- With the death of the Evo, Eclipse, Montero, and Galant, Mitsubishi has no doubt, been struggling to find their identity in the states. Thankfully, their best-selling Outlander Sport has been a huge success for the brand, the latest version hasn't seen any major changes since its 2010 introduction and with the sub-compact SUV segment heating up, a replacement can't come soon enough.

I couldn't give a crap about the design, i want a car that is super reliable with reasonable gas mileage, so far, for me personally, this car has met both.
Just bought one, I'm 72, born in Detroit have loved cars for decades. The car is fabulous, end of.
It's just a simple car, and Mitsubishi isn't hiding any of that in this car. I don't think anyone does old new car like Mitsubishi does. It is super easy to live with, and this no BS approach to a vehicle in this day and age is nice to see and is somewhat refreshing.
This is a solid, reliable vehicle that can be bought for $8k less than a comparable Honda or Toyota (at the time of writing this), not to mention is warrantied much better than both. It drives well. The CVT is buttery smooth. The 2.4L is plenty of power. It's great on gas. It's comfortable and roomy. Drive it like a normal person and there is no "drone" and absolutely no annoying shift points, making for seamlessly smooth acceleration. The HRV is smaller, hideous, noisy, poorly warrantied, and much more expensive at real world prices.

Cloud 9 the cvt is included in the “Powertrain” warranty which is at 10yr/100,000 mile warranty. Obviously Mitsubishi has enough confidence in their cvt to warranty it for that long

I kind of wasted my time on this video. All he talked about what how cheap he thought the appearance was. Thats a big part of why this car is so inexpensive. You get what you pay for
so in 2008 I bought an outlander se, loaded with everything including the Rockford fos gate stereo. know what, and boy was I surprised, Cuz all I ever read was same negative crap I see here, but it turned out to be THE MOST RELIABLE NEW CAR I EVER BOUGHT! AND I'VE HAD 8 NEW CARS. 1st and only repair was blower motor for the ac,heater. 137.000 miles and still runs and drives fine. you cannot find many cars that can match that reliability! I bought a new car last year, but kept the Mitsubishi, it's still good to go and looks nearly new.
You know I disagree with the review and feel that the reviewer is very biased AGAINST Mitsubishi. I bought a 2017 Outlander Sport Limited Edition. I love it! I love the firm seats, the Apple CarPlay infotainment system, the S-HID headlights and of course the AWD. The firm seats I prefer over something that is plush. I know mine does not have power seats, but now that I have my seat adjusted the way I want, I will never touch the seat again. I bought mine because of all the features it included and wanted something that was AWD within the price I was willing to pay. I have had so far ZERO issues. The warranty you really can't beat. There's also a VERY strong community devoted to these vehicles. If you will give it an honest chance you will not be disappointing.

He drives all sorts of cars. Most cars within the same price range that are just superior to mitsubishi. So I dont blame him for knocking them as they just dont compare to the competition anymore.They dont offer quality parts.. Some of their switches and buttons, like the heated seats for example, look like they are off a vehicle in the late 90s or early 2000s. Cheap looking leather, plastics and outdated exterior styling.
Mitsubishi is a dying brand in the America's.. because honestly..were entitled. Ill be the first to admit i would never buy a vehicle with a cheap looking interior this day in age. This car may drive great..im not saying it doesnt. But you cant argue that while some people dont notice or mind the low quality..most others surely will. As competition continues to offer more safety features and higher quality materials. Mitsubishi is either going to have to jump on board or risk fading away permanently in the US and Canadian markets.
You totally right. So what if the interior is a little cheaper than SOME of the competition. Mitsubishi keeps their prices affordable that way and where their not cheap is their engines/drivetrain. My cheap 2014 Mirage is entirely outdated interior wise but they use a timing belt in their engines. Thats unheard of in subcompact entry level cars. That tells me they invest in reliability versus leather seat stitching, entertainment systems, etc. Thats

Who cares if the unlock and lock sensors aren't on the back handle like the Honda? What a drag having to press a button THEN grab the handle. It's keyless entry, just be happy that a Mitsubishi has that.

Pass the salt bruh. I bought my mom one of these and she loves it! She went from a 97 protege to the 2017 Outlander sport. And she couldnt be happier. She got heated seats, Bluetooth, AWD, and cruise control. Your looking at this car with high standards. Its not a Benz or Audi. This is definitely a great bang for your buck. PS. My mom picked this one out of the CRV, Rav-4, equinox, and the Tucson.

