Becky, putting those screws in the book table to someday change out books was a boss move...genius! I like the color you picked for the wicker piece. Good job!
The threaded rods for the book table are GENIUS. Initially I was like “i mean that’s a cool table and all but WHAT IF YOU WANT DIFFERENT BOOKS” Love that you found a way to make that possible! And it seemed really attainable as a DIY too
I agree, total game changer to be able to switch them out! Though I did see a comment that said that the original artist made It to capture a special moment in their life and each book represented that time, which is lovely
The fact that you muted the “hey google” so it doesn’t activate the viewers google homes too is attention to detail and care that I absolutely adore 🥰 thank you editor 🤘
I dont have a Google device so I always have a freak out moment that I've gone deaf 😂 it takes these kinds of comments for me to remember other people actually own them and they get set off
go becky go!!! this is my favorite sorry girls video in a while..... your thought process voice over in the beginning was really enjoyable and the book side table was both original and well executed. go becky!
Same! The filming, the information shared, it was calming, relaxed, entertaining.. the part of Becky laying on the couch with the mic, I was like “wow Becky. Go Queen.” This video was the best of theirs I’ve seen.
Becky, you have the coolest house. I don't want much retro in my space but you do it _so_ well! Love the low wall shelf in your house that holds the Bauhaus print. I need more of these Becky videos where she takes us through her process start to finish. She's a creative queen with impeccable teaching skills and her woodworking projects/DIY upgrades are some of the most interesting. Really like how the book table came out. It's like a love letter to the books you want forever, but make it sustainable!
this has to be my *favorite* video you have done in a long time. the style of editing and video is INCREDIBLE. it's simultaneously a movie and a tutorial. idk why but there were moments that gave me La La Land vibes (just with the soundtrack music).
Becky and TSG, this is probably my all time favorite. I feel like we really got to know Becky on a deeper level, got to see the process of projects, and I love the final pieces. Love love love! ❤️
I'd found you guys 10 years ago looking for simple Halloween costume ideas, and here you are now pulling off literal sorcery???? THE BOOK TABLE IS INSANEEEEEE. BECKY YOU DID THAT!!!! ok got too excited bye
This book table is now, officially, my favorite Becky project. I am going to make this table! I was watching and thinking about how I have special books that are just in stacks or on a shelf, lost to the chaos. I love how this not only makes them special, but turns them into art. Useful art. Also, just as I was thinking: But what if you wanted to switch out books? BAM! Becky thought of that. I’m gonna do it too, damn it! Can’t wait! Thank you.
I’ve been watching y’all’s channel religiously for three or four years and I am so impressed with how you all have grown and changed. 💕 Your skills are constantly improving and I’m always excited for an upload each week.
You could also screw the glas on top of the table an make it hold to just one corner so you can turn the glas piece to the side the get to one of the books. in the other corners you could screw spacers. hope you understand what I'm trying to say :) Great work btw
WOW, I'm just loving this more honest and artsy kind of video. Showing a lot more of lifestyle and vulnerability in narration (I can already see Rachel's touch there in the team!). Great work Sorry Girls Team!
That book table has been on both my Pinterest board and Etsy wishlist for years. Glad to see you figured out how to do it and can try it myself. Loved the twist made to it. Also loved the Becky Ted talk that came along with it.
This was definitely my favorite video in a long time. I love the more relaxed/lifestyle vibe of the recent videos. Also always love going down a mid century rabbit hole with Becky. Lastly, the new set in the studio is so gorgeous. Y’all are killing it 😍
Oh my goodness, I think this is my favorite video format with you Becky!!! I felt like I was chilling with you talking out our ideas. So lofi and relaxed 😌
Becky these two projects are absolutely amazing! I can't believe you were able to recreate that book table. Absolutely brilliant! And what are the chances you were able to thrift that round piece of furniture to be able to make that dupe??? Fantastic work on these two projects girl!!!
Gotta say I am ALL FOR this video style. I like that it's showing the more realistic side of how a lot of us also work on projects in no specific timeline, and the artistic talking head segments with Becky were very pleasant. These projects came out amazing!
