Great video! I am a current Apex owner and I just decided to switch to GHL for my next tank upgrade and keep the Apex for my frag tank. I had 2 EB832 failures in the last 3 years, I was really lucky to catch both while I was at home. To me, especially for my next tank which I want to have a SPS dominated system, reliability is the most important feature I look at when it comes to the controller, I can't imagine having another powerbar failure while I am away. I am very excited to get into the GHL ecosystem!

Would be great to hear how things are going Brian. As said.. there is not a lot of info out there. Also their website ‘news’ section feels ‘spotty’ and raises questions about their ability to continue to invest and specifically innovate.

@@911Hammer my new system has been running for about 4 months, currently still cycling but I have my P4 set up, I would say the initial processes to set up the controller can be quite challenging, but since then there has been no problem running it, switching from Apex to GHL I would say there are rooms that GHL can improve the app user interface, it should be more intitutive, such as displaying the outlet description instead of showing "Switch channel #" will be more useful to the user,
Personally speaking, I don't think that is a show-stopper. I am glad that switched to GHL, software can be improved from over-the-air update with no additional cost, hardware-wise GHL is superior compared to Apex, I cross-checked the sensors with Hanna checkers and the reading is pretty much spot on, programming the logic may not be as intutitive as Apex, but once you understand it it will make a lot of sense. Overall I love the controller and I already purchased the KH director and I am planning to get the ION director once it is available.

@@Healeyjet I think so. You would have to place an order and see. Otherwise I can place the order and ship them to you myself. Me and the wife have a buch of great ideas coming. Just been so busy. I hadn't put out a video also in so long!

I’ve watched a few of your videos and I have some constructive ways you could make them more helpful. Namely more pop out images or videos. I’m just starting to research controllers so I had already watched the BRS Apex Jr/A3/Pro intro video and I wanted some info about Hydros next, so I watched your Hydros initial review and comparison with Apex. Then I saw this one and wondered what this third controller is. You seem to assume when you’re making your videos that your viewers already know a fair amount. For instance, in the GHL section, one of the first things you say is that it looks attractive. How about a picture of it? Do you really want me to stop watching your video to go google what it looks like? I may never return as I go down whatever rabbit hole I enter that way. Just show a picture when you say it looks cool and I’ll keep watching. Same with when you talk about where things are plugged in. When you talk about it, show it.
Another thing I’ve noticed is that you often say something, then say “what I mean by that is” and say the exact same thing. An example of this is in the Hydros vs Apex video at about 7:30. I like your subject matter and appreciate your videos, but just giving some ideas for improvement.

Watch some of my newer videos. I have a new editor. This is an old video.