It's hard to believe that Mitsubishi is multibillionaire company that heavily specializes in heavy industry, making jets, etc and they can't put some of that money into making some better cars than what they have in the line up? They could absolutely do better than this. The EVO is an obvious fine example.
Sang Eeth last year Mitsubishi cheated on emissions candles and they lost money that's why nissan baught 34% in their company
Mitsubishi Motors is a significantly smaller segment of Mitsubishi as a whole. They could of course do better, but they're invested in many other industries which I assume they prioritize over passenger vehicles. Besides, you can pick up an Outlander Sport for cheap, well below MSRP. They're reliable and efficient with good warranties. it's a very value-conscious combination which is keeping them afloat for the time being.
They also gave up the TV business as well, they used to be on top years ago.

I'm looking for a third car that's cheap and reliable that's a compact SUV which this car fits perfectly especially preowned that goes around 2018 model for $13,000. Savagegeese said it even better.

The 2.4L does 0-60 in 8.7 seconds and feels very responsive and peppy in the small SUV class. The 2.0L does closer to 10 seconds. We love our 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport GT AWC with panoramic roof with leds, rockford fosgate audio system, hid headlights, navigation, homelink, heated seats, power driver seat, leather, push start, power folding mirrors and much more! Ours also has the remote start, bodyside modling, rear silver under trim, steel fuel door, larger rear spoiler, all weather mats, scuff plates, led interior package, mud guards, chrome package and much more! Ours was $32,940.00 due to having close to $5,000.00 in options and accessories on our top trim GT which is what we wanted. We had look online and take a drive to find one with all these extras. In the end we paid about $27,000.00 after getting about $6,000.00 off in rebates and dealer discounts.
We love everything about it and the AWC system in the car is amazing in the snow or on rutted dirt roads. You put it in 4 wheel drive look and it is so solid feeling. I am so glad Mitsubishi keep this feeling like a true SUV and not some hatchback feeling car based wagon.
We love our 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport GT AWC (top trim) and our 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 SE (top trim). Our Mirage G4 was $18,115.00 fully loaded with apple car play, heated seats, push start, keyless access, homelink and auto dimming rear view mirror, power everything, cruise, auto climate control and much more and after rebates and dealer discounts we paid $12,714.00!!! This is our second Mirage and my co worker has had hers 3 years now and they are reliable, efficient (like you can get 50mpg), feature packed and love the sound of the 3 cylinder! Oh and you get a 10/100,000 warranty with Mitsubishi and their dealer service is amazing on customer service and oil change prices!
I feel like we got amazing deals on our Mitsubishis for everything they came with! I also added the factory accessories to my Mirage like our Outlander Sport came with. Go drive one and see it is something that fits your needs. I chose Mitsubishi for their warranty, owner satisfaction reading online, fully loaded features at amazing prices, sharp looks, mpg (Mirage and Mirage G4), and just the overall feel of them we really liked compared to everything else we drove.
It is a great reliable vehicle if you are on a budget and not looking for all of the gadgets!

i always owned a mitsubish. had a 1996 galant and a 2008 evolution mr and they both lasted 15 and 10 years without failure before i sold them. i laugh at mitsubishi critics. truth is it is made with really sturdy parts and it can get you anyway with absolute certainty. 15 years of canadian winter driving is the ultimate test. I need an SUV now and after test driving the outlander (not sport) i can’t find a better car for the money. Go test drive the outlander (even the base awc) and notice how smooth and quiet it runs and the massive amounts of grip on snow.
I enjoyed his review, however I believe he is somewhat bias. Cargo Capacity is better than a Mazda CX -3. Performance is pretty good to me, acceleration as well as handling!
Your totally right! Mitsubishi is a reliable brand because they invest in a good engine and drivetrain vs the most luxurious interiors, seat stitching, etc basically bullshit we dont need. Thats how they keep their prices 15% cheaper than Toyota/Honda. Great cars to pass down to your teenagers too.

That doesn't make it an objectively good car though. Buying a Mitsubishi Mirage for $7k doesn't make it a luxury car.

i have a 2016 outlander sport ..love it...set cruz at 62 or 63mph. ..40 mpg...set it at 55mph and was getting 42 or 44 mpg.....almost 700 miles on a tank of fuel at 55mph...

