How to give water to your Chameleon

  • In this video I'll show you guys how to give water to your chameleon when he's not drinking from anywhere or even if he is like L that doesn't drink from anywhere besides this way.
    L is very lazy and like to have things in his mouth like you guys can see in another of my videos.
    The water needs to be on the right temperature, not too hot and not too cold.
    And becareful with their eyes because they will be pissed off if some water got inside.

    I learned that you can also give it water by puting ice on top of the lid and letting it melt but make sure the water of the ice falls on a plant

  • @jeremiahduncan7229
    @jeremiahduncan7229 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Usually you can just hold a spray nozzle close to their face and drip water slowly out rather than shooting it. Do this regularly and your chameleon will eventually learn that it's easy water and come to you to drink the drops by itself. 😉

      Agreed. I spray a tiny bit in front of him making sure to catch his attention.. but not at him. He hates being sprayed. He will then bring himself closer to me so i can slowly spray enough for a drip. I let him do this multiple times to get comfortable with it. After a week.. he let me slowly spray into his mouth as he opened and swollowed. I would continue doing that till he turned his head. It takes patience

    Also, I've read to NOT spray it in the mouth with water, as it can aspirate easily...you CAN put tiny amounts in their mouth while they are chewing a cricket, but as soon as they are done chewing, you are supposed to stop so they don't choke. They love being in the shower, they love misting, etc...they are tropical creatures....

  • @Tempest_Elixir
    @Tempest_Elixir 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Take a beaker drill a small hole in the base...
    Fill with water ideally distilled...
    Place above the vivarium which has the mesh on top...
    The water will SLOWLY drip the water from the beaker (mimicking naturally dropping rain)
    Also place a tray INSIDE the vivarium in the right spot to catch the water as it drips otherwise you'll have stinky water on your hands.
    If your Chameleon misses the boat then simply empty the drip tray refill the beaker and make sure he gets a drink.
    They'll love this when they used to it as your replicating natural rain dropping from above as opposed to it being sprayed sideways directly at them.
    Hope this helps.

    chameleons drink through their eyes as well...you literally can see them SWALLOW water with their eyeballs, as weird as that sounds....and they absorb it other ways, their whole body....put them in the shower, (not hot) let them be in the humidity of your shower, etc....my chameleon loves to lay in a shallow pool of warmish water...and totally drinks water through his eyeballs, as I said before. Google it, I haven't...but I'm not crazy hahaha