Becky you should totally make a series incorporating concepts with that awesome book from the 40s!!!! (Love you both your channel and you guys so much!) 💕
I was just thinking about the glass and then you mentioned it. Definitelly putting some glass on top to prevent beverages from damaging the books is the right move. Stunning table! And I love that you can change it up.
A magnetized piece of plexiglass could be really cool on top of the table. Drill small holes in the wood and then secure the small magnets down in the holes. Then adhere the other part of the magnet onto the plexiglass so it can sort of float on top and yet be removed easily.
This is one of my very favorite SorryGirls episodes, particularly the book side table and particularly the modification Becky made so that it can books can be added, subtracted and substituted. I agree with her that it needs a glass top. But it’s fantastic!
I really like this video style. Narrative and add ons of slice of life seems very comforting and calm ❤ loved both DYI, but book table is my favorite. Excellent statement piece for the room
I love this mix of scripted and unscripted! Hearing Becky's voiceover at the beginning talking about her Pinterest board was kind of beautiful and poetic. And then I've always loved seeing Becky and Kelsey in their homes doing DIYs. Perfect mix! Hope to see more!
Becky!! Literally my fave sorry girls vid of all time. Loved the projects, but also the time you took to walk us through your thinking and the fact that you validated that the creative process is not always linear! Lastly - the way you opened up about why the design books you chose for the book table was wonderful and made me feel like I was seeing a different facet of your interests. Keep it up - I’m here for it!!
Becky, you did that. I love how you went back and forth and allowed your creative juices to flow by distracting yourself with the other project. They both turned out amazing. I do that thing... standing in the store and staring at the materials until something comes, LOL. I really enjoyed this process, thanks. Awesome projects!!!
I love this video so much! The editing? Amazing. The rattan barrel shelf? So good. The BOOKTABLE? Sublime. Hotel? Trivago. In all seriousness, you have outdone yourself Becky and I love it! I can't believe I get to watch this content for free lol
The way you thought through making the book table modular and sustainable was pure brilliance. It would have been impressive enough just to engineer it, but to up the ante in this way just goes beyond.
Becky nerding out about the 1940’s book is the cutest and most fascinating thing ever! And now I want more content like that! Please, Becky, tell memore about your passion for mid century design!
I always love seeing the thought process that goes into you ladies' work. Makes me want to try my hands at a few projects myself. Also Becky you truly have the coolest style! You're home is straight out of my Pinterest pins 💕
Becky this video format was OUTSTANDING! The VIBE when you where in the couch... I cannot! Yes queen! Absolutely loved the soulful talks and the sass ❤ all the tiny finger snaps to you (and the team)!
I think the solve on the round bookshelf with the natural paint was great - it definitely needed a coat of paint - but the black would've looked stunning too! Great work on the bookcase/sidetable what a unique piece to have in your space!
I love how creative Becky’s projects always turn out!! I’m obsessed with the book table, it looks so good and I kind of want one for my favorite cookbooks!
I don’t normally comment but I just felt this video on another level. I can feel Becky’s passion and inspiration through the screen! I felt like I was hanging out with her and the small clips of making coffee, having dinner, painting her nails just really made more relatable. Keep up the great work TSG team!
This video is fiirreee!!! First, Becky talking out her plans and saying does this make sense.... YES and not only that but it’s beautifully logical! I am always so impressed by you and the whole team. 👏🏻🔥👏🏻
If you intend to keep those particular books in the table, maybe you could put some foam or wood spacer under the pages so they don’t sag and damage the junction between the cover and the pages
this whole video was beautiful to watch - not just in result but in process!!! kudos to nick and justin for the beautiful sights & sounds and to becky for her amazing thoughts and work!
I LOVEEED this video Becky you really came up with a strong style with the years and it shows that it's you, you look confident it's super cool to see ! But you also give real good life advices like not staying stuck on a project but move to something else etc.. Also I loved that you shared more of your inspirations with the book it's very interesting I'd love to see more design/architecture content. And to finish those two pieces looks STUNNING you're right the almond color looks wood like and really brings the parts of the shelf together and the no glue technique was genius and very sustainably interesting ! A big thank you for the quality content you're producing with the team lately I'm not commenting videos a lot but I wanted to tell you all of that 🤍
Thank you so much for not damaging the books! Love the idea of adding more books in the future. The glass top is also a stroke of genius! What a brilliant recreation with a twist!
