:
So this is the brand new Samsung Galaxy Fit3. A name that some enthusiasts may recall from their old smart band lineup from several years ago. But unlike the old Galaxy Fit or Fit2, this device actually competes head to head with the Galaxy Watch6 in many regards. It has over 100 tracked activities, it has the full Samsung health app, it has a 1.6” AMOLED display, sleep tracking, weather, media controls, remote shutter, and much more. Oh, and did I mention, it’s only $65?
So let’s start with that question about the operating system. Does this run WearOS?
Well, no. Samsung made their own operating system here which allows for a much longer battery life despite the large display and constant biometric tracking.
Showcase the UI
Movement reminders
Notifications
Almost all apps have notifications
The button really only does one thing
No third party apps though
Basically the core essentials from the Galaxy Watch6 except a few things I’ll highlight in a minute
Now the second question: Why did Samsung choose this design? What is it capable of and what can it not do?
Design tour
Sandblasted aluminum
Barometer
Ambient light sensor
5ATM/IP68
3 colors available
Visibility in daylight
And of course, the third question: How accurate is this device?
Sleep tracking comparison
Heart rate accuracy
Only has connected GPS, not built in
Auto workout tracking
Fall detection
The battery - claimed 13 days but I am realistically seeing about 5-7 with my settings
Lastly, how is this different from the Galaxy Watch6?
Please let me know if you want a full comparison
Price: $65 vs $280
Microphone & speaker - no voice assistant, phone calls, or text dictation, only haptic notifications
Text replies - you cannot type or use emojis. Only quick replies
You cannot see what the camera sees in the remote shutter
No Samsung Pay or other wallet options
No Wifi - relies solely on phone
No advanced health features like ECG or body composition
Non visible infrared sensors
But it can do essentially everything else. Considering a huge majority of my watch usage is just notifications, health tracking, workout tracking, weather, calendar, and music controls, this is a very compelling buy. My only complaint is it does not have GPS. There are other competitors that do have GPS in a small package like this. Big miss on Samsung’s part.
Anyone looking to get their first device, or anyone looking to start getting healthier would appreciate this. It makes a great gift as well, and for non-power users, the longer battery life would be appreciated. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี

What should I compare this to?
Compare it to the Fitbit Charge 6.
Fitbit Luxe and that ilk.
never did Android vs ios and I don't like that because both have pros and cons but brands doing this, first Apple and now Samsung and Google, I want to use Galaxy Buds 2 pro & galaxy Fit 3 but Samsung denying support for ios and I just don't want to use android phone. what crazy stupidity happening and the customers stuck
Please compare to the galaxy watch 4
If you could check the SP02 readings against a dedicated SP02 sensor that would be greatly appreciated! I used both the GW5 and the GF3 for sleep tracking and the SP02 of the GW5 shows lots of very low SP02 readings as night but the GF3 seems to show them in the correct range.
at $65 that's a steal. The watch is very responsive and packed with lots of features. The display is also vibrant.
This is a classic example of what is called a fitness tracker not a smart watch.
You can see time, weather, messages, control spotify, etc. Looks like a smart watch to me. Sounds to me like Watch6 users who spent 5 times as much money for a bulky watch with 1 day battery life are coping.
I believe Samsung have made a Fitbit !
Also called band
I think it's the perfect in-between. Rn I have a $200 Garmin and the only thing that it doesn't better than this watch is the built in gps. I have already purchased this watch and it will be a good replacement
I use it to see the hours, so it's a watch. BTW I'm really enjoy the Fit3
$65 is amazing, 13 day battery as well & proper smartwatch with blood oxygen, like the old Samsung innovation
They are going back to the old samsung. They lost alot of $$ but also have gained so much popularity . This helps
@@loitersquadX i really miss the old Samsung when the tech was fun
This is it right here , a day and a half smartwatch battery is such a deal breaker
Battery life is about 4-6 days.
