This makes me view brazil in such higher regards, a truly devoted people who love what they have and what they can make out of it, kudos to brazil for being awesome.
I was born and raised here, and I can confirm, regardless of the problems we have, we dedicate ourselves a lot to the things we love, it's a cultural issue
As a Brazilian this video made me super happy, thanks for experiencing and sharing a little bit of our culture to everyone! Feel free to come back and experience some more anytime!
Dude this is one of the best videos that Donut has made to date. I love the hell out of this. Going around to different cities checking out the car culture is a great idea! You could do mexico, japan, cuba. This was awesome. Thanks dudes.
Sure!!!! It was already amazing what they've done, but, with more time available, they would Go dipper and get a real glimpse of what the Brazilian scene is. For that reason, they must get a whole chapter for the Mavericks and another for a Marea turbo and it's beloved mischaps...
Honestly this is one of the best donut videos i've seen in recent memory. More like this with Jobe would be amazing. The whole video felt natural and like Zach was very comfortable as a solo host!
Love the video. Also Brazilian car culture reminds me Alot of the car culture in my home country Croatia, not many people in the states know about Croatia but it's on Europe and the golf mk2 and bmw M3 are like the most driven street race cars here as well as Mercedes and civics type r
This was BY FAR one of, if not, the best pieces of Donut content ever. PLEASE do more stuff like this. I'm sure it's very expensive but it was so interesting. I would even love if a trip like this was one really long video or a short series of videos with full on interviews. Almost like a mini docu series. But, again, 10/10 video
The respect Zach showed at 12:42 is the kind of thing that we expect when someone makes a video about our culture, also shows that Zach understood everything he showed us through out the video, as a Brazilian myself I need to say: Thank you so much, this felt like a love letter to our people. Vida longa Donut Media, nós te amamos.
I'm Brazilian and I LOVED this video. No gimmicks, no "Samba de Janeiro", just pure and real car culture. I really would like to see you in Argentina. They are very similar to us, but with cooler imports and things that are very exotic too, like some obscure Dodges. They can be crazier than us, for sure! We love Volkswagens, they love Fiats! Everything we do with our Gols, they do with their Unos!
@@heathcliffhappy2582 nothing bro, its good and the culture of Rio de Janeiro is beutiful too, with the Samba and MPB , but for countrys outside brazil, we are just "Samba de Janeiro", but as u can see in this video, we are more than this and have other cultures too. You just tell when a Brazilian have a passion for something, they go 110% a good example is their diehard fans of sports. Not just football but all sports in general.
It’s awesome how you guys were able to explain how things works here, with all the “problems” that we have, it wasn’t all about cars, but all about culture of cars and people in Brasil, thanks and will be a great pleasure to see you guys again here soon 🚀🚀🚀🚀
Man, thank you for visiting and showing everyone the different cultures and aspects of our country. I really like how it was realistically portrayed in this video without any of the tropes like samba or soccer. Loved seeing this content from my favorite car channel!!
this has already proven to me that brazil is literally the best. despite its issues look how beautiful and self reliant the country and people are. Let alone the car scene. Much love from canada
As a Brazilian I felt extremely happy to see this video. honestly, we all like the American, European and Japanese scenes, but the Brazilian one is a little different. Thank you Donnut Media for showing so much respect and enthusiasm in presenting our humble but beloved culture to the automotive world. Feel welcome to come back any time!
Extamente.
Ethanol not only has a higher octane level, but it also liberates less carbon to the atmosphere than the gasoline AND while plant, sugar cane captures the carbon. So, until several thousand kilometers, it is more ecologically friendly than electrical cars (due to the high pollutant battery production process).
Why isn't this an 1 hour documental???!!! I need moooooreeeee pleaseeeeee!!! I'm from Uruguay, a small country next to Brazil. And I'm pretty familiar with brazilian culture and I love it!
It just shows that car guys are gonna be car guys no matter what part of the world you're in. It's up there with food and alcohol when it comes to things that are universal with humans.
For anyone wondering: The "AP engine" is a VW EA827 with some touches by the Brazilian engineers (mainly 144mm connecting rods instead of the original 136mm ones that came in the MD-270), the AP name came from "Alta Performance" or High Performance in English, and is more of a nickname than the engine model per say. As the guys said, it kinda is our LS, mainly because of the sheer quantity of this things around, but also for the cast iron block and for it's known capacity to handle boost (we joke a lot about the "AP treskilemei", or AP three-BARs-and-a-half).
Brazil is out of this World... From the friendly people, breathtaking scenery, paradise weather and food to die for, all the way to the car scene and readily-available ethanol.... God I miss being there.

