Ruds ... great review. In my opinion the build quality and tight tolerances are second to none. This razor is truly an outstanding value. I have both the 3 and 3.5 inch handle plus B, C and D plates. For those who are wondering, I'd say the B plate is like a 2.5, C plate 4.5 and D plate 6.5 in reference to the Rockwell 6s razor. Hope this helps.
Nice video sir. This brass Karve is one of the most beautiful timeless designs I have seen on a DE razor, so I shall purchase one as a collector's item. Please which of the karve plates are equivalent to the Rockwell R2 and R5 plates? I actually want to get one with two plates that swing between mild and mild-aggressive. Please advise. Gomez
nice vid rudy,,,but just a little suggestion on karve (plates)...remember each plate not only changes in blade gap but also the blade exposure also changes. Gap is just one element and not the whole picture. Now you are one of the best for feeding us important info where other talk off topic and talk in depth abour soaps and scents. Half the vid is a waste of time. You are always spot on, on topic and informative which I truly apprecidate!
Somehow I missed this review months ago. Glad I stumbled across it as I'm going to be placing an order for a Karve and have been going back and forth on the plates to go with it. Your input along with some of the others that have commented help with my selection. As always a great honest review, keep them coming. I always look forward to your videos.
Great review Ruds, delighted to hear someone else talking about blade chatter. I think a lot of DE hardware reviews miss that and if you're used to a SE, blade chatter can leave you looking like weeper City!
Sure. I find the E plate perfect for weekday shaves, D for quick out the door/rush and F is fantastic for weekend/longer growth. The whole cost , searching and waiting for a Paradigm or Wolfman is over imo. Too many great razors now made AS well. The DART this month too.
Hi Stuart, Karve is certainly making its mark, but wondering if you've tried The Dart yet. I have been experimenting with new razors and just had my first shave with The Dart. I like it a lot! Aggressive, but not overly so, and great quality as well. Can you compare the two if you've tried both? I shave every other day, so "daily driver" is not too much of an issue, as my skin is always fine after 48 hours anyway. Thanks...Derek
Great video. Love my 6s and you are correct. I can autopilot a great two pass shave and almost be BBS. I see these on the forum and it's nice to see a review. Again, great job.
I've seen people comparing Rockwell 6C with the 6S. They concluded that the 6C was a smoother shave than the bead blasted surface than the 6S. I wonder how the polished brass of the Karve that you used would compare with the standard Karve.
I own or have owned a Charcoal L2, Wolfman .74, Blackbird, both Timeless gaps, Pils, Paradigm 17-4 and on. For pure shave and build quality (the threading is unmatched even by Wolfman) the Karve is as efficient as any of them but much smoother. It’s the finest DE razor made today.
I’m sold! This will be my next razor! I’m new to Safety Razor shaving. I actually got my angle down pretty quick. I’m bald as well and love it! Good review! Just subscribed.
Hi Ruds, I would like to know which razor you prefer the brass or the stainless steel razor better? And also which plate do you like better? Thank you. And great videos.
How shallow is the shave angle exactly? Especially compared to the timeless shave angle. Like a ride the top cap kind of angle? Thanks Ruds for all of the great feedback on all things wetshaving!
Hard to compare one to the other. The Timeless has flawless build quality and a specific head and base plate (.68 or .95). If that is your thing and you have the means, you cannot go wrong with a Timeless. The Karve offers more variability and less of a burden on the wallet.
Hi, I am new to wet shaving, what you mean by saying the razor requires the shallow angle when shaving? That's mean the handle need to be closer or farther from the face? Thank you.
Tough choices. The Karve and 6s have the ability to change plates if that is what you are after. Game Changer .84 is about the perfect shave though. For my money, GC .84 would be my choice simply because it shaves perfect for my style and I don't find myself ever changing plates.
Ruds Shaves Yes I’m the same, I find a setting and keep with it so just for the shaving experience in its self, the Gamechanger wins. Thanks mate, I appreciate your time to answer.
In my opinion there is not a large enough gap in premium feel, tolerance or shave quality to justify buying this if you have and enjoy a 6C and are on a budget.
Great video!! My favourite razor right now is my Rockwell 6s. I am wondering the the base plates you used ( was it C& D?) Which base plates on the Rockwell would you compare them to in terms of aggression?
Rudd is right on! I prefer plate 5 on the 6S. The D plate on the Karve is the best comparable plate to the 6S. I think the Karve is a better shaver, is more efficient and the build quality is very impressive! The 6S is a favorite razor of mine. I like the Karve a little more than the 6S.
I’m not sure why, but I don’t like the look of brass razors. This is probably the best looking I’ve seen, though I’d prefer it to be black or a silver matte finish :) It’s beautifully machined.