Well it wasn't very accurate though. according to a thorough tests by quantified scientist. There's better and cheaper options out there for a fitness tracker
@04:58 --> You can customize the button inside the Wearable App, under Advanced Features/Double Press
I just wanted to point this out too
What's great about this watch is that it can be the perfect companion to your Galaxy phone and watch.
If you're at the gym, you can wear it strictly to work out and not have to wear your Galaxy Watch in fear of damaging or getting sweat all over it.
And this is also perfect for sleep tracking as the ergonomics seems much more comfortable to wear and the bonus is you will have a fully charged Galaxy Watch in the morning. Thanks for the review.
I wish they would bring back the curved design of the Gear Fit... So GREAT.
Yes, I agree. I am still using the gear everyday!
Oh God, I used to have one, and I love the curve and square design of it
Just bought one of these. Should be in tomorrow. For the $ it seems like a no brainer device. Basically, a better fitbit for half the price. Its a watch, it can show notifications...I mean that's enough for me. My daily is a Fenix6X Pro, but on days where I want less on my wrist, this will do nicely I think. If these take off, I wouldn't be surprised to see the price rise. Even though it's not technically sold in NA. GPS would be a nice to have...Didn't realize it didn't have it. Battery LIfe is most important to me. I've tried all the Android/Galaxy watches...I can't do the daily charging thing. That's a non starter for me for wearables.
I’ve got multiple Samsung watches best was about 4 days battery without all the options on like constant hr .
Bought an epix gen 2 a Fenix 6 and a instinct for work battery life is where it’s at .
“Basically, a better fitbit for half the price” … “GPS would be a nice thing to have… Didn’t realize it didn’t have it” 🤡
For 100$ you get the Redmi Watch 4 witch is the best in this segment atm…. 😉

Does it have googgle fit sync?
I have Samsungs Pro5 and GW6Classic, but have recently started wearing real watch on my left wrist so have been trying most of the 'leading' fitness trackers (including Charge6). Everyone of these alternative trackers were so frustrating I always ended up returning them and wearing my Samsungs on my right wrist.
This Samsung Fit3 is absolutely perfect, and you sum it up well.
Except.... you miss the speed, both in use and switching on/off. It's incredible, now I can go on 2 week holiday with this as my tracker/msg device and not worry about charge.
The same here. Though for me it's more wanting either proper watch or a full smartwatch on my left wrist and to then always have fitness tracker (and ideally payment and reminder) device on my right.
It sounds great except for the fact that there's no ECG
I always liked their Fit line. Glad to see a new entry. Going to pick one up 👍
I got this at $48 in India on the Samsung Corporate website, the watch is really great for the price it comes at. Display is beautiful and all the function works perfectly.
What's the name of the site?
It feels like a modern day Pebble. I'm interested, I'll have to check it out! Thanks for the review.
I had one of the older Samsung Fits, and the band would always come off from the frame... any issues there?
got mine a couple of weeks ago. so far loving it. just what i need. i don't really fancy the watch with too many features. i just need fitness tracking, sleep tracking, and a few other stuffs. so far satisfied, and it look pretty good too.
why is sleep tracking important !
I absolutely love mine! I have a galaxy 6 classic and have gotten tired of the weight of the watch. However, I'm getting 2 days on the battery. Yes, i have the always on display on and at the brightest. I'm in the habit of charging before going to bed every night so i can deal with it. None the less, i am really enjoying the fit 3.
It seems to have trouble syncing with the app if you do your workout with gps enabled on your phone. Workouts show fine on the app if ypu leave gps off or disble permissions for the wear os app
Yeah all my auto-tracked workouts synced just fine (when my phone was not with me)
Does it support notification from other apps like Gmail? Or other messenger apps like What's App or Kakao?
This honestly reminds me of the Microsoft Band in terms of its capabilities and limitations (needing to be tethered to the phone for the smartwatch features, for example) but that means I might like it a lot because I LOVED my Band and Band 2 at the time. At this price it's definitely worth trying it out! **clicks affiliate link**
I wear 2 galaxy watches, a 4 and a 6. The 4 is while I'm at work and the 6 is while I'm off. I like that I can put 1 device on the charger and the other watch just picks up where the other one left off. Would the Fit also do the same thing (keep the same steps, etc)?
