Idk why they had to go. Personally, i had fun with Fable 3. The others were superior, but it was still a great game. It sucks that we may never get a Fable game again.
Still disappointed that the studio shut down. Wish they would have tied up loose ends with a Fable 4. RIP Lionhead Studios. You will be missed.

+FlareGaming Lionhead had the potential of Bethesda when it released Fable TLC for Xbox. After that it seemed like it slowly went downhill while Bethesda kept improving and made games that we're better and better. If they played their cares differently lionhead could have been much much bigger than it is now.
When did it close down? I wasn't informed.
+Chino Cocoa April 29th 2016 is when they closed. They basically just quit in the middle of making fable legends.
Well they spent upwards of 80 million dollars making Fable Legends when Microsoft was envisioning something much cheaper to work with the free to play model, Microsoft shut the project down :(
Am I the only one who wants to actually see a prequel game?? Like one with darker and stronger creatures than Fable 1 and to actually be able to explore the old kingdom and hopefully fight dragons and learn more about Heroes of the past and Jack of Blades and the Court, and it would be more fable not a cheap version of 14th century sims like fable two and three.
How's this for an idea, you are playing in the Old Kingdom in this prequel game, and you ARE Jack of Blades. You start as a legitimate hero, and you slowly become evil before it is revealed that you (Jack of Blades) are the reason the Old Kingdom crumbled. Provided none of that contradicts the original lore. I hate it when writers/developers retcon original story in favor of what THEY want instead of what's already established. However, if a story point hasn't already been covered, it's free to use.
(an added bonus would be shout outs to equipment or weapons featured in the original Fable game, as well).
Jon D jack of blades wasn't from Albion, he came from the void with the queen and knight of blades to take over the world. He was defeated by William black who put his soul into his mask. But this did make me realize how much fun it would be to play as William Black and go through his whole story line.

You did not mention the fact that once you open all the demon doors around the world in Fable 2, you get to unlock the one at the castle who only opens if you have gotten all the others. The last demon door is like a monument or shrine to some kid who died from what I have heard, and in the background as you look for the chest is a sad sounding melody as well as a book of poetry inside the chest. I do not recall getting anything worth my while and felt only shame of going in, as though reading someone's private diary and I have not opened the demon doors since.

Guys, Fable was a huge success. Fact #7: In North America, it sold 375 copies.

I loved fable 2 and 3, i don't see why people think the ending of Fable 3 was terrible, it was sad, but did leave you hanging about your future which i can see people hate, but i loved the ending :D

It's less the actual ending of the story, and more the ending sequence where everything was determined by how much money you made rather than the choices you'd made along the way that pissed people off. Also, I'll never forgive the final battle sequence because I had made it all the way to that point without dying (beating the game without dying is an achievement), then I got hit by a random piece of falling debris and insta-killed while fighting the darkness.
@@MrCrowley2474 Well, money was needed for those choices. That's the reality of being king.
@@TheGingiGamer I mean, if anything about that game up to that point had suggested money would play a role in the endgame, then it might have been forgivable. As it is, it just means a lot of grinding for gold at the end if you want the good ending. It was bad game design.

Original Fable: Beautiful, first game i ever played when i got my first ever console 10/10
Fable TLC: Just as good as the original, if not better. 10/10
Fable 2: Beautiful and still a childhood memory 10/10
Fable 3: Ruined it. Had nothing to do with previous Fables. Wasn't too bad though, i was just disappointed. 5/10
Fable 4: First Person + Kinect = Horrible. 3/10
Fable Anniversary: Beautiful, like reliving a childhood memory but with better graphics. 10/10
Overall, this is one of the only games i truly connected with. Loved it when i was 7 and i still love it to this day, Now i'm 16

Hey, you forgot Fable Heroes. It was very different but it was still a pretty fun game.

Fable The Lost chapters was my very first game, and I played it nonstop daily, I must have been 9 when I beat the game almost 30 times completely maxed out in strength, magic, and accuracy. I saw this in my recommended feed and almost cried from the nostalgia. Damn I miss that game.
Uh... Farmer Giles might also be a reference to Tolkien's Farmer Giles of Ham. And I vaguely remember a blunderbuss in game being a reference to Farmer Giles of Ham's blunderbuss.

the very first Fable I played was Fable 3, the second was Fable 2, and I still haven't played the first (I know I'm gonna get hate for this, but I loved Fable 3).

I kind of wish they had managed to re-release Fable 2 and 3 on PC (possibly remastered, I don't know) before they shut down. Despite what people say, I absolutely love the Fable games, and would have definitely threw away money on that.
(PC and XBONE, but I say PC because I don't own a XBOX ONE.)

Original Fable is timeless. Fable 2 is decent. I didn't dare try fable 3, reviews too bad. BTW the dig glitch works in the original game, NOT lost chapters. She got her wires crossed.
Daakist What about Fable Anniversary? It's an amazing remastered version of the game and you said the first one is timeless.
Ya I have anniversary but an HD port isnt really worth mentioning.
DanTDFAN 2.0 anniversary was good only if you play on console. To be honest, there were only a couple textures that got improved, but a lot of other things (menu system, mouse support etc. etc.) got left out, making it so much less fun to play than the original Lost Chapters.
You should really give fable 3 a try, I didn't enjoy it at first but then the story got me more into it, though there isn't much too do in the end game if you did most of the side quest.
Daakist I think it's best to actually play the game yourself than rely on reviews which are very mixed rather than all bad. Many people enjoyed the game.

