- The BeeBrain V1 is Finally Here! Here's the build and setup video. I tried to make this fool-proof - for the total Newb, but also with important info for the advanced whooper. You guys are going to have a BLAST with this new FC.

I just finished my build with BeeBrain, it is awesome. Good job. Greetings from Slovakia for all fans.
I found it easiest to bind the fc to the taranis using the USB cord. Do this by plugging the usb cord into the fc, then hold the bind button down as you plug the other end of the cable into the computer. Trying to plug in the lipo with one hand is like treading a string through the eye of a needle, but with one hand.

Wow, I'm an IT person by trade but have never built a quad of any kind. This video was excellent. One time through it and flying my quad now. For noobs like me, the next hardware step would be a noob oriented guide to learn how to tune the Flight Controller from a Noob perspective. Again excellent video, you didn't leave any of the essentials out.

Awesome vid as always! I've got my bee brain on order due soon from drone Junkie here in the UK. I was wondering if you have any exact specs on the taranis rx in the board? I'm worried that it won't be compatible with the eu lbt firmware that all the UK taranis radios ship with.
+Tiny Whoop Helpful video! Do you know what the ESC/Motor protocol should be set at in the configuration tab? I saw in the manual it was set to brushed, but I saw that mr Steele had set it on 'PWM'. I got MMW Fast motors.

hi, i just got my beebrain v1.2 and i flashed it with the latest beta flight 3.1.5 . could you help me tune my quad in acro mode since i think its very sensitive and going all around the place with the slightest stick movements. i'm using the default PID and rates and Expo
Could you do a video on PID setup for the Tiny Whoop. I have mine setup like you show but it is a little too snappy for my novice skills. I have been told that this can be fixed by adjusting the PIDs.

Does the power plug/cable on the beebrain seem to bottleneck the battery like many say they do on the stock inductrix?

Help! I have a tbs tango and I bought the frsky JR module and I can't get the thing to bind to the new beebrain boards for the life of me! I bought two!

My props spin up way too much when I arm it in angle mode, it almost leaves the ground and I can hardly land. But in air mode it's completely normal and just barely spins the props. I tried clicking the setting for the props not to spin when armed in Betaflight but that didn't do anything. Any idea what setting I need to change either in Betaflight or on my Taranis to fix this?
FauxShizzl just built mine and its doing something like this. It just goes crazy. Now I can't even get bound anymore. I dunno what I've done and need help. Followed this video through and or didn't workout

When i switched TAER to AETR it refused to take off... =x
Also, when setting the airmode it started spinning the props on arm... very unlike the inductrix but much like a real Race quad =o

Great video, thanks Jesse! Can anyone offer me some help: the throttle needs adjusting but I'm unsure what aspect of it needs adjusting. When I arm the quad the motors start to spin despite throttle being at 0 (about 900 when plugged into Beta Flight). The amount the props spin also change when moving switch between 2nd and 3rd position. If that's any help...?
Do you have airmode on? If so thats how its supposed to be so you can still maintain control at 0 throttle.

hey Luke, after a bit of struggling I got the FrSky to sync up with my 9xrPro with an XJT modulr. I'm having some control issues still. trying to figure out if it's the FC, the bind, or the transmitter still, but it flies!
Red and Black from camera are reversed on the board I just got...careful soldering this part if you are following along.

You forgot to mention which side of the frame is the front. For a newbie this isn't very obvious.

Sorry I thought you meant the FC. But you can tell by the way the battery goes in.

I've flown with the frame at 180 degrees, its fine... battery slides out anyway so there's no difference to me

They're the Eachline props available on the TW store. I have a few sets of red and green and their both stunning.
They're good, do you think they're a little thinner though? I had a set on a 3d printed frame of mine with no prop guards, and they seem to have gotten banged up to a point of uselessness much quicker
+c4pt1n54n0 c4pt1n54n0 They're definitely thinner. They're pretty much just temporary props for me until the standard props come back into stock. Now that the Inductrix FPV is shipping that should be pretty soon (hopefully).
Still hoping for a Spektrum/Orange DSM tutorial... can't gt ny BB to bind to my Radio. May be missing something obvious.
Actually- I just sorted it. I had the Tiny Whoop not level in boot- causes the fc to not be receptive to bind. I am bound, radio configed, and netaflight set up now. Waitinf on props and a cam.
Id make a video, but I have been unsucessful at armng the bee with my cheap dxe. I can't get the throttle below 1000; thus it will not arm. plug in ypur fc to betaflight and go into the radio parameters and see if they move. Mine binds, but will not arm to fly.
what cable do you use to connect to pc? and from where on the board?

+TonyFPV It's not running Inductrix firmware anymore so no, it's not going to behave the same. It's going to behave however you program it to in Beta/Cleanflight.
+SoLongSidekick thats exactly my question, does the board has a voltage meter? since it doesnt have telemetry, I think we will have to time the flights in order not to waste the batteries.
Will this work the same or at all with cleanflight?
Answered my own question, figured it did but yes It does, settings are a little different. I think you just keep TAER in receiver settings & everything else is the same. I just didn't want to have to install more drivers... I just had a hard time updating Kiss fc firmware because I suck with dealing with different drivers.. So far this thing is pretty cool! It's a lot more responsive, I feel I need to turn down my rates if that's even possible. Ha! I'll get used to it!
+D Nesser You don't have to install any new drivers to use BF if you're already using CF. And as far as the TAER situation goes, Jesse and I think that different Taranis firmware releases do things differently. I had to keep TAER as well (in BF), while Jesse needed to change his.
I realized that as soon as I opened CF. I know there basically the same I just haven't downloaded or used BF yet. I have a cheap laptop I use for tuning Kiss & CF and it's weird about certain drivers so I didn't want to change anything. I use another for flashing firmware.
not hating, its an awesome piece of kit. But if its made for that specific frame, seems weird you have to modify it and have such an uncomfortable bind process...
Which motors do you use ? Fasts? Or insane ?
+Dylan Stewart Jesse and I both use TW Race Edition motors, which are in between the fast and insane MMW motors. I love them, they really seem to be a perfect balance.
Was about to buy the motors just now. But saw the beebrain is back in stock. Looks like I'll have to buy that lol. Just going to have to rock the insane motors for now. As you could imagine the battery life I have with 210 mah battery isn't any good. 90 seconds
Max was longest I got. Most flights aren't longer than 45 seconds. Going to switch to Losi connector to use some 380 mah from banggood.
+Dylan Stewart Be careful, you might start getting some gnarly oscillations from being too heavy.

Why dont you just use a Y harness so you dont have to solder?
two types of impedance here: electrical and physical. the two extra connection points, plus the added weight as well as air resistance created by the extra wiring. you can make a soldering iron out of an old toaster, battery, a piece of copper wire and some insulation. better yet, go buy one for like $15 shipped and give it a shot, its definitely a good skill to have. My local hobby joint even does small stuff like that for free at the counter.
not to say electrical impedance is non-physical.. not sure what i was going for there XD

Anyone having issues with the rakon frame?
i am using the rakon frame and i only screwed in two of the four side...less weight i guess.
also if you crash it hard you have to be ready to bend the frame back or it will prevent the prop to spin.

+Mason Garland Are you talking about the recent switch from Picoblade to standard JST-XHP (what TW is calling the "power whoop") connectors? Then yeah, if you want to use those batteries you need to swap the battery pigtail.
