- We visit Sideshow Collectibles’ headquarters to get a close-up look at their prototype of The Child life-size figure from Star Wars The Mandalorian! This casting comes directly from Legacy Effects’ molds that were used for the making of the baby Yoda puppet used for production--the closest we'll get to seeing the real prop! (Update: Regarding The Child Life-Size Figure by Sideshow. We can confirm that it will have a brief production window, and that it will be fulfilled on a first-come-first-served basis. Although each statue will not be individually numbered, it will be considered a Limited Edition as defined by its production run.)

is there a body under the cloth jacket or is it just a head and hands with cloth jacket and plastic base also does any of the limbs have articulation

@@zarlieck Probably not the creator but he did work on The Child's controls. Robotics, animatronics, and electronic controls were his thing.

It sucks, because I know it's a reasonable price for how good it looks, how much development went into it, but I still can't bring myself to drop basically $400 on something like this.

A fantastic piece that will be very popular , museum quality for sure . The prototype is spot on with a great retail price , the challenge now will be reproduce this thousands of times while maintaining good QC and true to the prototype .
I honestly don’t care if it takes longer to deliver if that means everyone will receive a model that looks just like the prototype

While a great video, I’m somewhat disgusted with many of the follow commenters and how they’re attacking the poor sideshow employee.
In regards to her using the name” The Child” and the people saying she’s pushing the mouse’s agenda? Seriously? Even Bob Iger was chastised for referring to him as anything else. The Child is what they wish to brand the character as, and they’re just being compliant as licensees.

The cuteness factor is quite hampered by them not scaling the ears as big as in the show. The Hot Toys version nailed it from the looks of the promo shots

Why does this looks so much better and don't have the rosey cheeks that we get when we buy it this is how it should look this prototype has more detail in the face neck and paint work so its not as high quality to what where going to get seeing here.

I'll admit that this protype looks a bit better but. I received my sideshow staute of the child in the post a couple of weeks ago. I think the final product looks absolutly INCREDIBLE. I don't care what anyone says.