Girl... Not going to lie, everything int his entire video is a whole mood. The undertones of the bleh time of year after the come-down from the holidays, the laying in bed with the fur babies with the blackout curtains shut, the project stopping points that can feel so incredibly difficult to overcome... This feels like a REAL video, if that makes any sense? The way it was presented, the lighting, the voiceovers, the frustrations of decision making when you're stuck... it's as brilliant as THAT FREAKING LITERAL COFFEE TABLE BOOK TABLE. This is by far one of the most personal videos this channel has ever put out and I feel so much comfort and less alone than i did a half hour ago knowing that I'm not the only one in this season of life. Cheers! Well done! [ ETA: STILL I am floored over the industrial piercing through the table for future modifications. I saw that same table, LOVED IT, and was immediately like "That is a static piece, like an art installation. It is meant to be a time capsule in a way, which is very permanent, so that wouldn't work for me," since, like you said, books come in so many different shapes and sizes. I am L I V I N G, QUEEN
I loved that you said "we're geeking out together" rather than something like "bare with me geeking out" because it was so inclusive and encouraging others to geek out with their passions ☺️👍 plus I totally was geeking out with you, such a fascinating book!
This whole process and watching how you design/develop was really cool. I also like that you commented on the ethics and sustainability of design and how this could be adapted/your process for that. Was really cool to watch.
I think the finish on the shelving unit looks a little rough. Could use a cane strip to finish the edges of the cane webbing you added. The book side table looks amazing though 👏🏼
I absolutely *adore* both of these - the adjustable nature of the book table was genius!! I also really enjoyed the vibes of this video, so chill and naturalistic. More of this style would go down very well 💜
I love this video so far, but Becky! You're totally overwatering your Pothos girly! Mine used to look JUST LIKE yours (@ 20:25) and I just had to stop overcaring for it. I'm a textbook overwaterer, but pothos like to dry out WAY more between waterings than I ever thought. Love you gals! ETA: The golden Pothos at the end looks GORGEOUS though! :) And that table?!? SHEESH!! It is SOOO beautiful and GENIUS the way you made it *Edit-able!* I love it. So much. I also REALLY like this style of video, like multiple other comments have said. This felt so chill and so intimate - a look into your creative process - and that is what I need more of in my life. I've got all the DIY projects I could ever wish to do, what I DON'T have is my creative flow down as well as you do. Make more like this please!
Ok Becky Lynn…I see you 😉! As soon as I saw the book table, I literally said "glue up" out loud, however the use of the rods & end caps is freaking GENIUS 🤯! The C&B inspired shelf turned out quite nice as well, I was in the minority for painting it black but it suits your home in the light color (& can be changed if you choose 😂). Thanks for sharing two fantastic ideas! Sending you, Austin & the entire TSG team lots of 🤗,💜 & 🙏🏻 for a healthy, happy & Blessed week! (😘😘 to Danny as well of course)
Becky is the ultimate DIY queen. I loved this style of video where you take us thru the entire thought process and that you let the diy sort of run it. I picked black in the poll but I definitely think the beige paint color you chose is perfect!
I loved the style of this video! You in different spots in your home....the thinking process, the brushing your teeth, standing in the home depot isle lol and sitting on the couch holding the mic LOL. Super cool. and LOVE the wicker shelf!!!
I love how the book table turned out, major goals! Totally unrelated but I had major throwbacks when you were having sushi, the EU banned styrofoam many years ago (eco friendly laws to reduce plastic waste) and I haven't seen a take-out container like that in so long, what a throwback! That sushi looked really yummy too *drools*
you sure whole EU? I've seen them in Gemany in the last few years, maybe even some other countries, not sure tho 🤔 but i would love to not see them anymore!
oh my god i’ve been subbed for like 10 years and have become more and more obsessed with what you guys make- like holy cow!!! that book table!!! genius!
That book table is incredible. And I'm so glad you went with a lighter colour on the shelf (I literally yelled NOOO when you discussed painting it black), I think it turned out really great!
These DIYs were amazing!!! Love hearing your thought process. This is definitely motivation for me to tackle my dream DIY projects. ALSO side note: what is the greenish chair/lounger you’re sitting in beside the bauhaus poster?? I need one!!!