What about the poem in Fable 2 that is a reward for opening all of the demon doors? It was by Marcus Welfare and was put there as a memorial to him. He died at the age of 19 and worked on Fable: The Lost Chapters.

Also about the Guild Master with the "Your Health is Low" in one of the loading screens for Fable 2 a bit of history was shown that the Hero killed the Guild Master and carved into his head "Your Health is Low"

I don't mean to brag but anybody that has played fable 3 there is a way to have high morality and save everyone because I have done it this is what I have done become a five star lute player get every shop in albione sell weapons and clothes you don't want and all gifts play the lute for a couple of minutes I would say fithteen keep every promise except the people's in the dessert but I built the fort for them but that's all I did I had over about 50,000 gold left either I have the best stragity or it was luck but the bad things I did was lower the guard budget destroy the orphanage to get 1,250,000 gold and higher the taxes.
ranger armour, power armour I worked, owned all property, sold a ton of stuff, and I kept every single promise.
Fable is such a good game. It brings so much nostalgia in my soul
Since you brought it up, here's another fact. The line, "Game over, man, it's game over!" delivered so hilariously by Bill Paxton was actually an add lib he had done right off the fly. It wasn't in the original script, it was all Paxton. And yes, it IS a great movie. Cheers.

I mean.. sure the 2nd and 3rd were terrible but the first Fable was great and I thought it was like a game classic! I guess not :(

Eh, Fable 2 was pretty bad. Not as bad as the 3rd game, but it was not that amazing. Weapons all looked the same and barely felt different, clothing had pretty much no effect on the gameplay, all of the awesome guild missiond were taken out and instead we are forced to do regular jobs, and there are waaaay too many glitches that occur. Seriously, my character was bald the ending of my play through since I had brought the hair place before going to the spire. Then the villain is very underwhelming and the game also seems like it tries to erase the original Fable's lore and replace it with something that isn't very interesting.

I actually enjoyed Fable 2 a lot because of the multiplayer and it expanded on a few things with a couple more details, but I thought the 3rd game was garbage. They cut out so many small details that made the first two games great Imo.

microsoft really is a greedy ass company. Lionhead waned to continue to make the games but microsoft didnt want to sell the lisence and loose the profits of fable, so they just shut down lionhead studios :(

Fun fact? In that game (Monkey Island 1), there's only ONE way you could die in the adventure game and that, is not being able to get out of water in time (10min). Many people missed this because the puzzle you have to solve is so easy that it would never take you 10 minutes to figure it out.🤣

Fable TLC was the best. Fable 2 was ok imo, me and my girlfriend loved playing together even tho the multiplayer camera was shitty. Fable 3 sucked so much I couldn't play it more than once
Fable 1 / TLC was absolutely epic , I finished it a lot of times and it was my favourite game since day one .. It was magic, Fable 2 was great! Not as epic but not very far from it, a lot of improvement and not disappointing at all, Fable 3 was disappointing, still a great game but not a legend like the 1 & 2 .. R.I.P Lionhead studio and all these amazing memories :'(

Fact 1: in Fable 2 u can find a chocolate box on the ground of Wraithmarsh region which is a reference to the chocolate box u give to Theresa in Fable 1.
Fact 2: In Fable 2, in bowerlake, there was supposed to be located the Temple of Shadows instead of hill of hell where u go into the old guild cave.
Fact 3: IN Fable 2 again, Oakfield was supposed to be called Ravenscar but they thought it sounded too dark. So they named a place Ravenscar in Fable 3 DLC.

Ha! I love that text in the loading screen. My favorite had to be the one about the Guildmaster's death. About whether or not he was killed. Nobody knows for sure, but he was found with the words "Your health is low" etched into his forehead. 😂
Also, there is an achievement in fable anniversary on the x-box 360 called 'Hero of Time', that you receive for eating a golden carrot to change the time while in Bowerstone. After earning it, part of the description for the achievement would read "Bonus points if you were wearing a green hat.", which is an obvious reference to Zelda Ocarina of Time.

Fact 108, in the original Fable (and subsequently the Lost Chapters/Anniversary) there is a strange glitch that allows you to obtain 2 "extra" weapons by sleeping at Twinblade's camp, the Scimitar and the Bandit Crossbow

I would like to kindly point out that in fact #88 dealing with Monkey Island...yeah, the reference was already there in the Fable series, as far back as the original Fable. If you head to the Bowerstone Cemetary, there is an obvious reference to that line quite near the Capt. J. Sparrow.

That soylent refence is suuuuuuuper clever l. It's made people and the ingredients "very from person to person" sounding like "no one knows" (refencing the whole plot of the film to find out what is in it) but it actually tells you, "it depends on who you put in it" 😜
Adding on to fact 54: an expansion adds an island where you can get Hal's "rifle". it's a 32 round rifle that you can rapid fire with precision aiming, a reference to the assault rifle from Halo 3. The gun, however, is pretty terrible. It doesn't stun, and you can't move when rapid firing it
