thanks for the comment! these are super fun little pickups and I always like seeing other people who have them. There's a '91 that I see pretty often where I live and we always wave to each other :)
I hear these bad bois have a heater that'll blow straight heat in negative temps under 5 minute warm up time, saving on gas from idling... not like 2019 Subaru Outbacks when theres a ground leak on the battery and someone jump starts it by reversing the jumper cables. Great review! Please do Freedom Choice Refried Beans, as I am an avid Rositas Refried Beans enjoyer but inflation has marked up the price considerably.
I am trying to save a 1993 Mazda B2600i with a 111,000 miles from a wrecking yard that is going to be cleaned out, the body and interior is near mint, I belive its the computer that is bad, the crusher is moving in next week.
These are pretty nice pickups for the money and I think it should be pretty easy for you to replace the ECU. these don't have too much in terms of wiring to worry about.
Hello! I own a Mazda B2300 1997 and this is a problem with Mazda Rangers... They simply overheat from the engine bay and the ECU goes bad. More then likely half of these trucks are in a yard exactly for this reason unfortunately. For me I picked up a new ECU and it fired right up with a new brain! Any Ranger Mazda can be swapped out as long as you have the right ECU 97' and older.
I've got a 91 extended cab 4x4 with 293,000 plus miles. The computer in mine was remanufactured about 15 years ago and is still going strong. I've had it for 18 years. When I got it it had a cracked head due to overheating I replaced the engine with a used engine of unknown miles. I've done regular maintenance and I'm still happy with it
I'm not sure. I'd like to say yes, but I think a lot of these pickups have been used by insurgent groups over the last 20 or 30 years so the Department of Defense is probably not a big fan of this truck :(
I actually sold it a few months ago when I left Alaska. Really cool pickup though, I would certainly consider owning another one! right now I'm working on a review of the 2002 mazda miata.
@cortstew ahh no way. My grandfather who passed away in '96 had a truck very similar. It was either an 89' 2600i or '90 b2600i and it was a blueish purple with a wavy striped decal, and the tiger colored 4 in 4x4.. my mother showed me pictures recently of us with the truck and it brought back so many memories I'm looking to find one to show my dad
I have seen a few around but they are certainly becoming harder to come by. It sounds like your grandpa had a pretty nice pickup :) hopefully you end up finding one
