@@neoroxx You can paint literally any part of it except the hoses and its fine. Just choose a color scheme that works with the yellow hoses OR make a mold of the hoses and cast replacements. Also you can remove that seamline if its such an eyesore to you. Just shave it off with a hobby knife.
I got to say this is a good master grade. I own Rezin and Full Frontal version. I only don't have the green Unicorn version. The Full Frontal version updated the shield connector, added the sleeve part and new rifle. The shield connector in Full Frontal version is way better than the original.
Have you thought about covering the rubber parts with fabric hoses as they were used for RG RX-178? I think Tamiya is selling them as modelling supplies for their motor bike kits.
Just finished the kit. Looks amazing, but man are the hips loose! I resorted to some nail polish to tighten them up and it worked alright, but then the other connection piece on the hips started giving me issues! Not to mention that everything on the waist either falls off or just gets in the way when you try to fool with the legs at all. Definitely not the most solid kit around, but I'd still give it a solid 8/10 because the Geara Doga kicks ass.
Finally bought this one. Got it for $40 with a $5 discount. Really love the design. Acrylic paint should stick well on the rubber because it is very elasticky and shouldn't crack.
@@kidrobot. yeah they've gone up in price substantially. Must be the recession. I'd wait to see if the price goes down. The price also goes up when they start running out of stock.
Reminds of the Hi Zack rubber ... I thought I would hate it but still got it anyways ...not to bad ...glad I finally know it comes with the colonial helmet
I have the same, re-painted it with olive drab cammo. Added LED's inside it (head & outer leg thrusters). It was a pain in the behind to re-paint it, I'm almost done with mine, so now I have the Guncannon, NT1 Alex, and Unicorn left.. Also, try as I did - re-paint the rubber hoses.
I could be wrong, but I think they intentionally gave the kit a regular sticker for the mono-eye because they aren't completely opaque, and will let light through. AKA, putting a light in the kit wouldn't require you to paint the eye, since it would shine through the correct color of the sticker.
Its good to have ordering options, I swear USA Gundam Store everything that I want is out of stock I have gone with them as of late because they get it to you in a couple days but I've been settling for other kits due to the out of stock thing.
GuntPulp Yeah a lot of the older kits are usually sold out. Have you tried emailing them, they won’t think anyone wants the kit if nobody asks about it.
@@slufffyg503 After spending about 300$ through them I sent an email asking if the Turn A would be back in stock ever and they gave me a passive aggressive answer "will be back in stock any day" 6 months now and still no Turn A.
They just had them up for backorder purchase I managed to snag a lot hopefully I get one soon .... and yea unfortunately Bandai neglects it's North American market
Yea I know how it is, I'm not blaming USA Gundam Store for anything. I am just griping because I can't get alot of the kits advertised from them in the longest time. I live about an hour away from their location, I should find out if it's possible to visit them or if they are strictly an online store.
The rubber tubing is a bonus so you not liking it is a pep peeve. If it wasn’t rubber parts would have broken or scratched. So yes the rubber tubing is kinda necessary, but hey that’s just me.
When I was in high school we had a class that taught Japanese, my teacher let me borrow some VSH tapes that was anime but they were all in Japanese. He wanted me to watch these tapes and listen to the Japanese language so that I can become familiar with it. These tapes were,Ronin Warriors, Gundam, DBZ, and some magical girl one. At that time Cartoon network had played Ronin Warriors in English and watched it from beginning to end, they also played Gundam but never got to watch it to the end (I think I was halfway through the series by this point). The Japanese version I got from my teacher was the last few episodes. What made the Geara Doga my favorite MS? In that scene where the Geara Doga was trying to help the GMs and the Nu Gundam push the asteroid base away from the Earth, that's when it became my favorite MS. It's not because it was a op mech or a contender for the Gundam, but because that one scene confused me. I remember going "Whats going on?" "Why are they Helping?" and rewinding the hell out of that tape to just make sense out of what I just saw, but never did.
Unicorn and Narrative explains that a little - basically Amuro's desire to stop the asteroid was so strong, that it started to resonate with his newtype abilities and "a miracle" happend. For a brief moment everyone arround him could finally "connect their hearts and understand each other" like a real newtypes and decided to help Amuro and save the earth together.
great review as always! watched this as i took the nastiest shit in my entire fucking life, but your video helped me through the chronic pain that ravaged my asshole! keep up the good work!
So that's why it's so hard or expensive to find, it's an old ass kit. I just recently got into gundam, very casually into thunderbolt but IBO is what really got me hooked. Then i started the The new Char's origin then unicorn. This suit looks sick af.
It's not really all that old. It's hard to find because it's a cheaper MG, and it's a very popular design. Most people love everything from char's counter attack.
in a way, zeon mobile suits have something good on their designs. mostly on thw upper torso, head, and backpacks. but, the legs still have those wonky bell bottom jeans kind of legs. it's like they were stuck in the 70's. 😆
That is so corny that they included a fully articulated hand that can't actually close the grasp, lol. What a bummer. Why not just make it a full hand at that point? I kind of like the concept at least of a left hand that is fully articulated, since it tends to work better for wrapping around a weapon or a side grip as a support hand, whereas the fixed pose tends to work better for holding beam rifles. For bazookas, fully articulated holding hands every day of the week. They just work better for the cockeyed poses of a bazooka. If the HGUC Geara Doga wasn't so dope, this would be a no-brainer. Some day, I'll probably end up building both. This is an awesome looking kit, and the Geara Doga looks awesome anyway.
This things amust have. Bot 80$ for it is too pricey. If I can get for under 50$ I'll get it. Especially when newcomers like flame toys are putting out kits like the Optimus prime catack for 35$ yet given the larger scale I almost want to agree with bandai. But charging this price for one of their best grunt suits is like defeating the purpose. Flame toys quality is outstanding. The design beats the shit out of so many crappy Gundam designs it makes me think bandai is going to fall behind. Bandai's plastic quality is not up to the level I expect now that I've gotten to build the flame toys.
80$? I'v never seen this for 80$, don't know where your shopping but wherever your shopping there overpriced and the MSRP for this kit isn't 80 either, its 4800 Yen, aka 48$.
I have to say, it is pretty disappointing for this MG, U was expecting much more from the detail and the better frame under. The color however is ok, pretty nice and natural to see, but if I want the color I could just simply paint it. it didn't bother me much for the number of armory it carries, because that's all showed in the anime and I'm satisfy with that. Also some of the color seperation such as the two rear cameras on the back with a sticker??? and the rivet on the sheild don't even have color seperation really bothers me. the body ratio and the articulation is ok. so I won't really recommend this MG at all:(

Use an adhesion promoter like Bulldog for painting the soft parts or use wire sleeves.