👍Very thorough / comprehensive review ... bravo!👌
Saw this on amazon and was interested. Decided to watch a review on TH-cam and saw yours. I used your affiliate link. Thanks for the video.
This is absolutely perfect for me. Ive used a fitbit versa 2 for years now and could never find the right up/sidegrade. Bought one immediately after this review lol
I had the FIT2 for 4 years, one of the best purchases I ever made!
i am intrigued. i certainly want a bt remote to start, stop, and change songs without having to reach for the phone. the price is ok for the extras it offers from my perspective
I have also had the Fit 3 for about 2 weeks now. The battery was very bad. I maxed out 3/4 days with auto brightness off and screen brightness low. Then I also turned off the heart rate monitor to save battery power. Was still the same.
Something has changed now after longer use. Since my last charge, I have noticed that the battery lasts longer. Today is my 4th day and I am now at 44%. Auto brightness & heart rate monitor still off. Hopefully it will get even better😬
Can you sync this with Google fit?
I don't get it, if you don't need health features, why not just get one of those Casios with step tracking? The battery lasts years.
It's quite normal for any Samsung device to get longer battery life if you wear it for a few weeks, as it learns your routine. That's also why it's stupid if reviewers say the battery life of a Samsung phone is bad without using it for a few weeks
@@m4t7eoprobably because a smart watch is fucking awesome, getting notifications on your wrist is a live changer, not having your phone around but still being able to look at your calendar, using the calculator so many little things that are just a game changer
Mine 5th day still 31%. I got it at 77%. I think I am getting good backup with auto brightness on with daily workouts
I like the size, seems more functional with a longer screen.
Excellent. I just subscribed. Rock on!
Love mine. Use it to track my exercise and sleep and stress. Also use it when riding my motorcycle. Cheap and reliable.😊
Wow only $60... Great price point. Thanks Mike for the review!
Great review, thank you.
Is there an Interval option for running ?
I bought two days ago, the price was really good but little i knew it was a total new device xD so far i'm very happy about it. I also have a galaxy phone which together with the samsung health app shows all the health metrics i need for my normal activity life and sleep quality
6 days battery ? How? I have been getting 3 to 4 days? Was your "Always on display" off? Pls share your settings with your Fit 3.
Mike, very new to your channel but very impressed with your work. Thank you for a thorough honest review.
What does the airplane mode do exactly? Does it disable Bluetooth? Does it keep measuring HR anyway?
Glad others have mentioned the synching issues. I paired with a Pixel 8 and I have been unable to sync workouts even after turning off the GPS. I wouldn't recommend the Fit 3 while synching remains completely broken.
I hope they fix it asap!
I've been wondering if the syncing of workouts not syncing has something to do with people in the US? Had mine for 2 weeks. Absolutely love it but will not sync my cycling workouts at all. Same bug as video post
Update. If you start the workout on your phone it works, and syncs data from the watch sensors. If you want your workout info synced and you want to see metrics on your fit 3, start the workout on both phone and fit 3. Works fine. Just can't start a workout on fit3 and expect working results as of April 10 2024.
A fitbit charge comparison would be great with this device
Love this watch. Im getting it
At 8:45 , I have the same issue that my running result is not able to show on the app. I have to click the "running" button on the app instead in order to see my running result (of course, I have to wear the fit 3 while I run for the heart rate measurement). Hopefully this is just the glich from the Samsung Health and it is able to fix for the next update.
I own this and I love it. I was considering the Watch 6 but I can never get over the 1 day battery. For 60 dollars, it's amazing value since it tells the time, it's a media controller, stopwatch, timer and most importantly, it can help me find my phone. And it never runs out of battery since I just juice it when I shower.
