    The steering through deep snow is amazing. Being electric and disconnected from the actual tires, the steering wheel doesn't get forced around by the force on the tires. So much winter driving control.

    The 10-year warranty and the fact that Mitsubishi courts sub-prime buyers explains their success.

    The steering issue might be the manufacturer's choice of tires. I have a 2011 Lexus ES350 that came with Michelins. It always needed micro corrections until at 27,000 miles I changed the tires to Hankook Noble1 S2~~~Problem solved!

    Hey Zack! First of all I do really enjoy your reviews, you hold the viewer all the way through until the end which is hard to do. Great job! Do you think you will get to review a 2017 Mirage GT or Mirage G4?
    Anyway we are thinking of buying a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport GT with Navigation, Rockford Fosgate 9 Speaker Audio System and the Panoramic Glass Roof. You seemed to really like the 2016 Outlander Sport so would you recommend it? For the Price, ($2,500.00 Rebate, $500.00 Loyalty Cash) Features, and 10yr100,00mile Warranty I think it is the best option for us over most other Small SUVs.
    I have a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage ES and I really love the car and it has been super reliable and fuel efficient over the last 15 months of ownership. I know you love the Mirage (kidding lol) for its refinement and speed lol. I know its not the most refined or fast car but it was perfect for me with all the features (Navigation, Back Up Camera, Parking Sensors Front & Rear, Push Button Start, Keyless Access, Automatic Climate Control, Chrome Package, Cargo Package, Bodyside Moldings, Sport Exterior Package, Bluetooth, Cruise, PW, PL, PM, CVT, AC and More) fuel econemy, and I only paid $16,700.00 in the end for my fully loaded one. When Ivlooked at other competitors I would have paid $20,000.00 to $23,000.00 for other small cars with all of these features and alot of these features were unavailable in many small cars.
    But anyway, back on point, I really love the new Outlander Sport GT and I think we will be getting one this week. Any certain things you really liked about it and you also mentioned it feels much better after this redesign/update right?

    I’ve got the 2.2 turbo diesel...heaps of torque, and 42 mpg. Also has the proper automatic transmission, not the rubbish CVT.
    It’s very reliable. Very little’ wow factor’, but it’s competent and very reliable.

    Possibly an adjustment to the toe at an alignment shop that wouldn't mind putting it out of spec would solve the steering feedback.

    All-Weather tires need to become Standard in Canada, if not everywhere, assuming they still have all-season equipped. put all-weather tires on a 4X4/AWD & your GTG for life IMO ;-)
    Full Electric will be my next purchase, RVR Electric is OTW I believe ;-)
    Love the RVR ;-)

    Thanks for this review! Thanks for explaining the dead on center feel of steering! Never knew what that really meant when I would read about it. I feel this was a very honest review of the outlander sport (I am in Georgia) I drove the last gen and found it to have a ton of engine noise. Is this any quieter?

    The dead feeling on the steering wheel, is it because it's electric power steering wheel and not hydraulic power steering wheel? Hence, not getting the feedback you were looking for?

    • @Motormouth...
      @Motormouth...  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Many other companies use electric power steering with much better results. Try a Honda Civic for example.

    • @jmrosel71
      @jmrosel71 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, electric steering is a way to go, specially during extreme cold during winter where most of the hydraulic power steering keeps on leaking.

    • @Slazmoservicing4209
      @Slazmoservicing4209 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The electric steering needs a couple different settings like sports, city / urban and touring.

  • @bUtMyRiGhTs
    @bUtMyRiGhTs 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you want to fix the dead steering then you actually need wider tires and suspension braces.

    In Belgium we had a sporty 1.8L diesel with 150HP but since the facelift only a 1.6L petrol remains ... ASX is doomed here without a diesel , still over 60% dieselbuyers in SUV 's & XO's . Belgium is very dieseloriented , we even had diesel in the Kia Picanto & Smart ForTwo ...

    very good review but since i own a 2014 rvr 1.8 petrol i want to clears a few things out.this is not a mazda cx3nor a honda hrv competitor.its bigger than them.it should be compared to the nissan quashqai.ythis is not a city car.its just about ok in the city but its nicer on a highway run.i will go to the mitsubishi showroom in a weeks time to look at the new one.have called them and they will have a 2.2 diesel automatic demo there.the price they have quoted me is around 27,000 euros.

    • @virgil3241
      @virgil3241 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      High price compared to what. Its the lowest priced brand out of the entire market of the same type of compact SUV. Ford Escapes are like 5K more for the mid models. And the Ford Escape has 3 years warranty, this has 5. Plus the 10 year transmission and engine
