Watching this while I’m getting my vehicle loaded with firewood for the blast. We have an alcohol rehab that sells chunk wood for $30/pickup load. Stay warm!!!!
I have been burning firewood for most of my life I burn a mixture of maple oak ash cherry and yellow birch keeps the house nice and toasty keep warm you too
Right on, I'll see if I can get my hands on some. It's hard to come across hardwoods here in the Rocky Mountains as everything is either aspen or pine. Luckily I have a firewood place nearby who gets wood trucked in from other parts of the country. Picked up some hickory yesterday that came from Missouri, sure do love how hat that burns. Have a great Saturday!
Good to see you are doing well, it was cool meeting you and the pup in Williams at Safeway! I haven't been keeping up but it looks like you are up there in the San Juan's. Beautiful country indeed. Stay safe and hopefully our paths will cross again in the summer. We are up here wintering in Oregon this year. Take care.
I was literally about to type "does Meadow give two fluffs about going in the freezing water?" and then you cut to Meadow standing in freezing water having a drink LOL Dogs are a hilarious species :P Today its been about minus 12F here and my darn dog wants outside EVERY TIME the furnace is on and he runs back and forth barking. I think he is telling me that if he sings and dances he doesn't get cold... but man my feet get cold checking the door every five mins to see if he is going to come back in! I really should put on slippers HAH You're looking great Bryan! It's crazy how I thought you looked great years ago not knowing you had been battling your health when you look so healthy now! I am happy you're able to eat pretty much everything you want to again, finally!!! Putting on some weight (obviously it's mostly muscle based on your physical lifestyle) really looks good on you!! I hope yall are able to figure out the wood and have more than enough to stay warm!
Interesting (to me) i live in Canada. We don't have a woodstove because I always was effected as a kid and now even as an adult when I drive from the smoke from woodstoves. It effects my allergies BAD. Anyway, my neighbour bought like 5 acres off my dad and he uses wood heating and the wind often sends it this direction. His wood smells SOOOO good and doesn't affect my allergies AT ALL. My daughter is friends with him so she asked him what he burns and it's hard woods mainly oak and occasionally even cedar. His smoker for making food doesn't bother me either. It's amazing to be able to know that he is heating his house inexpensively and its not making me need allergy meds or inhalers! Couldn't have got a better neighbour since so many people grab whatever they find for free and it burns dirty, often isn't fully dry etc and would always make me sick. I know the hardwoods are arguably sadder to cut down bc it takes longer to grow, but when you only need to use a few logs for many hours vs a few logs every few hours, it really does balance out as far as cutting trees goes! Plus, this leaves the downed and dessecated wood for bonfires and such which you only need for a couple of hours which ultimately also helps preserve the forests overall!!
I lost you for a while but I'm back. Sorry to hear about Sierra. You gave her a wonderful life though. I'll be catching up. I've had a rough year. Lost my trailer and car😢 mean step parents. I look forward to catching up.❤
Did you camp a lot growing up? I watch you and I watch a guy up in Canada who travels the Canadian Rockies in his truck camper. Both of you are interesting to watch. I also like to watch a guy in MN who camps in his tiny home built camper in northern MN. Fun to watch you guys!
Really? I think it looks pretty good considering all I've put it through over the years! I still have some repairs to make but it's standing up the elements just fine. Absolutely love this shelter.
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures It really has held up well with all the camping you have done in it. It’s been several years since you got it? Surly they can give you a new tent and set you up again. I kind of like old ragged used stuff too! I just haven’t tuned in for a while and love watching when I know a storm is rolling in and noticed it. I wish I was able to get out in my little cabin and hunker down. Love your videos! Stay safe.
Just curious: Why do you prefer the tent to the camper for winter camping? Is it because you can't fire up a wood stove in the camper? I still don't understand how you can stay warm in a tent in winter, but just figured a camper would be warmer. Maybe not, because of the stove.
Now that I have my wall tent for hunting, is that fancy cooler or a refrigerator box I saw you pull something out of right away? I’m definitely interested in knowing what’s best for up to a week alone in one of these tents. Thanks!
Hi Chris, yeah that was a dometic fridge. They are good but overpriced (IMO), you can get comparable quality for half the price on Amazon with ICECO and similar brands. Definitely a game changer for year around camping, you don't have to worry about water logging your food and can turn it into a freezer if you want (temps go down to -4F). Have fun out there in your wall tent!
maybe consider a second channel for those stream type videos. i hear its better for the algorithm to have a second channel for videos that differ a lot from your normal content.