I was surprised by this video. Simply incredible. Brazil still has much more to show in motorsport. I was sad how the Fast and Furious franchise told the world what our motorsport is like.

I’m a brazilian living in California for 7 years. This video was so much fun for me to watch, it brought me back home for a few minutes and reminded me how the car scene back home is not necessarily cooler but it has it’s own unique touch. I loved it!

As a Brazilian I deeply appreciate you showing our car culture! It is definitely different from most, especially given the whole independence from other countries. I had literal chills watching this video!!! Keep up, awesome job guys 💪🏼
Honestly, as a fellow American living in the US, I find this really cool. Sure, Brazil works with what's available to them, but that's kind of the whole reason why it's cool. When things are limited, it takes the best ingenuity to get the most out of the supplies at hand. Truly shows the pure genius and passion that people can put into their cars.
A country where a Supra is extremely rare and expansive, but that class differences have at least one good thing: personality (sure, the Brazilian rich guys doesn't have anyone).
So many goosebumps I had watching this video. As a Brazilian living in the US and seeing Donut Media visit my country and talk about the most iconic engines in Brazil!!! Mind blowing 🤯🇧🇷❤️ Thank you so much for this video! You almost made me cry🤓
This is one of your best videos ever - my only complaint is that it's only 14 minutes!!! I would LOVE to see a mini documentary exploring car cultures - take inspiration from MCM's Turbos and Temples series. I would watch every second of a 60-ish minute feature film. Such a good video for the real car fans of Donut. More more more!
We, Brazilians, have had this culture with cars for decades, from putting mothballs in engines and relieving weight, to single turbos, bi-turbos, superchargers and nitro, we have always loved cars and our culture is growing more and more abroad. ,hugs from Brazil and Portugal.
The car culture in Brazil is one of the best in the world because it includes all the cultures of the world in one place... this video showed 1/4 of all the automobile culture in Brazil, I think it deserves a part 2.
Amazing video, thanks for sharing a bit of our car culture. Here we have very eclectic car groups...VW AP fans, GM Straight 6, Mopar and Ford V8, Fiat Fivetechs, JDM...drag racing, drifting, and even offroad....very different car types, but a lot of passion from all of them. In fact, unfortunately we have high taxes, but we do the best we can with what we have...we even manage to import some parts if we need. But thanks for sharing...very cool and accurate details and comparisons.
It's not everyday you see someone make an accurate video about our culture. This video looks and feels 100% right. Also, I must say you guys had the experience of a lifetime tearing through the streets of São Paulo in that Opala Caravan.
So fun to see how impressed you are by cars that I usually don't even care about, but that is because I am used to seeing them, so they just seem too normal to be excited for, but for an outsider, this cars are impressive and very unique!
I'm brazilian and i wish i had been there to see you guys. I was stoked when i saw the video waiting for me on my TH-cam dashboard. You guys did show the important and saddest thing: everything here is HEAVILY taxed. For example when buying a brand new car sometimes allmost 40%-50% of the money you're paying is for taxes. This makes me view brazil in such higher regards, a truly devoted people who love what they have and what they can make out of it, kudos to brazil for being awesome.
"A Brazilian never give up" is our motto here in Brazil, it's part of our culture to be truly devoted to what we love!
I was born and raised here, and I can confirm, regardless of the problems we have, we dedicate ourselves a lot to the things we love, it's a cultural issue
Dude, this is some superb and epic mini documentary. Enjoyed it AF!
Kudos to Brazilians for their car culture.
As a Brazilian this video made me super happy, thanks for experiencing and sharing a little bit of our culture to everyone! Feel free to come back and experience some more anytime!

I was thinking the same thing. Jobe is going to have a pretty sick jobe of traveling the world to experience different car cultures.
Zach killed this video! First great video for a while
This needs to be a series and the episodes need to be at least twice as long!
Love the video. Also Brazilian car culture reminds me Alot of the car culture in my home country Croatia, not many people in the states know about Croatia but it's on Europe and the golf mk2 and bmw M3 are like the most driven street race cars here as well as Mercedes and civics type r

For anyone wondering:
The "AP engine" is a VW EA827 with some touches by the Brazilian engineers (mainly 144mm connecting rods instead of the original 136mm ones that came in the MD-270), the AP name came from "Alta Performance" or High Performance in English, and is more of a nickname than the engine model per say.
As the guys said, it kinda is our LS, mainly because of the sheer quantity of this things around, but also for the cast iron block and for it's known capacity to handle boost (we joke a lot about the "AP treskilemei", or AP three-BARs-and-a-half).
