had mine since around '06, mowed with it last week. I've not been easy on it, nor have I done regular maintenance. I have one tire that's the original after all these years. Replaced the deck belt at least once. Replaced the drive belts couple weeks ago. Now isn't a good time to be purchasing mowers. I hope it keeps going, I am treating it better now. When or if it dies, I have no reservations about getting another one, but I hope that day doesn't come anytime soon.

I have the same on with a 19 hp Kohler engine. I bought mine newly used from a neighbor for $695. It’s been great I put gator blades on it a mulch plug. Once a year I change all the filters use synthetic oil and sharpen the blades. Another important thing I do is scrap the wet grass from the underside of the deck. And treat the areas that show oxidation with ospho rust inhibitor. And spray paint the areas under the deck. I use non ethanol gas and a fuel funnel that has a wire mush screen that traps all the dirt particles keep the fuel clean. I also blow grass off the deck and tractor after every use with a blow gun from my air compressor. All these things are the key to getting 10 plus years out of a lawn tractor

I bought my Pony from Lowe’s in 2011 for less than a grand. Have had no issues with it. Everything is still original except for the deck blade spindles and blades. Keep oil changed and clean air filters in it. I don’t wash mind all that much but will place a hose next to the deck at lowest setting and run blades to clean underside of deck. Never put the wash attachment on mine. Prior to this one my wife bought me an MTD lawn tractor from Lowe’s back in 93 after we got married. Had that till I got the Pony. Replaced the spindles on that one too and would have replaced the starter solenoid but the tranny went out before that. Engine was still in real good shape.
