I ripped the audio from this and I use it as my alarm clock.
...I wake up almost SCREAMING every morning, but I DO wake up.
...but why
Wake up a little more Compleated every morning 🌄
You lose 2 life every morning but get a mana the color of your choice
I actually want to find the program they used to distort audio in such a way so that I can use it and have everything I say sound phyrexian
@@josephkrick2793 that would be dope actually
I know the new stuff has the cool flashy 3D animations, but I’ve always preferred this style. It feels more in line with the cards. And here, the jerking uncanny movement is used to great effect, making the Phyrexians feel even less human.
This video is 11 years old and it still has Mtg fans watching it. Got to respect the old days of the trailers
Mtg seems to be headed in the wrong direction…the current set is proof of that..they made the trailer with a song and some flashy colors but nothing to root for or against. Sad days indeed.
@@blueknight5754 magic the gathering is dead. Overrun with the “wrong type” of people. I’ll leave you to name what that is.
@@bloozism yikes
@@bloozism the card game is still great. But I know what you mean and agree at least on that field
Now that we have the phonology and script of Phyrexian revealed, you can actually hear the words being spoken. It's nice.
Props to Wizards for making a story so dark without it feeling empty
And no purple-haired, wise-cracking, representation-bait, characters, to ruin the tension.

Phyrexian
Henaz Denarion Phyrexian transliteration is a bunch of X, Z, N, C and P for the most part, with barely any vowel, and even then, it's precised that the transliteration is inaccurate on how it is pronounced.
The borg have nothing on the Phyrexians.
You will be assim- Ha ha no. You will be completed.
Spencer Olson I feel like the Borg and Phyrexia would get along pretty well... Or the Borg would get "perfected" and the universe would be screwed
TheLangenator what if a borg and a phyrexian assimilated and compleated each other at the same time? Leading to a hybrid of the two
Sunbro I think you mean "compleated"
You will be one with Phyrexia
I can't believe this was over a decade ago.
and now we have Vorinclex in Kaldheim.
can't wait to be back here in another decade to see where the story of Phyrexia go.

when Vorinclex showed up I died from excitement both as a green stompy player and a huge fan of new phyrexia and its flavour. Hope we see the rest of his Praetor brethren. All will be one
@@nathanielleack4842 Did you read the story articles? Vorinclex shows up in the first and last ones, but it's a pretty great setup.
This would make for a really cool action-RPG setting by the way. If Magic ever wants to compete in the video game department, Scars of Mirrodin would be the best choice for a setting. Fighting a hopeless battle against a race of zombie-cyborgs that spread like a viral infection sounds awesome.
Meitti I still hope that the Magic Movie will be about the Mirrodin and Phyrexia. Epic dark feeling.
+synthetic legion it would be cool in ravnica
+GreedAboveEverything If Wizards ever wanted to make a MMORPG i would say alara would be the best spot to set it on 10 factions is to many for a good MMO 5 is shaky but with the five colors they don't have much of a choice still a ravnica video game of any genre would be appreciated by me
+synthetic legion i mean think of it you can join gangs gain enough reputation in certain fields to be recruited by guilds
+GreedAboveEverything yeah but what would be the PVE ravnica has no real wildlife and no wilderness to explore i mean like yes you could go to some unknown district but its still a street serving some pre determined purpose there is no sense of adventure also combat would be kinda weird seeing as all fighting would take place on city streets
The Phyrexian symbol has been around nearly as long as the Phyrexians themselves, and it's always been the letter phi. The association between Phyrexia and perfection (Which New Phyrexia continues) was seen in "The Thran" and "The Brother's War" books.
I totally agree that WotC went the extra mile with New Phyrexia, but the foundation has been there for a long time. It's the reason why the Phyrexians are Magic's best villains; they are both new and old, perfection incarnate.
All will be one.
This comment has aged like fine wine.
Late comment, but I always thought that Heliod was the best villain. There's something terrifying about his very human absolutism and Hellenic ego.
What I love is that this new version of Phyrexia is kind of the unchecked growth of a weapon that has survived it's creator. Without Yawgmoth directing it as a tool to conquer (yes they want to conquer too, but to spread their "glory"and and give the multiverse the "gift" of "perfection," not just to wipe out a plane and that's it) and nothing else, it has become an complete culture and society separate from it's original purpose. Like, the offshoot, while still having some similar traits, is a whole new beast that does not need it's original god.
@@bebjobel I often wonder what the precursor planeswalker’s original vision for old phyrexia was… even now perhaps they have untapped potential.
this new slam death album sounds rad
Welcome back, everyone. We doin’ it again
Phyrexia is my favorite fantasy villain faction. It's so well developed- cards, books, lore articles. It has this feeling of unstoppable menace and ruthless efficiency. Reminds me of the human farm in The Matrix. Doesn't hurt that Phyrexia has some of the most powerful cards in the game- Yawgmoth's Bargain, Yawgmoth's Will, and Batterskull are all bonkers. Especially the Bargain- there's a reason it's banned or restricted in every single competitive format.
There's also phyrexian obliterator
They are literally Just a Borg Rippoff From Startrek Next generation Which I am Fine With But They Could Have At least allowed Glissa to Also break free and FINALLY Ascend to becoming a Planeswalker Which is Utterly Impossible Now Everything else in this Expansion's Lore was Fine If they Do return to Mirridan (Yes I am Salty that the Literal Expansion that Got me hooked On MTG Lore Mirridan Block Story's Main Heroine Whom SHOULD HAVE LONG SENSE ASCENDED TO PLANESWALKERHOOD by the start of the Story Once again Got Royally screwed over.)

