Hey, Jirard! In the Deluxe version, if you interact with the Drake, you can actually call all idle pikmin back to your base so you don't need to manually fetch them at the end of the day. It's an easily missable QOL mechanic that I didn't even know about until a few playthroughs in, and like many long-time fans, I skipped through the tutorials and probably missed where it tells you about that. It's super helpful and saves first-time players a lot of stress!
Its super helpful but it doesn't work on those pikmin that get stuck in a warp gate out of whistling range.
The warp gates and Lily pads are the cause of so many unnecessary deaths for me. (Especially when a boss corpse gets stuck in them)

The announcement of Pikmin 4 finally nudged me to try Pikmin 3. After playing the demo I immediately bought the full release, can’t believe I’ve ignored the series for over 20 years. Definitely going to pick up Pikmin 4 now
Maybe give one and 2 a shot as well. While the controls aren't nearly as tight, the games are still enjoyable.
@@jardex2275I second this. Pikmin 1 is a short but sweet & overall solid experience, and Pikmin 2 is my fav of the bunch. Both are a fun time worth checking out, especially now that they're on Switch!

pleasee do yourself a favor and also get pikmin 1 and 2, the controls may feel a bit clunky but they r still very good games with pikmin 2 being my favorite because of its difficulty though it can feel unfair at times

I believe their names were inspired by Mario and Luigi with Olimars japanese name “Orima” literally being an anagram of Mario.
So he may have mixed in the brothers part of Mario and Luigi when writing the script.

It did bother me a bit and I'm surprised he missed that, but Pikmin content is Pikmin content. If this gets someone to try the game, it was worth it.

Pikmin I feel is finally getting the amount of love from Nintendo that the fanbase has had since 2001, hopefully there is a new generation of pikmin fans on the horizon with all games being available on the switch!

I recently played both Pikmin 1 and 2 for the first time on the Switch and I'm so glad I did because it gave me a much richer appreciation for Pikmin 3 and the series as a whole.

I love this game so much. Definitely my favorite so far. The story is great, the controls are a lot smoother then the ones on the Gamecube, I love the new kinds of pikmin, the challenge modes are so addictive, and the final level is absolutely terrifying. I can't wait for the 4th one to come out.

I'm so glad it got remade. I used to watch let's plays of it as a kid when it came out on Wii U because I was a broke kid but finally being able to play it myself, it still holds up incredibly.

Olimar and Louie aren’t brothers usually I would be okay with this because he’s not a big pikmin fan, but he’s a trusted source for info if he gets something so incredibly wrong it makes me think what else he has gotten wrong

@@andrewericdavison the problem isn’t this small bit of wrong info it’s the fact that people go to his reviews for input on whether or not they should buy a game and if the info he gives is wrong people might think something that isn’t true which could cause them to miss out on a great game or waste their money on something they don’t like
I’ve been replaying the series since I saw pikmin 4 coming out soon and I’ve loved every second of it. Currently wrapping up a few challenges in 2 before I start 3 again.

When in any of the games did it say that Olimar and Louie are brothers? Louie is just another Hocotate Freight employee that was sent with Olimar to collect treasures to repay a debt that was actually Louie's fault to begin with.
Pikmin 4 is my most anticipated title right now. I love this series, 3 was an absolute blast. As always, Jirard, I love hearing your take on games!

Fun fact, the fact that the piklopedia has several descriptions on how to serve the enemies on a plate means that Louie hunted them enough to have enough meat to eat in every single way, including raw, picture that, Louie just taking on a bulborb with pikmin and then chowing down like a lunatic
I wouldn't say the Wii U version is as forgettable and worse as you say. It has less content yes, but the game is about 80% the same content wise imo, and it has far better controls on the Wii U. The Switch version is more convenient to play, that's all.
Having the map always displayed on the GamePad was such a huge feature, made multitasking so much easier.

