Thanks a lot for all your builds so far, they are a breath of fresh air and give many ideas for new builds, especially for new archetypes that got added or prestige classes that improved in their mechanics due to recent changes in talents and mythic abilities (I'm looking at you, Corruptor, the Assassin class was pretty much useless without it). It's sometimes difficult to imagine good builds for those archetypes or to integrate and update our builds to implement up to date mechanics so thanks again, and looking forward to the next ones. 👍

@dmsephiroth thanks so much! those are some cool builds, I personally love Skalds as well I even tried Daeran as one because I wanted to try a companion Skald. Greybor definitely isn't bad, if you end up not liking Assassin, try the pure slayer route before you give up on him.
Also, assassin poisons and everything else there require INT for DCs. The only effective build I see here is by utilizing the SMART weapons (Branch of the Last Ash).
yeah I was going for a more thematic build, I believe we have a +11 on our INT modifier though so definitely not horrible. I also did a Bloodseeker build with Deaths Consonant recently, so didn't want to do another right away. thanks for watching!
Regarding gear, I am not sure its realistic to assume the very best gear is going to be funnelled to Greybor. No way are most players giving him the last azlanti belt, for example. Whether its the ring, amulet or belt, that is almost certainly going to MC. There is also no need to stick with dwarven war axes just because he has one feat placed into this. Given dual wielding, you could still get a superior AB using light weapons without weapon focus, and the basic properties and/or itemisation make handaxes, kukris or even daggers better options. Threat range is always superior to crit multiplier in practice. Daggers offer and extra two APR for your offhand and the peacemaker/gravesinger combo is still good even with the recent threat range nerf. The chainmail of camaraderie uses light armour feats even if it requires the medium armour proficiency, because its mithral. Its also another very compelling reason to go with light weapons, not dwarven waraxes. Its far better than life infuser in practice, as whilst life infuser is a better item (not by a country mile from an offensive standpoint), life infuser is incredibly lategame and the offensive benefits of other medium armour in the mean time do not even come close. Chainmail of camaraderie, on the other hand, can be obtained right before you can acquire the first mythic armour feat. It should be noted that light armour assault is WAY better than medium armour assault in most situations, so long as you are using finessable weapons (note, you don't have to be finessing them, they just need to be weapons that are finessable by default). With chainmail of camaraderie, it adds +5 to hit and damage right from the outset, rising to +6 once you cast magic vestment with caster level 20+. The damage bonus of +5 might sound significantly less than 1d6+AC bonus. This bonus does not benefit from the 50% bonus AC from medium armour endurance, though it does benefit from the non mythic armour focus feat, so it will be 1d6+12, or 15.5 damage with Life infuser. However, aside from +5 to hit often being a massive damage increase in practice, whereas medium armour feats do not buff hit at all, the damage bonus on its own is often quite a lot better. The issue with the heavy and medium armour assault feats is that they are physical damage riders, rather than directly increasing the base damage roll. This has two problems. Firstly, its not multiplied on crit. Were this the only issue, it would still average significantly more damage. What really kills it, however, is the fact that it does not benefit from any DR bypass you might have. If, for example, you are fighting a demon and are bypassing the cold iron damage reduction with your attack, whereas the light armour bonus will also bypass that DR, the medium/heavy armour bonus will not. This means if the enemy has 10 DR cold iron, your medium armour damage bonus will be reduced to an average of 5.5 even with +5 breastplate. If the DR is 15, its bonus will be completely negligible and if its 20+, it will never do anything. If your main attack does not bypass DR, the DR will not apply a second time to the physical damage rider, so you will get the full benefit under these circumstances. Also, mark of justice (which is a very finite resource), bracers of slaughter (very lategame also) and bane of spirit (is a pain to use, especially now its a swift, not a free action), will allow you to do full damage. But when factoring in how much earlier you get the best light armour, the fact its +9 in total if flanking when first acquired, multiplied on crit, not subject to DR separately from your main attack all the time AND comes with a huge increase in AB, mythic light armour assault is easily the best option offensively, so long as using finessable weapons is a reasonable option.
@notalefty999 wow appreciate the solid feedback you've helped me learn a lot! Dwarven Waraxes I know aren't the best min-max option. for this build I wanted to try something new and be as thematic as possible, as if I was trying to min-max completely I wouldn't go Assassin at all. also for the gear I was basically just mentioning the best in slot pieces, and then tried to give the best alternatives I could with a couple fun less min-maxed options to. sorry if either of those things turned you off from the bulild, it was good enough to get me through hard but I just don't have the patience for Unfair after finishing it the first time. not sure how I overlooked the Chainmail of Comradery being counted as light, as I just tested Mithral recently for my Camellia build. I'll try to remember to add your suggestion to the written guide instead of Medium assault. I'm definitely am not as knowledgeable as you with all of the math or mechanics, even after 1000+ hours. as such this helped me a ton, & I will use the information you gave me and use it to improve my future builds. thanks so much for watching!
