    Thanks for making this channel/series of videos. I am on day 5 post OP and you videos have helped inform me how mentally and physically committed I must be to get back to my normal lifestyle. Truly inspiring. I know in alot of your videos you talk about diet, what did that look like for you on the road to recovery? Marco/micro nutrients? I would love to know what things helped you heal faster and build your strength/mobility back.
    Thanks!

    Thank you for sharing your journey and your positive attitude. I am 2 1/2 weeks after surgery after a full quadriceps tendon tear and have started my PT guided by my physiotherapist. I am following your recommendations and making good progress. Biggest challenge right now is getting used to being less active compared to 4-5 x workouts in the gym and a very active lifestyle. How did you combine your PT with your gym workouts? When did you start after surgery. My physiotherapist told me that I can work my upper body already now.

    • @ehailey09

      Henrik Stampe Hey, thank you for watching! When I was immobilized I did PT 3 times/day, Stim therapy, and upper body. I did band work, ropes, seated kettlebell work, and body weight. Hi, inspirational site Thank you. I am 9 weeks POS ruptured right patellar tendon and torn meniscus. I am 60 years old, have always been pretty physical and kept my self in good shape. I have good flex at 135 degrees. When did you start walking full time without a brace or sleeve ? I just started on the stationary bike and do good. Would you recommend I use a real bike instead to build my leg up. Can I start with a low weight leg extension in the gym ? I have a hard time figuring out how far to push myself pain wise, how uncomfortable should I get before stopping. I am worried about tearing the tendon again. Finally I wonder if there are any golfers out there that can give me an idea of when I can play again. Thanks to you and everybody for taking the time to answer and comment. Really good stuff on this site that you can't get from your doctor.

    • @ehailey09
      @ehailey09  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Scott Delaney Hey, thank you for your support! I started walking without absolutely any support at around 7-8 weeks. The stationary bike is great and will continue to be enough to build your muscles, and help gain mobility in the knee joint. Light extensions are good as long as there is no grinding. And playing a sport is the final stage. Take your time before getting back into it. Hit me up if you have more questions.

      @@ehailey09 , I appreciate your taking the time. I greatly appreciate your feedback. This injury is one of the hardest things I have ever been through, especially at my age. It's great to see your progress and what is possible with hard work. I am really interested in your pain level throughout recovery. How hard did you push yourself? Was it to the point of being painful or more of a common sense type thing about knowing when to stop or slow down? Also were you ever concerned during your recovery about rupturing your tendon again ? I am unsure about how hard to work my knee.
      Thanks

    Hello everyone, I'm almost 5 week post-op, 2 weeks after the surgery I accidently contracted very hardly my quad with my leg in the air trying to go from an upright to a sitting position and I felt a lot of pain...swelling and my knee was really hot for 9 hours...I was wondering while you were walking during your rehab did you frequently experience like if your patella would want to get of of your knee or like it was dragged up when your quad would contract...I feel that a part of the surgery was ripped by the event I described...and my patella would only be fixed on one side...is it normal to experience this kind of disconfort in your opinion? I am able to do 10-15 leg lifts with my zimmer...but when walking for a prolonged period of time ,(always with my zimmer) I'm begginning to experience this disconforr in the patella...thanks a lot in advance!