I remember back in 2013 when I was reviewing this game for the game I work at. I was blown away by the photorealistic fruits, it was and still is a sweet and beautiful game! ✨
I love this game! Completing the game in coop last year was actually monumentally fun. Me and my friend had both already 100%ed it I think so we blazed through that game SO fast and it was so fun even though that sounds like a bad thing.
While I don't personally agree that Pikmin 3 is the best title to this day, I can definitely see where you're coming from. I personally found Pikmin 2 to be far more fun, for the simple fact that it didn't have a built in time limit, such as Olimar's life support running out, or having finite fruit juice to keep you going in 3. I loved the more laid back approach to simply scouring the land, looking for whatever treasure I could. I absolutely am looking forward to Pikmin 4 for that reason, since it feels like they took some lessons from 3, and then greatly expanded on Pikmin 2, for what I feel is going to be the best installment to this day.
But, my rambling aside, great job on this episode Jirard. Looking forward to the next one too.
Honestly Pikmin 3 on the Wii U in my opinion was better, the way it lets you control what your doing using the WII remote pointer controls is unmatched, it leads into such amazing gameplay and some people will never get to experience that on the switch which does make me kind of sad but glad to see its still good
I know there are retention reasons as to why you might wait to put your rating at the end, but I’ve really been loving how seeing it at the beginning has been setting the tone!

And yeah, finish it is certainly appropriate. There are a lot of time trials and stuff that aren’t necessarily hard to complete but painful to get perfect scores on

@@InnerRise Not really. They’re all pretty possible even with only 3 of my fingers working. The hard part is the one mistake in a 5-10 minute level that can cost you a platinum and force you to start the whole process over again

Bingo battles are my group’s favorite past time! We do that more than smash and Mario kart
Ultra-spicy mode isn't actually any harder, unfortunately... It just slows things down the tiniest bit, but you get such a huge overstock of juice regardless that you're still never in any danger. It's not quite as big as your overstock in other modes, but still pretty big.
I would've liked if the harder mode increased your juice consumption to be however many captains you have, with a fourth juice per day spent when you have [redacted-spoiler] on your ship to add some actual difficulty to it. I feel like even with all the existing changes for Ultra-spicy mode, this would still be a reasonable addition.
Also, I know this is a nitpick, but Olimar & Louie are coworkers, not brothers.

8:41 They didn’t send astronauts to look for food they sent unmanned drones, and Alph, Brittany and Charlie aren’t scouting the planet and were actually sent to PNF 404 with the mission of collecting fruit.

I was surprised at mission mode. I got platinum on first try 3 or 4 times while just getting bronce in others and having a real hard time getting it even at repeated attempts.
I also somehow got confused with the final location in the story and what I had to do.

I emulated Pikmin 1 on my Wii several years ago and fell in love with the concept but never got back into Pikmin until the announcement and then I got all 3+ demo on switch

Can't wait for my Pikmin 4 copy to arrive and this vid is a nice snack while I wait for it. Although, I'm still only about halfway through the most recent Sparks of Hope dlc so gonna finish up that first before I befriend and grow more Pikmin (and a good boy) in Pikmin 4.

I’m not kidding when I say I literally beat this game 30 seconds ago😂. I’m playing all of the games for the first time in preparation for Pikmin 4. I beat 1 and 2 on my Wii U a few days ago, and now that I have beaten 3 All I have to do is play hey pikmin and I’m ready for 4
I have not played any of them. I’ll definitely check it out now that 1&2 are now available on the switch

@@DjNinjaRj I’ve known about pikmin for a while now, but I’ve never paid it too much attention. Before the Wii U eshop close down I decided to buy the first two games off of it because I had heard good things about it and I’m really glad I did (especially because pikmin 1 and 2 are way cheaper on the Wii U then they are on the switch). Pikmin 1 is really fun. The story is simple, but really effective and even though I’m not good enough at the game to get the good ending I still really enjoyed my time with it. I do kind of wish there was a mode where you could have all the Time in the world and you didn’t have to beat the game in 30 days. Pikmin 2 is also really fun and a lot longer than the first game. However, it does have a few more problems than the first game did. There are way too many caves, and sometimes bombs will just fall from the ceiling, which is bullshit and really annoying. Overall though it’s a fun time. 3 was also really good and I didn’t have any of that annoying bullshit 2 had. I got 3 on my switch. I would’ve just gotten it on my Wii U but I found out the switch version had prologue and epilogue missions that weren’t in the Wii U version. I’m currently playing the prologue missions right now. Now I just have to play hey pikmin. I know it’s completely different from the rest of the games but I want to give it a fair shot. I’m definitely buying 4 when it comes out