@@actuallyviz No problem, and thanks for taking the feedback in the spirit it was intended :). I appreciate it wasn't meant to be purely min maxed. Personally, I think handaxes still fit him lore wise, particularly given his unique starting weapon is a handaxe and he dual wields.
@notalefty999 of course, I don't do this for money I mainly do it for conversations like these where I can talk with people with similar interests in games. yeah I believe he wields a Hand axe and a Dwarven Waraxe so I chose one and went with it.
I always think of a fun build as being the Blaster Caster Crossblooded, arcane trickster, with the azata path. Would you like to hit everyone in the room twice with 20d6+20+14d6+2d6+mythic level damage using chain lightening? Would you like to sneak attack whenever you feel like it? Want to loot from 30 feet away? Here's the build for you
@@alejandroflores7219 Not so far as I'm aware. I seem to be the only one who thinks arcane trickster is worth it, everyone else thinks Bolster spell is better than adding sneak attack. Of course, the sneak attack applies to any spell you cast, so your cantrips are now d3+1+14d6+2d6+mythic level, even though you can't apply metamagic to them at all.
@Yobolight they buffed it multiple patches in the last few years, though it's still not super great. Slayer is still superior, but you can easily clear up to Hard difficulty with this build & it fits Greybor thematically.

@axeldrane I definitely agree with you, it can get quite cringe! I recently made myself use companions I don't usually use as I want to make a build for each companion. although he did crack me up a bit in the new Dance of Masks DLC, not sure if you've experienced it yet lol

unfortunately not my friend, I was quite busy & in my free time I completed a Baldur's Gate 3 run on the new patch. I do have some good news for you though. when my new video comes out in a few days, I will have a 2nd video done a couple days after so I should have 2 videos in a week instead of 1 video every 1-2 weeks! one will be a BG3 video & 1 will be Pathfinder.
@@nenadpavlovic8405 have you seen the free DLC that came out for Pathfinder? I'm cooking up a build for Defender of the Hearth, a tanky melee build that has a 20 foot Area of Effect & the capstone makes you deal double damage after you are hit.
@actuallyviz saw it, but have not got the chance to play around . I actually have not finished a playtrough 😃 Started multiple ones , to change builds and alignments , but never passed Drezen 😀 But like the coverage very much 🙂
exactly, I was honestly surprised when I saw pretty much no Greybor Assassin builds... only Slayer ones. I understand Assassin isn't very good, but it's also not horrible.
@HiQueenJenn glad you enjoyed it! I'm trying to find a balance between lore friendly or more unique builds, as well as builds that can perform at multiple difficulties. that way I can try to help as many people as possible. thanks for watching!
@dr_foges I just don't enjoy playing Unfair, too much reloading. I'd say since most of my builds are quite powerful on Hard, they would also work on Unfair.
I'll admit I usually leave the guy at home - I like to do an all female run with only the MC as the male. Could probably do it the other way around, but at least two of the men aren't into sex at all; Daerun's Bi and Saucy boi is gay... so if you're playing a girl, you're almost completely out of luck. Unless you like that a lizard, a goat and a man walk into a bar joke A LOT. (I haven't really tried a female MC run) * Problem: Seelah's annoying; Camilia's a psycho, Nenio is absolute cancer (BUT a necessary LORE skill monkey, damn it...) and Ember is a child mind. Yay? Honestly if Wenduag wasn't a spider-cat mutant with maybe 15 years left to live tops... she's best girl. Arue would also take that spot IF she wasn't a chastity belted succubus [Oxy. Moron] whom I also can't really make work well as a melee build. (I really, REALLY hate that they bind you to NOT be able to start each companion from level 1 at respec = you dickheads did it in Pathfinder Kingmaker and it was FINE there...) {Spider Cat, Spider Cat... Does whatever a Spider Cat does... Spins a web? not without turning her into a wizard, Hairy... oh well} ** Bigger Problem: On my last attempted run; for whatever reason after I installed the most current update, the game would crash partway through the cutscene where you get Radiance... so I'm fucked for playing until and unless they FIX that issue. : / - I thought Assassin was considered one of the weakest prestige classes; if not the actual weakest to absolutely useless? (Paladin Seelah level 8 I believe, gives her an aura that extends to the party that negates the benefit of Cold Minded = it does basically the same thing when her other auras are taken into account) ** So Alter Ego gives you three copies. Which may not last that long if you're not playing on Storymode difficulty. = Okay, ANYONE being "immune" to targeted assassination is the Devs being retarded. Bhall himself; the actual God of MURDER, was NOT immune to assassination. Explain to me how some lower level demigod demon, or some lower than that Elite Mook is somehow immune to something that KILLED the God of Murder???
