PROCESSED: Here's Why "THE PROCESS" Failed! Stunted Growth

  • Has the process been processed and what’s to be made of it? It’s closing fast on a decade of Philadelphia, along with NBA fans in general trusting those words in hopes at some point they wouldn’t have to use them any longer. Well maybe now they don’t. But not for the reasons they expected. What that was is the team by now would be in championship contending position, with pillars in place to carry the organization into the foreseeable future. We all saw their pillars completely cave in with Embiid understandably going down or limping through injury in the 2021 playoffs, and Ben Simmons losing all his super powers on the floor and even more mentally. So much so that he refused to even shoot the ball even for an uncontested, 100% success graded layup to tie the game late in a game 7 to take them to the conference finals. But it get deeper. Games before that, Ben Simmons began to get and hear questions not only about his game, but his longterm stay on the team and whether or not he was even good enough to win a championship at point guard. The process is going to need all the trust it can get right now, because it’s hard to see what’s going on and believe this is just yet another step in said process. One for sure won’t have the pillar that is their former #1 pick Ben Simmons. Here’s what went wrong and why the process has been processed and failed. Stunted Growth.

    If Simmons, AD, and Harden are horrible ppl for demanding trades then so are Toronto for trading Derozan who was loyal to them, and Hou, Det, and CLE for sitting a healthy Wall, Griffin, and Drummond while searching trades that suit their needs. It goes both ways.

    • @jaquialwatts9551

      Difference is…unless you have a no trade clause, teams are free to do as they please for the betterment of the TEAM. Simmons and others signed a contract for a certain amount of years and are expected to honor it. He wasn’t forced to sign it.
      Secondly, it sets a bad precedent for newcomers. Sign with the team that pays you the most and then demand a trade to a team of your choice while acting out until they do so. That’s bad business for the nba to have happen.

      @@MakingMovesMajor For whatever reason, Ben Simmons' fines stopped at about $1.67 million. It could be Ben is successfully claiming mental illness, which means Philly loses the ability to fine him further.
      With Simmons' salary remaining on the 76ers cap sheet on top of Philly having to pay him that money, Daryl Morey is losing this battle. In the beginning, holding off on a trade until Ben comes back to raise his trade value seemed like a good idea.
      But now that it is clear that Simmons isn't going to do that, nor will Philly get any more money back, trading him for the best offer on the table seems smarter than it once did. Malcolm Brogdon is a proven PG who posted a double-double in his last two games.
      The fact that the Pacers were willing to package Brogdon with Caris Lavert in exchange for Ben means that trade should be explored further, in light of Simmons' latest tactics. 💁🏻‍♂️🏀🤷

    I certainly have my criticisms of Ben, but it's obvious that he's been suffering mightily from a lack of confidence in post season play, and it doesn't help when your home crowd literally boos you and hates your guts ontop of the fact that people within the organization and his own team have been shitting on him. When you are lacking confidence, what i just described is a perfect recipe to intensify that lack of confidence. He's never been a shooter, and more of a pass-first pg who can score - rather than a scoring PG who s als a good passer. Which means he would have done great back in the 80's, 90's and 2000's, but in the age of the scoring PG and the advent of positionless 3-point shooting centric gameplay over the course of the last decade just doesn't jibe with his skillset. That's why i think he'll actually flourish at Brooklyn. He'll be able to certainly get his shot if and when he wants, but can sit back and allow it to come to him while in the meantime getting Durant and Irving going as the number 1 and 2 go-to scoring options. Harden was the worst fit for Brooklyn, he's a ball hog who has based his entire game around drawing fouls, shooting tons of threes, and getting away with travels and has always been very ball-dominant - which made no sense when you got two guys who are far more versatile and better skilled scorers than he who are also pretty ball-dominant. This will also work out pretty well for Harden too, landing on a team that needs more perimeter scoring and provide a more steady supply of points than what Simmons is capable of giving.

    Being from the Bahamas during the late 90's only ONE scout. The fact Ben Simmons had the opportunity to do what so many of us wanted and he's a spoiled brat. I'm 6'1 and had that Kyrie/Trey game on offense with that pesky Mookie Blaylock style on def. I would've been happy to play D1 and over seas. This clown grew to 6'10 and has all the resources to be great but he's just going to waste it smh. Some players got injured and never got to fulfill their potential....Ben is wasting health, youth and an amazing opportunity to be at the highest level.

    Can’t believe Joel embiid is the only good draft pick that came outta all that

  • @dbradandthem2727
    @dbradandthem2727 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The process was not a failure because GM Sam hinkie told all of us Sixers fans in the very beginning that they had a five-year plan to recruit as many draft picks as they could, develop as many young players as they could and hopefully draft a franchise player or two ( Joel embiid & Ben Simmons). They said they wanted to gather as many assets as he could so that they can make big trades to grab another Superstar if available ( Jimmy Butler, Al Horford, Tobias Harris) and give this team an opportunity to go to the NBA finals for years to come. THAT is what they did, because if this was not what they did, no one would think that the process failed! ( theres only ONE CHAMPION each year so yunno) Not to mention there are many players from the Sixers process years they have signed lucrative contact like: TJ McConnell, Landry shamet, Mykall Bridges, Christian Wood, Nerlens Noel, Dario saric, Robert Covington, Markelle fultz sign the contract before he got hurt again, Michael Carter-Williams who was our rookie-of-the-year signed a nice contract. THAT is not failure bruh,

Made no sense to me to be honest they don't know what they were doing imagine embid and Devin booker with cj McCollum thats literally what they gave up .........my bad I forgot to mention Giannis the big problem is why couldn't they run a pick and roll ? Embid sets the pick Ben rolls to the basket embid can throw the pop or wait til Ben clears out and now he can punish a pg the game ain't hard its about team chemistry and execution to me Ben didn't shoot a layup but I did see Trae Young could barely get the ball past mid court
