    When you started I thought what the heck is he doing! But when finished I’d say great results for a little money! Once again kudos! Keep rolling Sam!

    Love to see a followup of how it worked and actual footage of you using it to clear snow. Great job love the price!!

      I'm not hoping for snow but chances are we'll get another bout before March is over. I'll definitely do a follow-up once I use it in inclement weather.

      Your wish came true ! Sam posted an update just 6 days ago, I guess he forgot to tell you LOL LOL. Here is Sam in the snow with this amazing yes amazing ! cab ! Up here in Canada a real hard cab for my BX2380 is between $12-$14,000 installed - yuppers you read that right ! I emailed my dealer about a month ago for a price on that. THIS is the ONLY video for a cab so inexpensive, I really want to build this now, so so glad Sam decided to do this ! it's Awesome ! VIDEO LINK IS HERE: 👉👉 th-cam.com/video/5rqWEHLJO1c/w-d-xo.html ✅

    Nice setup good job, I've been using a Craftsman soft winter cab on my Craftsman lawn tractor for 10 years now and have made numerous improvements with the fit and seal during that time but once all the wrinkles disappeared I swore never to fold it up again stored during the off season so I got creative and built a dummy frame mount bracket on the wall in a corner area of the garage and extended it up a few inches below the ceiling level where it hangs high enough not to be in the way of anything and keeps it wrinkle free until the next winter season, I also found use for the cab wall mount during the winter for hanging our summer patio chairs up out of the way with the table folded and secured against the wall below them.

      Storage is definitely important to avoid wrinkles and damage. I'll be getting it out very soon and really trying it out this winter.

    Great job! I think when I ‘take the plunge’ on getting a BX, I will incorporate your idea- best of luck with it!

    Love the MacGiverism and improvisation. I do many projects of that nature the same way. Start with an idea (sometimes good, sometimes bad), then adapt it with what I can put my hands on.
    I just got JD1025R with no cab, and like you, I don't want to spend 7000$ on a cab, I just want to be sheltered from the wind. Snowblowing is like a campfire, doesn't matter where you go, the snow or smoke is always in your face.
    You gave me a good idea, if I get one of those golf cart cabs, I just need a small frame under to support it. There's green golf carts, I might even be able to find a green cab 🙂

      I commented while I was watching, the rear visibility might be an issue for me, I have a rear mount blower. Although, I don't need to see on the ground behind me, the blower sticks out a bit.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rear visibility is an issue. I'm thinking about positioning side view mirrors to help. A rear backup camera could also be a viable solution.

    Sam . . . first off . . . nice name! Secondly, I like the $54 cab. It wouldn’t take many wet winter days for a man or woman to be grateful for one of those! I subscribed to the channel. I’m looking forward to more videos on down the road. Great work! - Samuel

    I've heard people say use a hairdryer to heat up the plastic to get the wrinkles out of it, or leave it in the sun and the wrinkles will slowly work themselves out over time.
    I like this idea, but not sure if it would fit my lawn tractor since that's what I use for snow removal.
    Use a pool noodle on the bottom to cushion it from damaging the hood/steering wheel cowling. Slip the PVC pipe through the pool noodle.

  • @WichhartAcres

    Well, if it's cold, it's snowy, and if it rains, the front gets wet. Is that possible without a wiper?

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  ปีที่แล้ว

      Very good questions. I'm using Rainex for plastic and it seems to be working well. The snow doesn't seem to stick either. The best part about the cab is it keeps the wind out of my face. It's doing a great job until I can afford a real cab.

    I want to do something like this for my L series. I want the enclosure but i can't justify the price for it one...unless i can just buy the enclosure as i already have the ROPS ane sun shade already installed. Just need something for the snowy season.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really works well. I still have to dress warm, but it keeps the wind, rain and snow out of my face, and that's a game changer 😁👍

      Great question. No, not at all. The exhaust is in the front of the tractor, and the cab is definitely not air-tight. It does a great job of keeping the wind and precipitation off of me 🤠👍

    Do you think this would help with dust? The dust is killing me. I’d rather be hot than breathing in dust.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would need cleaned, but I'm pretty sure it would reduce the amount of dust that reached your face. It ends up being open a little at the bottom so it's definitely not air tight.

    Use a heat gun to remove wrinkles not a hairdryer

  • @tractorbob58

    Look into a original cab for the tractor I have them on two of mine.

  • @patthesoundguy
    @patthesoundguy ปีที่แล้ว

    I bet you hit the clear plastic gently with a hair dryer or heat gun and the wrinkles will come right out.

    • @samsdoinstuff
      @samsdoinstuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's all about storage. As long as I don't crinkle it up, they work themselves out naturally. Check later videos and you'll see it's flat and clear. 👍 Thanks for watching!!! I 😁

      @@samsdoinstuff I used to have the exact same cab for my golf cart and ran it in the winter and it was awesome. I love how you used it for the tractor.