After the Evo was killed, Mitsubishi basically became a rental car company that makes their vehicles as cheaply as possible. With that being said, Mitsubishi really needs to redesign their lineup, make vehicles that are actually competitive and build performance vehicles again of they want to sell better.

I would say so. I got it used about two years ago with 25K on it, so very gently used. It's starting to show it's age, but nothing that I can't attribute to age. For instance, I had to replace part of the exhaust system this past year, but that's because I live in Central New York which constantly uses salt on the roads, so it rusted out.
Jonathan Fleischman I have a 2017 Outlander GT model and the interior build quality is actually pretty good. Definitely better than the critic reviews would make us believe. Our other vehicle is a 2015 Lexus RX and the outlander in ways actually rides better...

It's built well, for a 2009. In my (naive, granted) mind, Mitsubishi could be much more of a contender with the big brands if they did a couple of thorough redesigns. Their cars just feel behind on the times.

You should do an off road test vs the competition.
It is vastly better than the HRV off road and even slightly better than the crosstrek.
Having the differential lock and the low gearing when the CVT is in "first" gives it good crawl ability
Deep sand is no issue with stock tires and decent mud ability if you have the right tires.
It is also tough as an anvil......
I have the '13 outlander sport.. it gave me everything i wanted for the price. (end of year sale @$5k off msrp) AWD works awesome. There is a need for inexpensive new cars. Hopefully mitz can recover. I'd love to see their mini truck released in the U.S.
Exterior is still good, obviously some things need to be updated but it's still a good offering. Good review.
I own a a 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander and I love it to death. A great practical car and seats 7 standard and I get great gas mileage. (28-30miles per gallon mixed driving.) Although I agree that Mitsu is dying in america and I do not like their other offers at all except for the evo. It's suffering in America, but in Asia, it's doing great. Asia has all the better and premium models like the Pajero Sport and the all new upcoming Expander and multiple other compact cars. I can see why people hate this brand, but they are not terrible at all.
MuSiCMaNiA2104 same. I have an outlander GT 2017 and compared to much more expensive vehicles, it actually rides nice and build quality is good. For the price I paid, definitely a fantastic buy. Coming from a person that previously purchased a new LX470 back in 2002... the Mitsubishi holds its own.

I have a 2015 outlander sport. It was in an accident so I got it with issues but it ran and drove fine. I got it for 10k less then I would of paid any where else. I love it. I wish it had the pan sun roof but still love mine. I avg 25 city to 31 hwy so idk what this guy is talking about! Bigger suvs don't get 15! Anyways I have the es I believe. 2.0 litter with paddle shifters no sun roof or sub but does have to state system just without subwoofer. Very nice ride. I need the outlander 2017 gt! If like to go fully loaded!
I own a 2017 Mitsubishi outlander sports GT. The problem with these reviewers are that they make this wrong opinion about CVT and the car itself by driving it for few hours. You can sense it only after few months of drive. Believe, need months to understand how powerful, sporty awesome these cars on roads. All who believe these reviewers are fooled some how from buying a very reliable and sturdy compact SUV. After rebates, my GT's OTD was 24k. Note that GT had automatic, climate, wiper & headlights with 4*4 drive.

I have a 2017 lancer and I love the way it drives. Interior isnt amazing but its an upgrade from my chevy cruze. If you dont care about useless tech mitsubishi isnt that bad.

Yeah thats a low ball value, Kelly Blue Book isnt the end all be all. I just sell it private for $7500. Fans of Mitsubishi know what reliable cars these are.
The point is to just keep the car. It’s really wasteful to just get rid if a car in 5-10 years. Pretty silly. Good Japanese cars should give you at least over 200k if faithful service and few repairs.

I ended up buying a pre owned 2015 manual Toyota/Scion XB in March. Boy did I come close to buying a new 2018 Mirage Manual in burnt orange for $9500. Thus car came up two days before they finally hit my below $10k requirement at Mitsubishi. I’m glad it worked out, since I plan at least 15-20 years of service from the car, If I don’t go EV sooner. I like the little Mirage still and recommend them to people looking for excellent value, high mpg, and reliability in something new. Can’t fault Scions and Toyota’s with 30k and 4 years old too. I lucked out, and it’s better with two forward facing car seats in back. Should last forever.

The all new Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross SUV witha 1.5L Turbo will be coming out in early 2018. Also they will be introducing a newly redesigned Outlander Sport in 2019. Also they will have the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV in early 2018. So they are on the up and up with getting their line up freshened.
But we love our 2016 Outlander Sport GT 4x4 (top trim) and our 2017 Mirage G4 SE (top trim). You cant beat their prices and warranty and Mitsubishi is proven to be a reliable brand.