Hey Mike, 1:47 You can start a workout. 9:39 auto workout. On your Fit3 have you started a walk from the Fit3? I am finding that any workout that has the green GPS icon will NOT show in Samsung health on your phone if you start it from the Fit3 itself. Auto workout detection of a Walk or any other GPS icon workout does seem to sync with the App on the Phone. Would you be able to test this?
How the hell did this make it to point of sale if it can't sync workouts between watch and phone?
Seriously. Right now it basically only stores my correct information in the watch.
You can customize the button for multiple clicks in order to open specific apps or tasks
Just bought this watch. I originally bought the 6 classic but returned since the 43mm was small. Was planning to get the 47mm but figured the galaxy 7 is coming in a few months so just bought this temporarily til 7 comes out. Will keep it and use for fitness and if I like the 7, for daily use.
Very similar to the Amazfit Band 7. Best form factor, lightweight and absolute bang for the buck.
compare it with fitbit inspire 3 please? they are close in price range, similar functions, making a good comparison
Thank you! :)
I have the Amazfit Band 7 which looks like the same thing, it doesn't have the quick reply for text message that this one and I want, so will probably pick it up.
After watching this review i bought this watch and love it. I had a galaxy watch 5 before. I can go 8 days without worrying about a charge. thanks for the review!
Please, make more comparison videos! Especially with galaxy watch!
If you could voice reply in texting this would be my go to. I prefer this shape and would like this for working out over the 6 hands down. Good review.
Uhhhhh will this work with other android being a fitness tracker that is not wearOS and developed by samsung 🤔
Ths design reminds of the Gear S, my favorite Samsung watch. Wish they would bring that back.
I really, REALLY, love my fit3
Been looking for where to even get it, it looks like the perfect casual watch
Sounds good. GPS would kill the battery. Does it count laps in the pool? Also, if you go kayaking does the Samsung app map out your trip? I have an old galaxy watch (the 3 I think) and when it syncs it draws my route on the map.
Reminds me of my Gear 2 neo, and fit 2. Like they got together and had a fitness tracker. Not bad at all. Proce is right too.
how good is strenght of vibration during alarm clock?
does it have Vo2max?
I bought a used Galaxy Watch 1 from a friend at about the same price as this watch and, even though it might not get any more updates (it uses Tizen OS), the battery lasts for about 5/6 days and has basically all the features that you mentioned were missing from the Fit 3. Plus my favorite part is the design with the rotating bezel. The only annoying thing is not being able to download apps from the Google Play store
does it have clock only mode, where all others features don't work, but clock & alarm?
Yeah i think so. Just disable other features. Saves battery too.
I am using it for 2 months. On average, every 2 weeks my step counter does not reset the following morning. I then have to reset the watch . Is that normal on these fitness band devices?
What's the compatibility like with other Android devices?
I'm going to wait for the watch 7. Hopefully, the fall detection will work correctly.
5:49 they removed this colour option for this watchface on the galaxy watches since OneUI 4.5. I miss it a lot, that blue and white colour palette
Does the shutter button works with other devices?
This is the same with Huawei Watch Fit, from features to the design
seems like most people dont even know that Hwawei already has this
Yes, I have the Huawei watch fit and when I saw this I was a little surprised. I already have this watch for 2-3 years and it looks exactly the same. The software looks pretty similar, too.
I have the Galaxy Fit2, which has the most basic features (which is technically what I intended when I bought that). This one would be a great upgrade, since the screen allows for a lot more features, which would be useful.
I have 120 euros , what watch would you advice me to buy ?and from what store ? I live in france
And should i take a new one or a renewed
Can it be charged via a wireless charger or from the back of a galaxy phone using wireless power share
Does anyone know if the fit 3 screen has auto-rotate? I wear trackers on my right arm since I'm left-handed and I like the button to be on the left side.
Does it have storage to keep mp3 and play them?
Can we accept or reject a call on the watch like fit 2 do’?
Planning to buy this for both my parents since they're restarting their fitness journey
What an detailed review
I like it I might cop. I need Samsung everything I just switched to the s23 and I'm loving it.
