interesting points ,if anyone else wants to learn about how to sing properly online try Megarno Super Singer Magician(should be on google have a look ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my cousin got cool results with it.
Idk if this will make sense. But I’ve been scouring the internet to find how people get that 40’s-early 60’s sound. With the more trans-Atlantic accent and the quicker vibrato that’s added at the very end of notes and words. Kinda like Marilyn, Rosemary, Doris etc. this is the closest I could find! Thank you!
This makes complete sense. To be honest, recreating a similar sound has to do with observing mouth shape, tongue placement, and then basically imitating and repetition. We would love to help you discover what this feels like for your voice! I can give you more information on taking a lesson with us if you'd like!
I adore Jazz with every cell of my body and soul. I love their way of singing. Its endlessly creative, so colourful, edgy, smooth, gentle (or hyper:) And jazz singers are a story tellers. Jazz has a soul. A meaning. And its so unpredictable. Ive been longing to start jazz singing lessons for yeeeears now. I hope i can do it one day. When life happens in its most toughest way, your vocals become more flexible. And i can hold my "shaky" voice so much longer. More emotions, more voice. And not everybody can understand it and accept it. But we need to treasure it as much as we can. Love to all of you. *
If you could do, please explain each of them in different videos, your teaching style is very understandable so im like addicted to your videos and thank you
This helped me so much. My director has been getting very frustrated with me because I'm not good at singing jazz and this video helped me tremendously
One of the best singing lessons I have ever seen in my 12 years of singing. You explain everything so simply and you sound absolutely amazing while doing it, it's clear how your tips help to achieve that amazing sound
Singing jazz is about a lot more than just having a certain "sound" to one's voice. Certainly, the way one sings for musical theatre, choir, or pop isn't going to be appropriate. But really singing jazz is about being a Jazz Musician; knowing the idiom, the history, the material, the music, feel, and rhythmic sensibilities required. As well as being able to improvise, both alone and with the other musicians. This is a nice video for how to "sing in a jazz style", but there is a lot more than she is able to cover here. There are jazz singers with fast vibrator, and bright, clear tones, or light and breathy voices. There are all kinds of voice, because it's not about the voice, it's about the music.
Sophie, you are a fantastic vocal coach. I'm a hard rock singer & I took about 5 vocal lessons before my coach was injured, no longer able to teach. Your warm up ups teach the foundations plus tons of wonderful tips !!! Also, people may think that imitating these artists, right down to their facial expressions (is silly) but it is where their voice will become committed to the original empathy of the artist & is sooooo important. Then & only then, can a vocalist put their own spin, groove & raw emotion into the meaning of the lyrics. I can't promote practicing, rehearsal, enough. When my band & I are terrified to go out, I thank God above that we have it so well practised that I go on "rote". Helping my boss complete some original songs, she wanted to play a set in a pub. I nervously told her that we were not ready. She really blasted me saying that I was a downer, effecting her confidence.. Being the idiot I was back then, I turned off my neg vibes ( she was a psychic, or so she though, lol, & played on stage with her the next night. She absolutely tanked. It was so horrible, I took over as she reached for the tambourine. Afterwards she told me that I was a musician not her.
I'm looking to get into the world of jazz I love the frank Sinatra style can you give me some tips on how to achieve those sort of results I've never taking lessons before
This is great! I think one very base factor is to be a good actor at first. To sing jazz, you have to have a good grasp of comedy and tragedy, and everything in between.
That was amazing and so easy to follow! Thank you for showing each progression one at a time so that i could see the progress from normal singing to jazz! Beautifully done! So helpful🥰
Great tips! One of my biggest struggles in singing jazz is accurately singing notes that aren't in the underlying chords, especially if there's a leap to them. Any good ways to get better at this?
lesson learned...don't judge video by views. the best jazz tips so far

1. Slow moving vibrato.
2. Use edginess.
3. Add your unique pronunciations - experience and have fun with this.
4. Add husky tone.

That “extreme” old lady baby voice you did was genius 👌🏾. You explain this superbly. I love hearing the different characters of your voice as well.
Thanks Tyler!
Omg the moodiness/ way weird technique at 2.48 is absolutely mesmerising!!
Suits your voice! Would be lovely to hear that in full version :)
First thought, she ain't all that. All of a sudden she modifies into jazz style and I am like, holy crap, that woman has her pipes sorted out!
you're judgy and it's on you

Wilson exactly! It's more the style than the sound... Does it swing or not? That is the question...
Wow your voice completely transformed multiple times in just a few minutes
LOL We regularly see our students have vocal breakthroughs in a matter of minutes!
This video is one of the best teaching videos for someone who wants to learn jazz and from a different background music

good sfuff hun. I wonder if dropping the key a little might drive that huskier edge to the edge ... you have a fabulous instrument.
