If you're like us and love scrolling endlessly through TikTok for DIY and home decor ideas then you've definitely seen these two DIYs on your For You Page at some point and thought "I really like that but still have no clue how to make it". So we thought we'd try these for ourselves but actually explain how to do it yourself! The first is a super easy line art canvas using embroidery and paint that is the perfect addition to any gallery wall, and the second is a massive IKEA hack industrial mirror! @@haten4 I'm going to try one myself with a different design, and I was thinking that using yarn instead of floss would make it stand out more. I wasn't a fan of the blobs either, but I can see a lot of potential for this!

At first, avocados... Then it morphed to cow print for me.
I've been wanting a mirror like that for my bedroom for so long but they're either super expensive or just not the right size, I'm contemplating making my own now 😬

hey lauren, go for it! but one thing, please be sure that you use a good adhesive for the mirrors because, i've been there b4 and you know what happened....
Hey guys, I am in the process of making this. The mirrors alone were a total of about $90 in ikea and then the trim was about $50 at home depot. There are still more materials I need but this project is definitely around $200 maybe even more.
That mirror turned out so well.
Art pro tip: paint the sides of the canvas too, it will look more polished. Love this DIY!
I still think this! It shocked me when in one of my painting critiques my instructor and peers were opposed to painting the sides of the canvas

That mirror is a great way to open up a space without needing to buy giant mirrors, and it still looks really classy, imagine getting decorative moldings & painting them metalic, there are so many different ways to customize this! & I have so many blind contour drawings I've done in the past that would look amazing on a cubism type background with inverted colors for the threads... I'm so inspired! Thanks for sharing!

A note I’d add is that if you do the mirror diy be mindful of how humid it gets where you are. Adhesive strips expand and fall in humidity so if you live somewhere not dry you should take the glue option
Are you serious?!? I was literally looking at my lots and lots of Ikea mirrors not knowing what to do with them. I had those in my bathroom because they were very renter friendly and after moving to my house I was left with stacks of them under my bed. Thank you for the great ideas. Perfect as always. ❤
7:23 should add a some gold foils here and there to give it a little pop by the green to really make your eye wonder

I’m so glad you moved to the new space, it must be so much easier to do bigger DIYs when you can do them outside without carrying big pieces of wood up and down stairs! And although it was sad saying goodbye to the old space, this is a new chapter, with new makeovers and new ideas 😌✨ I am definitely trying the canvas DIY, I love embroidery!

Normaly I'm the type of person that enjoys watching DIYs but is waay to lazy to do it myself. BUT this video got me thinking like daaamn this is so pretty and quite easy to do, it would actually be so fun! Yeeey I think i will definitely do this stitching painting cause firstly it's so my style, secondly I've been looking for cool new art I could do and thirdly my grandma would love this with another symbol on it! Hiya girls. OMYGoodness Becky! Great dang job on the canvas & floss. I can see that on a large scale. Kelsey that mirror is everything. Stunning.
Love the video. One note to anyone who decides to make this though the lots mirrors need to all be the same way up. This sounds weird because it’s a square but I’ve had a problem in the past with the mirror image being slightly off when you stand between two squares. However if you just flip one of the mirrors the image will then be normal.

imo, both the canvas was too small, and the embroidered design on the canvas - but it WAS effective at showing how it was done, and can easily be upsized.