2016 Outlander Sport GT $32,940.00 (paid around $27,000.00) we had close to $5,000.00 in accessories and the Nav Package Option as we wanted every accessory and option on the top trim GT that was offered.

We own a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport 2.4L GT 4X4 and could not be happier! We purchased it on 10/31/16 brand new. It was $32,940.00 and after Rebates and Discounts it was $26,700.00. Our GT was higher than most as it had the Optional Navigation Package, LED Interior Illumination Package (foot wells light up blue and has a cool round blue led light built into the tailgate), Upgraded LED Fog Lights to match the HID Headlights, Cargo Package, Remote Engine Start, Park Assist Package, Chrome Package, Sport Package with Larger Rear Spoiler and Steel Fuel Door, Mud Guards, Rear Silver Bumper Under Cover, Color Keyed Bodyside Moldings, Scuff Plates, Window Rain Guards, more!!! We also added Mitsubishi License Plate Frames and Mitsubishi Valve Stem Caps. We had to search to find one with all the added accessory packages. Most GTs ran around $27,000.00 to $28,000.00 and then were going for $24,000.00 from what I saw. You can get a base ES with AWC for $17,000.00 you cant beat that for a new 2018. Also even though Consumer Reports hates Mitsubishi they cannot deny their reliability of all models and even state that they all have good reliability if you view their website/app and look at current and past reliability reported by owners.
It drives like a true SUV and sits high and does not feel like a wagon or hatchback (Honda HR-V) when you drive it. The ride is surprisingly good and handling is confident and we are getting around 28 mpg combined driving. You cant find a new SUV with all these Features, Capabilities, Safety, and Warranty for $27,000.00 loaded with everything. The Panoramic Roof is awesome and is surrounded with LED lights and the 710 Watt 9 Speaker Rockford Fosgate Audio is amazing and can be customized to your sound preference!
The remote start keyfob is nice and can be set to run for 10 or 30 minutes and is digital. The push start with keyless access on front doors and tailgate is so convenient. Also when sitting in the rear it has theater style seating so you sit above the front passengers and I read on Mitsubishis news page that helps prevent rear passengers from getting car sick. Also with the huge panoramic roof its like sitting in a convertible lol. It does not open which prefer because I always use AC. Our Kia Soul we owned had a sunroof and I always left the shade open but I would say I opened the actual sunroof maybe 15 times in the 3.5 years or so we owned it. Now at night time it is lined with orange led mood lighting all around it and can be adjusted to 3 different levels, it makes this car unique and looking thru it at night is amazing. The rockford fosgate audio is unreal and has so many settings to get it just to your liking and wow can it kick!
We looked at quiet a few SUVs but the ones we drove were the Buick Encore, Toyota Rav-4, Honda HR-V, Hyundai Tuscon and Kia Sportage. They were all nice Vehicles but in top trims loaded with the features we wanted they pushed upper 30K range ($36K - $40K), way to expensive. The HR-V however for the top trim was amazingly priced but it felt like a hatchback and not an SUV and the styling is very boring. In the end it came down to the Outlander Sport or the Encore. We chose this because of its styling, warranty, price, features, proven reliability record, safety, owner satisfaction, added accessories, 3 mode selectible 4x4 and not just AWD, and that it drove like a true SUV and not a car based type SUV even though it is. It sits high and has that SUV feeling to it. Sure the Encore rode smoother and was more refined but we liked the Outlander Sport better than all the others as it gave everything we wanted at a much better price and with a long warranty. Plus Mitsubishi keeps their designs longer than others so the bugs are worked out and this engine has been around for years and is very reliable. Even if others could have undercut the price we still would have chose the Outlander Sport GT as Mitsubishi’s are very reliable and we just liked everything about it. We always purchased Hyundai and Kia but when our 2013 Hyundai Elantra gave us so many issues we tried another brand and am I glad we did. I will only purchase Mitsubishi now and there is just something about them I like. A girl at my work has a 2011 Mitsubishi Lancer and it has 148,000 miles on it and is a CVT and she loves it and has had no issues but regular maintenance. Its her 3rd Mitsubishi and she said her last Mitsubishi had over 200,000 and would have went more but was in an accident so that was enough to convince me. Plus another girl ai worked with got 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage in November 2014 and I liked the simplicity of it will be 4 years old this November has about 30,000 miles and has had no issues. We had 2 recalls on our Outlander Sport and 2 on my 2015 Mirage but none on my 2017 Mirage G4.
