@@haten4 I'm going to try one myself with a different design, and I was thinking that using yarn instead of floss would make it stand out more. I wasn't a fan of the blobs either, but I can see a lot of potential for this!
Hey guys, I am in the process of making this. The mirrors alone were a total of about $90 in ikea and then the trim was about $50 at home depot. There are still more materials I need but this project is definitely around $200 maybe even more.
I've been wanting a mirror like that for my bedroom for so long but they're either super expensive or just not the right size, I'm contemplating making my own now 😬
hey lauren, go for it! but one thing, please be sure that you use a good adhesive for the mirrors because, i've been there b4 and you know what happened....
That mirror is a great way to open up a space without needing to buy giant mirrors, and it still looks really classy, imagine getting decorative moldings & painting them metalic, there are so many different ways to customize this! & I have so many blind contour drawings I've done in the past that would look amazing on a cubism type background with inverted colors for the threads... I'm so inspired! Thanks for sharing!
y'all should totally make this into a series!! like you said, they explain so much in so little time that little (important) details do get missed and seeing y'all make it into a whole video in so much better (in my opinion) :)
I’m so glad you moved to the new space, it must be so much easier to do bigger DIYs when you can do them outside without carrying big pieces of wood up and down stairs! And although it was sad saying goodbye to the old space, this is a new chapter, with new makeovers and new ideas 😌✨ I am definitely trying the canvas DIY, I love embroidery!

Both of these projects turned out beautiful. Simple line drawing art always looks "elegant" (to me) in its simplicity to create an image so beautiful. The paint on the canvas and embroidery (with opposite color thread) was such a clever touch! It really was a creative piece and I loved the vibe it created when hung on the wall. The mirror panel (I initially thought), was just a creative idea to change the look of a plain mirror. The photo of it leaned up against the wall really changed my opinion! The finished piece was extraordinary! What a change to that space! Looks (of course) more spacious - but also adds a very professional touch to that corner - sort of an fashioned "window pane type of wall" (which you might only see in a high end type of space! Really love the look! Great results on both! Very thoughtful idea to video "reverse engineering" these projects with a break down and materials list for those of us not so adventurous! I have never watched "tick-tock" myself, so I'm not sure how many worth while ideas are presented that are worth the time to break down and instruct. However, these two projects were really worth the time and effort. Thank you again for showing us how!

I had those in my bathroom because they were very renter friendly and after moving to my house I was left with stacks of them under my bed. Thank you for the great ideas. Perfect as always. ❤

imo, both the canvas was too small, and the embroidered design on the canvas - but it WAS effective at showing how it was done, and can easily be upsized.

Love the video. One note to anyone who decides to make this though the lots mirrors need to all be the same way up. This sounds weird because it’s a square but I’ve had a problem in the past with the mirror image being slightly off when you stand between two squares. However if you just flip one of the mirrors the image will then be normal. Hope that makes sense and helps.

A note I’d add is that if you do the mirror diy be mindful of how humid it gets where you are. Adhesive strips expand and fall in humidity so if you live somewhere not dry you should take the glue option

Art pro tip: paint the sides of the canvas too, it will look more polished. Love this DIY!
