Awesome!! You're a rare newbie to the RE4 experience, my favorite lol One change I like is that they gave Leon PTSD. It's very normal for a person who went through THAT to have mental trauma

I think they also say "bring us to paradise/heaven". Also at 7:38 I think you missed a chance to rotate the bloody stake. If you did it would say "se acerca el juicio" which means "judgement is coming" [juicio could also be "a trial" like in law, but I think it's judgement since that's used for "final reckoning" or "judgement day" in a lot of Biblical and apocalyptic stuff]. The man you first meet is repeating a lot of the same lines you see on the walls - "protect our souls from the weak one that tries to destroy us, we will not fear, we will live together with you forever", things like that
40:45 Those chickens seem to be generating eggs via the process of laying. I wonder if you could cheese this by waiting around for half an our or sth and start out with a full inventory of eggs.

Yes, this is definitely a game that requires you to use the knife (and pay attention to its durability). It's not mandatory, of course, but it greatly eases things if you manage to use it properly. Not only because it allows you to finish enemies downed without wasting more bullets, but more importantly because it allows you to parry. You can parry incoming attacks (and even objects like axes can be deflected mid flight) to avoid taking damage and, crucially, opening enemies for a melee kick. As you've seen, the kick hits most enemies in front of Leon so it's a good tactic to parry and then roundkick your enemies when you're surrounded (which will happen very often).
Hi, my name's drake and I'll do my best to translate as much of this game as I can. Let me know if I made a mistake or if I missed something ^^ Thank you in advance for the lets play Welonz
Forewarning, the handwriting is real bad n some words I can't make out Spanish to English wall translations for yall: 8:13 protect our souls from this (weak?) that intends to destroy us 8:21 (yours?) will consume in the flame those who of(fend?) / cut off word -continued next to the door? Continued: those who offend 8:24 in the end, we will live with you, we won't be afraid 11:04 forever - beginning word cutoff "tigo" - could be "contigo" which would make the full translation "together forever"
8:13 is right - "protect our souls from this weak (man/person) that attempts to destroy us" And I believe 8:21 is almost right but it's "tu ira" - "your wrath will consume in the flame those who (offend)"
The OG Resident Evil 4 was the transition point for the franchise, where they went from exclusively zombie horror to being more of a tribute to pretty much everything horror-adjacent
There are two kinds of people in the world. Those who would rather pee their pants than go wandering around the creepy village and get murdered. And those who worry about having clean underwear when they are murdered and found later.
9:59 Moonwalking would have been pretty epic though. Just replace that scene, but with the zombie guy moonwalking instead. Instantly 20 times better scene. Everbody moonwalking into the church at the end of the demo would quite something too. If anybody wants to make a silly mod for this game later one, here's your idea.
As a Spaniard, I'm soooo glad Capcom redeemed themselves by making the infected be dubbed by actual, professional Spanish voice actors, using natural-sounding phrases (they're most definitely not written by Japanese or Americans writers), instead of the random Mexican they spoke in the original release. And here's a tiny fun fact for y'all: pesetas (ptas) were the IRL currency in Spain before the transition to euros, and if you zoom in into the coins (via photo mode) they look very close to what the real ones looked like back in the day. Except the coins say "Espana" instead of "España". Whoops!
As you noticed, RE4 isn't like the previous games. Even back in the days, it was a clear break from the survival horror genre. RE4 is more action focused. You have to deal with large onslaughts of enemies without much "breather" rooms; those enemies constantly drop stuff trying to supplement for the resources you used up; you have quite a few options for environmental kills or opportunism (for instance, with the dynamite kills). It's less about deciding when to shoot or when to conserve your amo and move pass enemies, how it was in the previous games, and waaay more about you shooting well and creating opportunities for fast and economic kills. Obviously, you can play however you like, but just remember that actively engaging with enemies is absolutely intended here.
Beat the game back in the day, I dont feel like replaying it unlike re2, but I want to see how the remake ended up being, so this playthrough will be great.