Yeah I think your tent is too big for a guy and a dog. You got too much space to heat. Good luck with reflective IR tarps over head or heating that up with a candle and a hot water bottle. Don't laght I have a 200 dollar safety baknet I think is its own Econ system. Well worth the money.
I completely disagree, a 12'X14' is the perfect size for one person and their dog, plus it's easy to heat with my 4 dog stove. l've had nights in the -30F range and been perfectly comfortable in here.

Hi Brian and Meadow . I can't wait to see how much snow yall get 😊 stay warm out their ❤❤
Happy New Year Brian and hugs to Miss M. I remembered why you stopped using the Big tent...that damn zipper. Lol. Be safe. Love the special clothes.
Yeah, this zipper is still giving me fits but I've found an effective work around!
Nice video! Love your shirt❤maha
Looking forward to more underwater videos. So relaxing!
That is chilly. I live off the west coast of British Columbia and this morning it is 4C which is about 39 F. I love the ice pics that you showed.
Yeah, those formations along the creek are awesome to check out each morning!
Look at that crazy girl go!
Haha, she's been on Cloud 9 ever since we got out in the Big Horn! Safe to say she's in her element :)
Tent looks dialed! Nice shirt btw, maha! Stay warm this coming week.

I love the idea of the fish video!

Promised snow Brian but no show so far no had snow in the Midlands for years Scotland yes

Yes, I've camped ever since I was a little kid. Nothing quite like being in nature all the time!
😂❤ Love watching that silly Meadow. She is so playful. Stay warm. Florida is going to see some 30’s next week. 😢 I don’t like it. 😂 Happy New Year.
Don’t forget your ginger/tumeric/honey shots.
Stay safe buddy
Really like your dog…new to your station….
Thank you for tuning in!
Just put on a chimney log and I’m about to start sawing and cutting. This storm is supposed to be no joke I say bringbit
hello Brian we have a weather warning in the UK expecting 12 inches of snow for saturday evening smoked ham sounds great stay warm both
Youre lucky. I get to have snow like 1 time every 5 years if that
Sounds like a really nice snowstorm! How much snow are you getting at the moment?
I'm in Northern Colorado. I'm not expecting much snow from this storm. We need the moisture so badly for the trees.
Got ready last week....when ya think ya cut enough wood,,,cut that much more. Lol
Dogs is just good people.
Meadow has the zoomies 😂
errrrrrrrryday!
What is that little town that you just showed in this video?

That's a pretty bad situation, you have a storm coming and not ready
Fear not, I still have time to prepare. Be on the lookout for today's update video at 1pm MST.
Tell/show us more about your water purifier
Hi Jerome, that is the MSR Guardian high volume water purifier. This is my second one, absolutely love it.
I would head down south into New Mexico brother
I'll be heading down there in a few weeks, got my eye on some "new to me" winter camping locaitons!
Gosh, you're pumping to fill that amount of water! Why not use a gravity filter...
It's all good, I don't mind doing this. Only takes about a half hour to get 5 gallons purified.

Stove, sleeping bag, dog. All you need other than that is something to keep out the wind.
I just really enjoy being out in the elements. There's nothing quite like winter camping with a wood stove.

Where is this?
Southern Colorado
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures Thank you - good luck with the Arctic freeze! Let's hope it's over-blown...
Hope you and pumpkin Meadow stay warm tonight. Do y have any wool blankets? We get cold in Fla at current temp sometimes at 50 degrees..Ha
Yes, I've got a few wool blankets with us. Love how warm they are!
So fun to watch Meadow. Is she a Malinois?
Hey Brian what’s the name of your nutrition and fitness program?
Hi Chris, it's called "Get Swole" from bodybuilding . com. You can download the PDF file, I really like this workout routine.
Is that Salida?
No, this is a different area.
Is the off-grid property that you have in Arizona?
Yes
Someone has the zoomies!❤
I just got notified ❤
Love your shirt,about being healthy

Lost me when I saw the RFK "Make America Healthy Again" shirt. Sorry. Just, no. Followed for years but I cannot support anyone supporting him.
I think it’s sad identity politics can blind some people from a unifying message of wanting Americans to be healthy and happy.