Man i wish this would of released before i bought my galaxy watch 4 last year. I own the Fit 1 and 2 which were perfect for me as a fitness tracker but since they hadnt made in awhile i assumed they discontinued the line and so hence the Watch 4 purchase. I still barely use the smart watch functions of it so i still pick this up as i love the battery life opposed to having to charge my Galaxy watch every night and that price point is great as they have always been
Does it have maps for GPS tracking?
Does it need the phone to work at all or can it work as a standalone watch?
These "fitness trackers" are getting really good that to me they are actually full bloom smart watches with just small screens
I was thinking about getting a 6, but this does most of what I want a watch to do.
A comparison with the huawei band 8 or 9 would be great, also for accuracy of the hr tracker and sleep tracker!
I still wear my _Samsung Fit e_ I paid 30$ for on the launch 5 years ago 😀
I have this watch for around about a month. I love using it. Sometimes it gives me good readings in terms of heart rate and heart rate zones. Sometimes trash readings like this morning while I was working out. It's not an Apple Watch. That gives you way much better readings. Samsung needs to invest in better sensor technology. My Galaxy watch 6 sometimes gives me the same trash readings.
But overall, it's a great fitness tracker that I can highly recommend.
If you turn everything on with ever tracking parameter cranked to max but AOD off it's gonna last 3 days and that's with with sleep tracking and an hour of workout tracking with few notifications here and there. Stress and heart tracking set to continuous. Gps syncing also turned on. So that's the max battery usage for this device.
Wait that looks so similar to Huawei Band 6 released on April 4, 2021.
even the straps, quick-release button, and pogo pins are the same. The only difference is that Huawei has a Blood Oxygen Sensor also it is more affordable than that. It's only for 45 USD when it was released.
i own a a Fit2 and a Watch4 and this looks like a mix tbf
This is what I wanted from samsung, a fitness watch.
Just one problem is that I don't get the watch bands for a lower cost 😢.
Maybe the smart watch 7 should also have a option for a rectangular desifn like the watch fit3
Does it Live track heart rate on screen or just in the background ?
I like to see mine when I look at my watch to see what it is "Live".
live track can enable show on screen
Only $114 delivered to Australia which is super cheap for a Samsung wearable. I've pulled the trigger, and I used your affiliate link. The Galaxy Watch 6 is around $500 for the base model and $600 for the Classic look. I know they have a few mor features but I've been rocking a Fitbit Charge 6 for 6 months and prefer the shape - I had only wished it was better integrated with my Samsung device, and so this looks amazing. Charge 6 has GPS but it's tacky. Big challenge for Samsung will be matching Fitbit's latest sleep and HR tracking but TBH I am happy to make that sacrifice. Best watch I ever owned was an original Galaxy Watch and although it wasnt the most accurate it was the most enjoyable. Can't wait to get my Fit 3 - thanks for the in depth look!
I have the Galaxy watch 5 pro and I absolutely love it. But I play a lot of tennis and I work out. I don't like wearing it to sleep. I bought the Galaxy fit 3 a couple weeks ago and it is absolutely perfect for playing tennis and for sleep tracking. And you can't beat the price point. It syncs perfectly with my Fold 5.
Unfortunately, there are too many syncing bugs that make using the Fit 3 a horrible experience which is a shame because I really liked it. I tried two different Fit 3s and had to send them back because of those aforementioned syncing issues. I went back to using my tandem of my GW5 and Fit 2.
The most important thing, can you change the background to any wallpaper?!?!
Yes😊
Yes😊
Is it better than the xiaomi mi band 8 ?
i just wanna say..there are a lot of smart band from other brand for ages😊
btw xiaomi band 8 pro come with gps and also cheap price tag😊
This a very nice watch, i like it in rose gold ❤
So because it's not wear OS could you connect it to apple?
Sleep tracking is very accurate .Brutal
does it track steps when your phone is not with you?