That One Guy I meant the card around 0:22. Eh, I'll look it up.
Edit: Got it. It's Morbid Plunder.
Phyrexian Rebirth is so much fun. I have a goofy wacky deck using the 2 enchantments that pump out eldrazi spawn and scions and I use them to fill my board with like 25 creatures, and then I just drop Rebirth and get a 27/27, pure hilarity if my opponent can't catch on to my plan
Greetings from 2022.

Then why are you watching a mtg trailer hypocrite
Phyrexians are back bb!
The dark, corrupted, nature of the Phyrexians, is on full display in this art. It hammers them in as a threat, and I can't get enough of it.
@JustGabe
Actually, Wizards of the Coast hired a professional linguist to make the Phyrexian language.
You can probably look-up the alphabet somewhere.
mtg.fandom.com/wiki/Phyrexian_(language)
It's kind of self-guided by instinct, but there are some internal command structures. There are five Praetors that represent the Phyrexian ideals represented by each of the five colors of mana vying for power. And, for a short time, Karn himself was their stand-in for Yawgmoth: under a mix of mind-control, corruption, and delusion. It got to the point where New Phyrexia was forcing Karn to be the new Father of Machines.
The sound design of this trailer truly is a marvel. I love it!
this trailer is breathtaking in every way to me. the audio design, the art, the animation. what a slap in the face to not even reuse footage from this trailer in the "new" march of machines trailer that has all the 3d trailers mashed up into it for a phyrexian finale like this.
old phyrexians were fearsome amalgamations of flesh and machine
new phyrexians look like cheap cosplayers, and no adding lots of teeth in stupid places doesn't look scary just stupid
To clear up what I meant, I was talking about the difference between phyrexians from first sets up to new phyrexia and the recent set all will by one, I read my comment again and realized it may be confusing when I said I don't like how new phyrexians look when I consider "new phyrexia" an old set, oh well
Grandfather Nurgle sends his regards.
Well dang, now the 40k crossover is coming...
I am pretty certain he would hate them tho, he is about stagnation and the phyrexians wants the grand evolution(phyresis is supposed to mean progressive generations, basically always improving)
We need Phyrexia to come back! All will be one!
Arise Tamiyo first Phyrexian Planenswalker you wont be the last.