The 2.4L 168 hrsp engine is really peppy and if you floor it it pushes you back in you seat a lil lol. Its not a race car but has plenty of power for me! When you put it in 4x4 lock you can really feel all 4 wheels gripping the ground. These 18 inch wheels are sharp and really add to its looks! I must say the AWD system in Mitsubishi is pretty good. Not Jeep good but pretty darn good for this type of SUV and we feel very safe and confident in it in heavy snow and taking it to the cabins and going up dirt rutted rocky roads.
We also owned a 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage and traded it on the newly updated 2017 Mirage G4 SE when they came and wow! I absolutely loved my 2015 Mirage ES CVT with Navigation. I loved it so much in fact when I saw the 2017 versions released we traded it and went with a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage G4 SE in the all new Wine Red Exterior and Light Gray Interior! My car stickered for $18,115.00 and I got it for $12,714.00 with rebates and dealer discounts. I was first going to get a Mystic Black 2017 Mirage GT but in the end decided on the Mirage G4 SE. Now mind you that is the top trim model fully loaded for $12,714.00! They have base model CVT Mirage and Mirage G4s for under $10,000 at Renn Kirby Mitsubishi and the 5 speeds are under $10,000.00 you cant beat it. Plus every Mirage owner I see and talk to loves their Mirage just as I do. Sure its no race car, its not luxurious, its not overly refined, and its not meant to be but it is a good little car loaded with features, gets amazing mpg, has good reliability, has a 10/100,000 mike warranty, and just gives you solid a to b transportation piece! When you watch reviews and people bit h about the Mirages price being to high always remember you are never going to pay that there are always rebates and dealer discounts ranging between $2,000.00 and $5,000.00 depending on the dealer and mitsubishi rebate. It is the only car I will own now and this is my 8th new car before someone says it must be my first car and thats why I think it is a good car. I have owned a new 2015 Mitsubishi Mirage, 2013 Hyundai Elantra, 2010 Kia Soul, 2008 Hyundai Sonata, 2005 Chevy Cavalier, 2003 Hyundai Accent, 2002 Kia Rio. All of those were bought new as my 2017 Mirage G4 SE was and I owned 3 used cars before those. The Mirage and Mirage G4 are such neat little charismatic cars. Its so fun to rev up the 78 horsepower 3 cylinder engine and still get awsome mpg. They ride so smooth in town and on the highway. Dont listen to the negative critic reviews look at owner reviews because the owners love them
So I say if you are thinking about a Mitsubishi go for it. The new Outlander Sport is a true feeling SUV with selectable 4X4 with a button (2WD, Auto 4X4, 4X4 Lock) and loaded with features, safety and an amazing warranty! My coworker has had her Mirage 3 years and not a single problem and she will be buying another one in a year as its the only car she will buy now. Go for it and drive a Mitsubishi and you will want one lol.
My co worker got her 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport LE (Limited Edition) AWC in Pearl White and it is sharp with the Black 18 inch wheels and red and black interior. She paid $20,000.00 (MSRP was around $26,000.00) l. I will be posting a video on my page of all our Mitsubishis at work lol.
For 2018 they made several styling updates to the Outlander Sport and trim line and packaging changes. Plus restyled the interior center console, added all new infotainment systems that are up to date (apple car play and android auto), added sound insulation and more! So now their value equation is even better and they supply top notch reliability for many many years of trouble free motoring.

