that's some fun work, disking and listing, and yup, right!I did that for a few years in Texas,I was 17,gotta throw your first line straight, and then just start it from there to do your rows,I sure miss my farm work!!!
Ever thougt about seeding alfalfa on these headlands? In germany some farmers seed alfalfa/clover on their headlands (for example in potatoes) to suppress weeds and to maximize the ability of the soil to carry weight - especially during wet harvest conditions. Plus - if you have a big field - you can use the groth.
And not to mention all the heat throughout the summer which is why we just plant winter wheat closer to harvest and by spring it’s a good height and it also helps with sand from blowing. We have high winds in spring
Nice video, Getting any rain today? looks like its pushin down towards us... Fingers crossed. Hopefully I can get 140 acres of alfalfa going in the next few years, just gotta clear out all the mesquite and level the ground and then the work begins lol. If I make it that far.
Hi Conley, do you disc the weeds for aesthetic reasons or are they damaging the peanuts in some way?? Also, the technology is amazing to get an alert about a malfunctioning pivot. 😁
The sprayer could cover it but it would be a waste of chemicals as the weeds would just come right back. And we can’t spray residuals because those need to be watered in and the edges of the field don’t get water. So it’s just easier to disk and mow it

pivots, well what not to expect!!!😅Peanuts looking pretty awesome...👍
Peanuts look great, I’m excited to watch them grow
It’s amazing how it makes the whole field look cleaner if you clean up around the outside, we just got done with disking our fields like that.
Oh yea fields always look a whole lot cleaner
great video, always wanting to watch your work over there
You’re going to be at 15K soon!!!!
I know it’s so exciting 😃

Does the irrigation pivot actually cover the headland at all?
Yes we usually try not to plant further than what the pivot can reach

We got a few sprinkles haven’t checked the farm today I think it might’ve rained a few tenths though
you should check the command box to see if the timing for that slow tower is behind or something like that

Partially aesthetic but also if we don’t do it the weeds will spread onto the field and it’s a lot nicer for harvest having clean edges
How many acres do the tractors work on?
A lot 😂
Your land must have to be quite flat for those pivots to work. Or can they do small hillsides?
A few have small hills but it’s majority flat
and some of them can do hilsides like in Nebraska but they have to be designed for that
Which your country
I assume the weeds grow on the end as the sprayer for weeds can't cover the area as well? The peanuts are looking good though.

Where are you from bro?
Watching you disk the ends means nothing if you don't know where you are . What state. Farming practices are different around the country.
how many acres do you all farm total
Not enough
Can I get opportunity to work with you.as iam studying agriculture engineering ???
How many acres do y’all farm Conley?
Not enough wish we could have more
@@conleybanman I’ve heard a little bit but is land very hard to get nowadays?
There’s always land but good land that has good water is hard to find
Conley do rabbits eat peanuts?
No I don’t think so we anyways don’t notice any damage from rabbits
Hi bro