They're baaaaaack.....
I for one welcome our Phyrexian overlords.
Yeah funny thing about that
returning to the vid that made me go "Wowee this magic thing sure is neat." during Kaldheim spoilers....they're back :)
Sounds like me monologuing on a good day. "Have hope if you must. We will be one. Fret not into eternity, Fore that is not a way to start ones long journey into the blinding light of immortality!"
Still my favorite block! Hope we get to see more of phyrexia in the future
OK, but you have to be fine with 2/100 writing.
You did ^^
Please go back The this set in the future, I loved the dark/horror theme of this set and love the art
so uh
that Neon Kamigawa story, am I right?
Well, this trailer has definitely become relevant again.
?
Whyyyyy
Have they not released phyrexian yet. This game fully deserves to be on par with Star Trek and Tolkien. Why aren't you cementing your place of glory yet WotC?
Coming back here after Kamigawa Neon Dynasty. Love that this language was used within one of the songs. The moment I heard it…!!!
Wait what are you talking about? I wanna see that!

i love this block

@@TheLangenator Sadly there's nothing for em to Perfect‚ Eldrazi Spawn are not tangible in the traditional sense‚ and Phyrexia is all about the tangible.

fun fact, that is the greek "phi" or "fi", in other words, there is where the "phy" came from the phyrexia.
Also Phyrexia means fever.
Its probably just a slightly altered version. I mean, the line is longer for the Phyrexian symbol.

For a set of Magic, this one carries such a heavy theme of sci-fi horror
I’m barely seeing this for the first time today in 2023. I’ve just recently picked up Commander and the set Phyrexia: All Will Be One is releasing next month!
Very excited!
Those mtg videos made me a fan of the game
This being recommanded in 2021, i can't belive it's a coincidence...
Came back here after the praetors' return to MTGA in the new historic bundle. Got the sweet phyrexian swamps in JumpStart, which now pimp out my Sheoldred commander deck. :D
Can't wait for the next phyrexian-themed set. You know it's coming.
All will be one.
Soon.
The Phyrexians have always been the big bad of Magic's universe, and rightly so. There's something undeniably fascinating about them and this psuedo sci-fi/steampunk side of Magic. My interest has always been at its highest with blocks such as Urza's, Invasion and Mirrodin, and seeing them revisit Mirrodin makes me want to start playing again. I like that Wizards tries new themes and ideas for new blocks, but I rather wish they'd focus on this mash up of sci-fi and fantasy.
We really need this realm in a D&D campaign bro
It would need players who accept the high likelihood of failing
They nailed the biomechanical body horror aesthetic so well. The Phyrexians will always be in my heart
And now we all will be one 🥲
loved it all! the evil ancient alien tounge, the majestic drawings and the glimpse of flavor which im sure, made us all rejoice! i can't wait to see what phyrexia has to offer!
its cool how they included a sci fi theme to mtg!
I realy love these moving artworks. It gives an entire new dimension to them. I can honestly say I'm inspire by it :).
I realy hope that i can one day work for wizards and make art for mtg.
Realy guys, keep up the great work, I honestly love the art and the game!
2020 - I think the next expansion will be about phyrexia
The Great Work will be completed... All Will Be One.
I have never played Magic but this "trailer" or whatever it is, is realley awesome!
Is there anyone here with animation-skills who knows how this one was made?
Or a proffessional guess?
Cheers!
A lot of what you're seeing in the video will have been done with post-production software like Adobe Aftereffects. The text, the camera shake, particle effects, all that stuff. Pretty much all I imagine they animated in the traditional sense (which they would have still probably done in Adobe Aftereffects, though Flash and Toonboom would work) is the actual moving images. For those I imagine they commissioned the artists to make rigging pieces (sheets that contain all the parts that need to move and all the parts that are stationary seperated on a transparent layer) of the original art on the cards, which they positioned on layers in their animation program and moved with the bone tool or some such.
Probably the easiest way to animate, actually. You should check out some of the new trailers. Much higher calibur stuff there.
Ah, I see! Thank's a lot for the info!
The "bone tool", is that something similiar to joints in e.g Maya?
Btw, do you know if there is something in adobe AE that could work like that? Like joints?
Thanks again!
So THAT'S how you speak Phyrexian.
Well 12 years later they put Phyrexia in time out so nothing in this trailer is a threat anymore
i dont know how much longer i can wait for Besieged...NEED MOAR PHYREXIA!!
If the new trailer for the phyrexians is at least a tenth as terrifying as this one, it will be absolutely pants shitting. Please, wizards, I know you’ve fallen off of trailers after Eldraine but for gods sake if there’s one trailer to turn into a ten minute epic it’s the one with the fucking phyrexians
still the best block trailer they've made so far.
I agree. Not only does it sum up the set well, but it also is legit creepy.
I'm a relatively old school player, I started right before the Ravnica block. But I must say I am very impressed with this set. I'm making decks for the quiet furnace as well as the progress engine. Innistrad and Dark Ascension take the cake though.
Wicked stuff, tumbs up, and love the small spoilers in between. As mentioned Grasp of Darkness is indeed Mirran and so is Necrotic Ooze but that won't spoil the fun.
Infinitely better than the other video.
Now why did this show up in my recommendations after I just finished the Kaldheim story?
Wow, finally an mtg ad that doesn't make me cringe. Nice technical quality too!
I think an ending to the block with Phyrexia as the victor would be awesome. It would be a depressing ending story-wise, but a cool opening for more dark, eldritch stuff in the MTG verse.
Yawgmoth's rebirth, anyone...?
It’s so unsettling…I love it
pure and beautiful
I'd love to see a MTG game set in mirrodin /new phyrexia
I like so much this videos. Thanks for made them :-)
thank you, my Phyrexian Friend !, I was looking for it under the phyrexian watermark and just couldnt find it