I believe the Kia sportage back in 90's is the starter of sub compact/curve of design suv. Non of the other cats had curve flow design back then. Plus, sportage was one of the best selling sub compact back then.

WOW! You millennial's are blowing my mind! It doesn't have lane assist. forward collision warning, applegate P4 charging ports, Birkenstock sandal refreshers, candy crush pre screen, text while driving ability, Starbucks refilling pre set windows, etc. !! That car is like a a damn nice computer for an older person person to try to figure out where shit is at! Try driving a 1966 Ford Mustang with a 286 with a 4 barrel and an underdash mounted 8 track player linked to the AM/FM. Good luck! Hopefully someone has not swapped the auto out with a T5 conversion or you are in for a real experience!

Ok, I disagree, I bought my 2017 Outlander sport SE model, and LOVE it! Coming from a 2009 Pontiac G6 (which I loved as well till the end with 189k miles, I drove for a living)it was starting to breakdown and needed something more reliable. I'm not made of money and the warranty and price for this is what I was looking for! Granted it could use more power coming from a G6, but I do love my car! Would I get it again?? Maybe not, but my next car I will definitely upgrade. But in the now, this car is great! I have no complaints but a car payment! Lol I love the look, and knowing that I have something to rely on for a while! Thank you Mitsubishi! 😁
With the Eclipse, 3000GT, evo, ralliart, Mitsubishi used to be my favorite brand. Would be the first dealer i would go to. Now they have absolutely nothing and haven't updated pretty much anything in 10 years. They need to make a huge change soon if they want to survive.

I love the cvt in my lancer gts. The way it redlines and holds it is amazing. I wouldn't want it to make a fake shift shock. I feel that it makes it faster since it doesn't lose any pull during acceleration. It just throws you in the seat and holds you there until you tap out lol. Mitsubishi makes the best cvt's in the game hands down
Yeah, a lot of people don't like this kind of CVT, but this is how a CVT SHOULD OPERATE, and it was meant to do that. The shifts, when CVTs have them, are not terrible, but I can see why people would like that kind of CVT better.
Unless they changed it, I believe the paddle shifters are made out of magnesium. It helps them from not getting hot.

I just saw the all new 2018 Mitsubishi Eclipse cross it's they all new cross over. I have to say it looks very nice.
I want Mitsubishi to succeed. They are a company that i used to love back in the 3000gt days. That being said...they need to up their game. its 2017 and that outlander looks like its from the 2010 era. 7 years is a big deal and a load of time for design improvement and evolution (pun intended). It's definitely something that isn't a lost cause...it could be better...and they could make it better. Lets just hope they do.

Who has this car what issues u got at what mileage?
I have a 2018 Outlander Sport SE. it’s a great car. Has apple Android. 6 Speaker Stereo. The ride is nice. The tires are a little noisy but not bad. I have 22,000 on it now and No problems at all. Has mileage is better then advertised. I use 91 octane and I get 28 city and 35 highway. I tested it about 10 times to make sure. You can’t beat it for the money.
JAA it’s getting a true 35 mpg on the highway and between 28 and sometimes 30 city. I actually save a few pennies overall. Plus 91 octane has more detergents in it so it’s better for the engine. Newer cars have a better pcm to adjust for different octanes. 87 is recommended not required.
JAA years ago the pcm was set for a specific octane. The only way to change it was a tune and you could only put that specific octane in it. Today’s pcm can read a variety of octanes and adjust accordingly. I see the difference between 87 and 91. Check the mpg by gas used and mileage driven. No two ways about it 91 gets better mpg by a lot. It’s 7 mpg over the sticker mpg of 28.
JAA all I can tell you is I get better mpg with 91 octane instead of 87. 87 is recommended not required. Big difference. I also have a 2009 Volvo XC90. It Requires high Octane gas. If you put 87 in it in runs like garbage. 91 in that 2.4 is the way to go. Save a few pennies better mpg and cleaner engine. Do you have a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport ?

Gotta keep in mind Mitsubishi isn't just a car company. They're a financial institution, deal with heavy industrial equipment, elevators, etc. As a company they're doing fine, and are more than in the positive. But their automotive department is suffering and Nissan has bought a good chunk of them to help that department out since its parent company has pretty much given up on their automotive division.

You complain about the CVT transmission during each acceleration run, but never try accelerating from a stop while using the paddles in manual mode. I hate CVTs too, but how it handles acceleration with a manual mode would provide a good perspective on how much easier it would be to live with.

Constructive criticism would be nice. State the price of the car and then take it from there. I understand Mitsubishi has not changed the style and feature since mid 2000 but in Australia, you see a lot on the roads and gas is more expensive here compared to US. I guess you get what you pay for. The positive with Mitsubishi is low cost service fee, and a reliable vehicle that is easy to maintain.
I am glad I didn't follow the advise given on this negative review. I went ahead and purchased a used 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander ES with the 2.0 engine and manual transmission. This car is great and simple. Acceleration with the base engine and the manual transmission is really good. This SUV is very practical and fun to drive with the manual transmission.

We actually have nothing against Mitsubishi as a brand and would LOVE to see them make a comeback. It would just be a shame to see them go the Suzuki and Isuzu route here in America.
