@bubblesatemojo ... The wax is 210 degrees and is pretty tough on the brushes.I use the same 4 or 5 brushes for the wax all the time. They are no longer good for watercolor. Also, I put a piece of masking tape around 4 inches up the handle so they rest on the side of the pan and don't fall in.
This is wonderful! I have done Ukrainian eggs in my spare time on and off since I was young. Now I'm learning watercolors. I just used Masking fluid and tried a technique similar to this and used Black as a background color and made a batik-like floral scene that turned out pretty well for a first-time experiment. I can't wait to start my second one tonight. I never thought of trying some of my extra wax Would beeswax work? How about any other kind of paper? I have everything BUT Rice paper.
