Thank you for this interesting video.
Just one point: you mention that you have a preference for 18X binoculars. These are very specialized tools. Most people who have binoculars for "general use" (birding, nature observation, and so on) have binoculars with magnification between 7x and 10x. This helps them not being "lost" in the landscape they are exploring. On the other hand, 18x binoculars have much narrower field of view, and their magnification is on the low end of the magnification of many spotting scopes. So the difference between such binoculars and spotting scopes may not be that large.

I have a set of ww2 german naval binoculars, think they may have been from a submarine, but there are faint ranging marks on a horizontal, presumably for calculating ship speed or size or range or the like. They're pretty cool but not very high power, maybe 8x I don't recall.. if anyone is interested I'll dig them out and post more info 👀

I wish that everyone would stop buying from big companies like Midway was fixing to place an order with them was waiting on payday then they randomly cancelled there free shipping once again.I reached out to them one of there customer service people Alex told me he was sorry told me to send him the product I was interested in and he would try to work with me on shipping cost when I sent the link to the product I received a generic reply but no help seems that Midway doesn’t really care about the little guy after all I checked there site today and they went up 2 dollars on the product guess that’s why they couldn’t help I will support the local shops from now on .

I brought my late Grandpa's binoculars to the range once. Unfortunately they took a fall from the shooting bench either from recoil or an elbow. The right side is broken and they're unfortunately not an expensive brand so getting them fixed is not a priority.

One thing to mention is you are getting 2 scopes in 1 for binoculars vs a spotting scope, so if you have a budget limit, you might be better off getting the spotting scope (or monocular) as you will be getting a cleaner image for the money.

Larry still hanging out with Wayne "Fraudster" Lapierre? Very poor judgment.

Did you see this using a spotting scope or binoculars?