kick ass trailer-vid. I would like to see more of that ^^.
WE WILL ENDURE. JUSTICE WILL BE DONE.
^^^^^
ALL WILL BE ONE.
Good lord, does anyone else feel like they need a shower after listening to Phyrexian? I mean, I don't think they make water hot enough...
basically the fantasy version of the Borg
WOW this trailer made me realise, the Phyrexians are basically the Borg!
+Ariel Bruce only soo much worse.
I rather fight the borg. Everytime.
More like a combination of The Borg and The Flood.
At least you have a chance against the borg
So the Gatewatch now have to recruit captain Janeway.
That was wicked!
I've been recommended this trailer once more, as the glistening threat of New Phyrexia looms in the horizon. Hail to The Machine Orthodoxy!
I have been playing Magic since Tempest came out. Then i gave all my cards to friends, and built one black deck for playing every now and then. I started playing more actively again right after Scars of Mirrodin came out. Now i have 5 decks, 3 mono color, 2 multicolor, of which 1 is an EDH deck, which is coming closer and closer to perfection, Nicol Bolas style :)
I always thougt Phyrexia was awesome, so my return to Magic is actually all thanks to New Phyrexia.
Very cool video Wizards, me like! Keep it up!
Best trailer in all MTG !
ALL WILL BE ONE!
I find it interesting that both the artwork for Grasp of Darkness and Necrotic Ooze were used since there on the Mirran side.
0:07 Thar poor rat thing.
I am curious. Does it appear on some card?
Yeah, that goblin is in the background for a card

Finally, in 2023, all will be one!
Lol, flayer husk trying to walk was sooo cute ^_^
The Emrakul Chant Sounds like this
@Schellen Yeah, I'm really curious about the outcome of this war too. The fun thing is that the ultimate cause of Mirrans' resistance to Phyrexians were Phyrexians themselves: Memnarch started to take people to Mirrodin from other places only because he was corrupted by phyrexian oil, inadvertedly spilled by Karn when he created the plane.
Talk about karma!
very nice job
WOW...Simply Wow..........
The. Best expansion magic the gathering has ever had!
@TheHunterOfTrolls You'd be amazed with how much stuff can be pumped out to 'flesh out' some game lore, while never seeing the public. That said, hopefully we get a peek at this!
@Dconquist It was suppossed to be, but they put a Mirran watermark on it because it didn't involve a creature sacrifice, putting -1/-1 counters, or infect.
I hope to god that when they bring back Phyrexians, they keep it just as gritty.
