    Love my LTZ but HATE the blend door actuators.
    Deep shame on GM for those.

    I bought stock looking headlights from TYC just gave the front in a new look again as the originals were yellowing after 5 years. Also I got CAPA certified for better quality. The rubber seal that goes along the top was coming off with in a year as the stock ones did too. So I bought that 2 stage glue that you spray on the catalyst and it sets up immediately. That worked out real good.

      I was checking those out on Car Id. From their pictures, they look identical to stock. Did the set you received look the same? $180 a set is roughly half of what genuine GM's cost, so if they're like "factree" that would be a better route to go, IMHO, over the cheap Amazon housings..

      @@CertifiedShadetree Yes they looked just like the factory lights but I paid about 120 a piece for them on geekparts. This was about 3 years ago so I don't know what they're going for now. I kinda wish I got the black ones because I think they would look good on my silver

      Oh wow, right now they're $90.20 for the driver's side and $87.92 for the passenger side at Car Id

      I had a set from 1A Auto on my wishlist, but they've been discontinued. They were OEM housings in black and were $275 for the pair. Ah well..

    Those look pretty clean, maybe you should add some ceramic coating to those headlights to make it last for a few years in the coming time. Maybe if you want you can also retro fit em with projectors so you got a perfect beam

    • @CertifiedShadetree
      @CertifiedShadetree  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is definitely something I would consider doing with these housings! I've always heard the aftermarket housings are much easier to split open for retrofitting.

      Here's the link:
      www.trifectaperformance.com/store/category/97-36l-9th-generation-2012-2016/
      They send you a bootloader/tuner to connect to your car that contains their tune. They have 3 levels of tunes - the one I'm going to get is the "Advantage" or Level 1. www.trifectaperformance.com/store/product/2187-2012-2015-chevrolet-impala-limited-36l-advantage/
      This one basically lets you switch the tune on and off with your cruise control switch. It is similar to the tune the stock 9C1 police cars have. I will likely have a K&N CAI installed before I get the tuner, so I will tell them I have that and will request the 91 octane-only tune (I run non-oxy 91 all the time anyway, so NBD if I'm forced to use 91.)
      And I will most definitely be doing a video!!

    How does the the reflector cup cover the low beam lights? I had to bend mine in to cover the light cuz it was blinding from the side, and it was smaller reflector cup then the original too. Fortunately they were made of metal and easy to bend but a bit of a pain in the butt to do. Might be a different manufacturer than yours, but I like the look of them.
