    It is so wonderful and relaxing to watch you create - and enjoy the video at normal speed. Thank you so much, Sumiyo, for sharing your gift.

    These batik paintings would look great with transmitted light but would likely need a translucent backing. Could be placed in between window mullions as a sort of stained glass. Very interesting, Sumiyo.

    I saw a tree as soon as you set the paper down, but different than yours. Cool technique. I will try this. Do you ever try to intentionally make the paper take speicific forms? I do watercolor, and sometimes use plastic wrap to creat texture in wet washes. I can kind of manipulate the wrinkles in the saran wrap directionally to form the suggtestions of shapes. Thanks for your work, and for uploading this video!!

    I'm in love with your art! I'm determined to try this. What exactly is washi paper? What texture can you compare it to? Rice paper or something similar?

      Wash paper is a Japanese paper. Very thin and semitransparent. It was glued on a mat board this time. You can glue it on a watercolor paper or some type of thicker paper.

      Anne Williamson anneliesecreates I bought it at a local art store, and I also bought it at Jerrysartarama.com www.jerrysartarama.com/discount-art-supplies/sumi-e-supplies/yasutomo-sumi-e-supplies/yasutomo-hosho-and-kozo-paper.htm

    Curious...why are you using the word 'Batik' to describe these?

  • @MsHotcoles
    @MsHotcoles 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I fail to see how that was similar to batik.
