HOLY, In Beta I sent a request for the 4 color deck to be added as I have issues seeing clubs/spades difference. With the way cards were written (red and black cards were effected by some jokers) I didn’t expect the dev to do the change but thats amazing!!!
IMHO the reason this game became so popular was because the devs made a demo that actually felt like playing a full game. I had more hours in that demo than many full games on my library. It's the easiest way of making you realize you want to play the full version.
There's so much room for different playstyles and scaling in Balatro that it's almost overwhelming. Even the fact that it lets you continue any run into endless mode once you've beaten the last blind is amazing. I can't wait to see what you and other folks cook up in the coming days and weeks with this game.
I still remember MONTHS ago when the demo first game out, and you said, "This is going to be one of those games." And you were right! It's so so so unique, great to play, and the replay value is staggering. Thanks for putting us on to it!
balatro is genuinely one of the best roguelikes to come out in recent years, so much depth to the strategy and variety between runs. not to mention the aesthetics and atmosphere are so relaxed and almost otherworldly; i feel like i slip into a trance playing this game, hearts and spades and queens and aces swirling and drifting around me to the laidback music. simply incredible game, comfortable saying its gonna be one of my top picks for the year
What I really appreciate about Balatro is the option to unlock all from the start. Genuinely makes me want to play the game more and not like in STS where u had to endure 5x to the heart as a new player who doesnt get half the game for every character.
I wonder if Andrew could place the planet upgrade info cards above where it shows what the new level for each hand is so we could see what it upgrades to

For the record, the Blank voucher has to be purchased ten times (cumulative over all runs) in order to unlock a certain super rare voucher (I haven't unlocked it yet)
There is only one issue I foresee with the game in comparison to the demo- variance. They tripled the number of jokers in the game, yet you can still only see two at a time in a shop? It is going to be next to impossible to find the joker(s) that you need without spending exorbitant amounts of money on rerolls. I personally feel as though the shops should have 3 jokers for sale at a time. In theory if they made this change, that's also leaves room for an extra difficulty modifier that they could add. Something like: Difficulty level 10- The shop sells one less joker. Obviously the game just came out so it is hard to say for sure if this will be an issue. But from my few (~6) hours playing so far, that is my biggest wish.
I'm here for Balatro. I'm excited for Balatro! But once again I'm hit with that bittersweet feeling from Monster Train. Always happy when MT gets recognition, but sad Frost will likely never make content for it. (I barely started the video, streamer man Y U Do Dis...)
Yes, given how much time I have put into the demo, and the quality of that time, I can definitely agree that balatro is standing on the mountaintop with slay the spire, monster train and the other great greats.
1:26 I really wish more roguelites did this, as I don't like progression systems in most roguelites since more often than not it feels like you are not intended to win with whats available at the start, and some games, such as Hades and Rogue Legacy are *really grindy* with their progression systems to the point of being annoying.

I gotta say the demo was better, the full release is WAY too luck based. The demo felt far more skill based. So many awful jokers and with the short pivot time between big blinds just kinda feels meh. The demo was a 10/10 but the full release I'd put at a 6 or a 7.
