    Very helpful, I have never done my drums before, so I was avoiding it 😅 You showed that it's quite straight forward. Thanks!

    Thx for the video. It’s very detailed. I’ve always been afraid to try drum brakes on my own, but after this video, I definitely feel confident. Thank you !!!

    Really liked this video and how in depth you went. Thumbs up from me 👍🏽. One question though, the self adjuster works on its own, so why get the perfect spin on the wheel? I’m asking because if leave it alone and it doesn’t adjust It might be a very bad day.

      the point is to get it as close as possible to the drum. You are right that it adjusts itself but it takes many pedal presses to get it where it should be. And since these affect braking power directly, its better to adjust it manually and its also faster. Some concept applies when adjusting hand brake drums. Hope that was clear ! thanks !

      I have videos for front and rear brakes on a 2017 Chevrolet cruze! Check them out, the procedure is very similar

    Hey I’m doing the same brake drum job on my Cruze and after putting everything together I tried so hard the drum won’t go back on even after adjusting the self adjuster to the lowest possible setting , what is the fix ?

    • @OneTrickTech
      @OneTrickTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shoes are out of position, they probably shifted when you were putting the springs. Happened to me too, all you have to do is re-position them correctly, you can just hit them with your palm on top. They either shift towards the top or bottom, rarely side-to side.

      @@OneTrickTech one more thing the ABS light came on after doing the job, I bled the brakes so many times but the pedal is still spongy but it still has little braking power , how to fix both and btw thank you so much for your reply and video helped me lots !!!!

    • @OneTrickTech
      @OneTrickTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      is the ABS light always on or does it come on as soon as you start driving, like once you go over 20km/h ?

    • @OneTrickTech
      @OneTrickTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You only need to bleed that one wheel. If you changed both sides, then bleed both wheels.

      Do i need a tool or i can do it manually?

    • @OneTrickTech
      @OneTrickTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@derek4real928 I used 3/8" clear vinyl tube and a empty bottle. You can use any empty bottle you have at home.
      The clear vinyl tube you can get at any hardware store. And a 10mm or 11mm wrench. That's all you need. No specialty tools.
      The exact size for the clear vinyl tube is 1/4 Inch Inside Diameter X 3/8 Inch Outside Diameter.
      Hope the helps!

      @@OneTrickTech and what pump on the brake ? And gonna come out in the bottle or ?

    • @OneTrickTech
      @OneTrickTech  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@derek4real928 Yea so here's how to do it in detail.
      1. Attach the vinyl tube to the bleeder screw (like I did in the video). It should slide onto the bleeder screw but it will still be a tight fit. It should hold by itself. Then put the other end of the vinyl tube into the empty bottle. You can now rest the empty bottle on the ground next the wheel.
      2. With the bleeder screw closed, pump the brake pedal a few times.
      3. After you've pumped the brake pedal a few times, hold the brake pedal. If you are alone, put a stick or a bar between the driver seat and the brake pedal to hold it down. Or you can ask someone to hold it for you.
      4. When the brake pedal is held, go ahead and open the bleeder screw. Brake fluid should come out thru your vinyl tube and into the bottle.
      5. Repeat steps 2,3 and 4 until there is no more air bubbles coming out with the brake fluid. You should see no bubbles in the vinyl tube.
      6. When your done. close the bleeder screw. And add some brake fluid to the master cylinder reservoir.
      Hope the helps! let me know if you have more questions!

    So the adjuster has to be loose once its on? Because mines was too tight an I lost all my brake fluid.