@TheRavenShadowsWolf I usually leave him at home as well, Assassin used to pretty much not work at all but they've fixed a lot of the bugs and made it a bit better. there's a couple Prestige classes I haven't tried so I'm not sure if it's the worst. the only thing we really lose from Slayer to Assassin though is a couple of Slayer Talents and Quarry, which does hurt a little but I had no problem clearing Hard content with Greybor. an all male or all female run does sound pretty cool not gonna lie, I never thought of that. yeah it's definitely weird that anything would be immune to target assassination except maybe ghosts. thanks for watching!

@axeldrane I definitely agree with you, it can get quite cringe! I recently made myself use companions I don't usually use as I want to make a build for each companion. although he did crack me up a bit in the new Dance of Masks DLC, not sure if you've experienced it yet lol
@@actuallyviz I've yet to get the DLCs...the base game itself is so damn long :D there are others i wasn't quite sold on like Daeran ,Arushale and Nenio that i might try later but this guy...never gonna happen :D Looking forward to your other builds though, always interesting to watch.
No new video today ? 😢
unfortunately not my friend, I was quite busy & in my free time I completed a Baldur's Gate 3 run on the new patch. I do have some good news for you though. when my new video comes out in a few days, I will have a 2nd video done a couple days after so I should have 2 videos in a week instead of 1 video every 1-2 weeks! one will be a BG3 video & 1 will be Pathfinder.
@@actuallyviz I was just joking, do it on your pace 😀 Will take a look at both videos 🙂
I actually have not finished a playtrough 😃 Started multiple ones , to change builds and alignments , but never passed Drezen 😀 But like the coverage very much 🙂
Waiting for a couple of more of your companion builds to join my Mad Dog, and then I will finish a playtrough 🤣
The best way to play Greybor:
keep him in Drezen.
lol not gonna lie that's what I usually do but wanted to test Assassin as they've tried a few buffs with some of the patches
Going assassin is more lore accurate
exactly, I was honestly surprised when I saw pretty much no Greybor Assassin builds... only Slayer ones. I understand Assassin isn't very good, but it's also not horrible.
@@actuallyviz True but the class got buff right some patches ago
@@ravinraj4400 yes it has, in fact I believe it's gotten 2-3 buffs at least.
I prefer lore builds over min/max builds, but I dont play on the harder difficulties. Good to see updated lore builds.
@HiQueenJenn glad you enjoyed it! I'm trying to find a balance between lore friendly or more unique builds, as well as builds that can perform at multiple difficulties. that way I can try to help as many people as possible. thanks for watching!
Why not unfair?
@dr_foges I just don't enjoy playing Unfair, too much reloading. I'd say since most of my builds are quite powerful on Hard, they would also work on Unfair.
I'll admit I usually leave the guy at home - I like to do an all female run with only the MC as the male. Could probably do it the other way around, but at least two of the men aren't into sex at all; Daerun's Bi and Saucy boi is gay... so if you're playing a girl, you're almost completely out of luck. Unless you like that a lizard, a goat and a man walk into a bar joke A LOT. (I haven't really tried a female MC run)
* Problem: Seelah's annoying; Camilia's a psycho, Nenio is absolute cancer (BUT a necessary LORE skill monkey, damn it...) and Ember is a child mind. Yay? Honestly if Wenduag wasn't a spider-cat mutant with maybe 15 years left to live tops... she's best girl. Arue would also take that spot IF she wasn't a chastity belted succubus [Oxy. Moron] whom I also can't really make work well as a melee build. (I really, REALLY hate that they bind you to NOT be able to start each companion from level 1 at respec = you dickheads did it in Pathfinder Kingmaker and it was FINE there...) {Spider Cat, Spider Cat... Does whatever a Spider Cat does... Spins a web? not without turning her into a wizard, Hairy... oh well}
** Bigger Problem: On my last attempted run; for whatever reason after I installed the most current update, the game would crash partway through the cutscene where you get Radiance... so I'm fucked for playing until and unless they FIX that issue. : /
- I thought Assassin was considered one of the weakest prestige classes; if not the actual weakest to absolutely useless?