Excellent info for those looking for a direct comparison. Thank you for that and your continued support.
Open comb C plate considered mid aggressive?

Many thanks! I hope you enjoy the razor.
Stainless and Titanium is on the way mate! Love this razor! Better than anything I’ve used previously!
Nice review man! I always enjoy your honesty!
Very high praise! I am eager to hear about the different base metals. I imagine a Ti version would be amazing. Thank you.
Chris I’m not sure mate I will pop the question!
You're married. Your wife may have something to say about that! :P
Excellent review! I am waiting for the craze around the Karve to die down a bit and hopefully will be able to get one on a BST. Thanks for the video 👍
Thank you sir!
Nice review Rud. The Karve is gaining popularity quickly.
Thank you. It's amazing how they are blowing up the SOTDs lately.

This razor has become quite popular in short time. I love matt brass, so it's on my wishlist. Thanks for the review.💈👍🏼
Thank you.
Appreciate the details you've outlined as well as the opinions & info on the plates. Tops as usual. Thx!
Thank you. Lots of options with this one. It was important to let people know.
This razor is on my short list. Just need to decide the plates. Thanks for video. Have a great week.
Likewise and thank you.

Interesting. I assume it would slide easier with a proper lather.

Given your experience with premium razors, this is very helpful to hear. Thank you for the information and sharing your feelings on the razor.
Stuart Collins which blade plate are you prefer? Thanks
Paweł D - Daily shaves
E -Daily/48hrs
F - 48 hours and longer!
I agree. Extremely nice razor.
That is a great looking razor! Great and thorough review!
Thank you.
Excellent review Ruds. I own one of these as well as the Rockwell & I’d have to say that this one has become my go to razor of choice.
Thank you. I never thought another razor would challenge my Rockwell for daily driver status.
Hello Sr, what rock well plate would you compare the "D" plate on the karve, thank you
Hey Ruds I enjoyed your review. I have a short handle Karve and it's a great razor. I do love the Rockwell 6C the same as it though.
Thanks for your support.

Thanks for the sub. I hope you enjoy the content and I look forward to chatting with you on anything you want to know or discuss.
Howdy Ruds! I’m studying the Karve Brass OC (I prefer OC’s in general). I now just have to decide on the plate(s).
Cheers 🍻!
Good choice!
Great review Rudd....There sure is a lot of talk about the Karve....
They seems to be the most popular new razor at the moment. After spending over a week with one, I can see why they are love mostly.
Nice review. How does this configuration compare to your ATT setup?
It is less aggressive by a small amount. The balance and handle on the ATT set up is preferred though.
Ruds Shaves thanks Ruds. Good to know. I love my ATT razors.
Darren Cunningham what is ATT? Thanks
Fantastic review - thank you!
Quite welcome. Thank you for your support.
Hi Ruds, I would like to know which razor you prefer the brass or the stainless steel razor better? And also which plate do you like better?
Thank you. And great videos.
I prefer the SS because there is no patina factor. Plate D is my most used plate.
Thank you very much, very helpful information. Great, all of your videos that I have seen are full of wonderful information. Thanks

Riding the top cap shallow. Great question.
@@dendj55 Thanks Ruds!
An amazing razor! Love mine with the C plate.
The C plate really got me going with this razor. I think it’s the perfect starting point and for many, all they need.
Sounds like a C plate would equate to a 3 Rockwell?
What can you use to polish this razor to prevent patina or rust without stripping the paint or natural color? I heard Flitz is good.
I have used Mother's metal polish. Have not tried Flitz as yet.
Thanks Ruds. I gotta have it.
Hi Ruds
which Rockwell 6C plate would you compare with the D plate on this Karve razor?
Plate 6 is the best match for the Karve D plate IMO.
Another great and very detailed review. Another hard to obtain razor in terms of ready for immediate sale stock.
I saw they posted a 2-3 week delay due to demand. Thank you for your support.
The polished razor looks really sharp!
I agree, I think it looks better with that shine.
Nice review Ruds. How would you compare it to the Timeless?

Further from the face than I am used to. Thanks for stopping by.
Great review Ruds, I don’t know what to pick between the Karve the Gamechanger .84 and the 6s. Thanks for your opinion if you can buddy. 😉

Kool shave Smiley 👍😀
Thank you.
I'm happy with my 6c performance... Is this in your opinion worth the extra money to upgrade? I am at my budget max, so just wondering... Thank you..

Great video!! My favourite razor right now is my Rockwell 6s. I am wondering the the base plates you used ( was it C& D?) Which base plates on the Rockwell would you compare them to in terms of aggression?
I would say the C plate is close to Rockwell plate 4 and the D is like plate 5. Rockwell 6S is such an amazing razor.

@@steveschneider8163 Are your plates opened comb or closed comb?
