  • Watch as we take this 2-Door Sahara and give it some upgrades from its original bone stock structure. To make this Wrangler a true Jeep, we add a 3.25" Rough Country Lift kit with Shocks, Barricade Extreme Sport Grab Handles, and Mammoth Boulder black wheels with BF Goodrich Mud Terrain Tires.
    This build not only offers the essentials to transform any Wrangler, but these upgrades won't break the bank. The Rough Country Lift Kit will improve the driveability of your Wrangler while offering some additional clearance under the fenders for larger wheels. The Barricade Extreme Sport Grab handles also allow for easy and comfortable access in and out of the Jeep. Finally, the Mammoth Boulder wheels and BF Goodrich tires add the final touches of style that make this Wrangler stand out from the rest.

    Great video--I'm glad you did this for a 2 door JK. IMO the kits look so different depending on the JK vs JKU that it is hard to really get a good sense without some 2 door videos.

    I have this lift kit on my 2013 2dr Sport, and love it. Sure, there are better ones out there, but for the price and performance, its perfect. I had some issues with the rear track bar bracket, due to a wrong bolt RC provided, but I ended up getting an adjustable track bar and getting rid of the bracket. I have 35 x 12.5 duratracs on my stock 16" rims, and it works great. I had to use some 2" spacers though, until I get some different rims with better backspacing.

    Do 2 door jks need to be regeared once you upgrade to 35s like this jeep??

    I bought my 07 jku x 6 speed for 3500. Had to replace clutch and clutch bearing (the previous owner gave me a new clutch to install) and had to fix up the wiring mess he had with light bar and winch and random wires hanging all over.. I've been considering rc lift kits for how cheap they are. I don't really plan on going major offroading. I was looking into teraflex tho

    Are the wheels in this video 16x8 or 17x9? I was thinking they were 16x8 but the description says 17x9.

    I love these build videos! Could you guys do a video on the JKS Quicker disconnects? That's my next purchase from you guys. I need the 2034 ones I think because I've got the TeraFlex Sport S/T3 lift on my JK (Project Dirty Willy) Also, it would be awesome if you guys could take a look at PDW over on my channel. Maybe leave a comment? Either way you guys are still awesome, our Jeep club(Muddy Buddys) here in Ohio buys from you guys all the time and will continue to do so in the future.

    I have a 2007 Camp Jeep Edition X (Basically a Rubicon without the sticker). I heard for 4.10 Gear ratio 33 inch wheels are the max before regear. Could I go 35s without causing any issues with gearing for my 4.10 ratio and it’s a manual.

    I know when you start getting to that 3 inch-ish lift realm, that the front driveshaft proximity to the cross over pipe in the exhaust gets close, and the angle at the T-case comes into play. How was the pipe clearance and T-case angle with the 3.25 lift. ( I understand at 3.5 you may need the exhaust extensions).

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was not here when this build was put together so I can't answer from direct experience, unfortunately. We we recommend adding an exhaust spacer once you get up to about 2.5 or 3 in. of lift regardless, just to be safe. Spacers are cheap, might as well add it to the list and forget about it instead of worrying down the line. 😁 -Zach

    The programmer you mentioned. Will the Superchips flashpaq f5 help with your shift points?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Blake, Yes it will! The Flashpaq will adjust for different tire sizes and gear ratios which will adjust your speedometer and odometer. Plus, if you have an auto trans, it will also adjust your shift points. - Will

      Do they have one for the 2016 yet because I have looked and one says that you will have to swap your ECM?

    • @blakesmitherman3297
      @blakesmitherman3297 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      With the 3.21 gearing that I have now I am just looking for something to just sort of get by for a while until I can afford a regear. The shift points on the highway are pretty messed up around 75-80mph

    Great build! I ran into another TH-cam video of a guy who was super unhappy with his Jeep as his daily driver. After watching your video, it really doesn’t look like it’s an uncomfortable ride. He was complaining about low gas mileage, noise, and heavy. Is that because he just didn’t do his upgrades correctly? I love the shocks for more comfort and it really doesn’t sound like the tires are loud at all. What did he do wrong?

    • @extremeterrain
      @extremeterrain  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks for watching, Bryan! Tricky question, honestly. Jeeps tend not to be the smoothest riding vehicle out there, and they've never been known for a quiet ride or fuel economy. So long story short, if you bought a Wrangler for any of those reasons, you may want to reconsider. 😂 You *can* definitely daily a Wrangler if you don't mind a more rugged vehicle overall though! As for the other owner you're talking about, it's kinda hard to say. Loud tires can come from not rotating them often enough, and irregular wear can form which makes all-terrains and mud tires *very* noisy over time. Jarring ride on a Wrangler can come from lifting them with cheap spacer lifts, not using long enough shocks, or incorrect suspension geometry angles. As for gas mileage, you can't really do too much about it once you start adding weight and larger tires unfortunately. But you can re-calibrate your speedometer and shift points (if you have an automatic transmission) and that can help bring your MPGs up a bit. Hope all of this helps! -Zach