Yes! It could even be cool to see the hollow bit from the side (especially if you vary the shape of the negative space removed. Optionally, to cover the removed bits add solid end pieces. Love this whole project!
Genius solution with the rods!! I’ve been holding on for a bunch threaded rods with really nice brass screws for years now, trying different ideas, but I think this is it! I know my grandpa who first kept them for years in his garage would be happy to see them used for something like this. I also love the geeky book talk! Nice to get a glimpse of what inspires you guys.
Fantastic results! I love that you found a paint colour that blended so well with the cane. My only recommendation for that piece is to add some cane cording along the cut edges so they're not quite so messy. But otherwise, you nailed it! Super cute result! Also, that book table is amazeballs! Can't wait to see the update when you seal it and add the glass. And I LOVE your solution to holding all the sheets of plywood together - genius! You can definitely add more favourites in the future! As a side note: I totally want to find a copy of Tomorrow's House now. Thanks for sharing that with us - it is a super cool "relic"!
cane cording is a great idea!! will defs post an update on IG when its sealing and the glass is added so stay tuned!! p.s you need to find a copy of it its amazing
Becky….so So fantastic!! That book table is absolutely fantastic and your change up of making it much more flexible with the extended screw pieces is just brilliant! I can see that becoming the hot new piece of furniture for 2022 and everybody’s gonna want one! So especially cool because each one would be customized to the books that one treasures….. Great tip about the cane as well I’ve always been really intimidated by possibly trying to retain some chairs but with your hint about soaking it in warm water and that allows for the tension to re-create once it dries I am feeling a little bit more courageous. Thank you!!!
One of the best sorry girl videos! The quality of that book table is so good. And that you made it changeable for the future with the rods. I wish you had put the glass top on in the vid but that seems like it will take a while, maybe an update for us when its completed? So good thanks Becky

literally such a great idea!!!
It was absolutely brilliant.
What’s the point if she’s going to add a clear coat and custom glass piece? Lol
@@smalpiper4999 assuming the glass piece will come off to access the books! the clear coat shouldn’t change the ability to swap out sections.
I’m sorry but the masking of the circle in Becky’s Bauhaus poster to show her book table sketching was SO GOOD!! I see you editors!! 👀👀
I was gonna comment the same thing! My creative brain exploded, SO GOOD!

I love everything about how they directed and edited this episode.

The book side table looks amazing though 👏🏼
i was thinking just a long strip of bamboo/cane strip wrapped around the entire thing and maybe near the new legs would be good too!
I think the cane should have been attached from inside. That's what the inspo picture had. Then it wouldn't have looked unfinished.
I absolutely *adore* both of these - the adjustable nature of the book table was genius!! I also really enjoyed the vibes of this video, so chill and naturalistic. More of this style would go down very well 💜
i think this is my favourite sorry girls video ever
I love the book table! The glass on top is a good idea
This video is peak Becky. Beautiful design, humor, and smart solutions to DIY problems. She's back in rare form and I love it 💛
this table is EVERYTHING and now I want to make it, too!
do it!!!!
Same 😊
I loved the style of this video!
@@Lara-ij1sw not all. Ireland still has but it's definitely been reduced x
I wish the US would ban single use plastics 😩😢
oh my god i’ve been subbed for like 10 years and have become more and more obsessed with what you guys make- like holy cow!!! that book table!!! genius!
That book table is incredible. And I'm so glad you went with a lighter colour on the shelf (I literally yelled NOOO when you discussed painting it black), I think it turned out really great!
Dsss7
This might be your best video so far. This was a whole production and the DIY’s were out of the park. Love it!
Always clicking so fast, I love you guys! I often replay your videos in the background so we can do activities tgt!
This video conception wise is great, but the delivery in both the filming, narration and editing is just beyond amazing. Fantastic work.
These DIYs were amazing!!! Love hearing your thought process. This is definitely motivation for me to tackle my dream DIY projects.
ALSO side note: what is the greenish chair/lounger you’re sitting in beside the bauhaus poster?? I need one!!!
Yes I need that chair!
If you watch the "completely redoing my walk in closet" video, you'll see Becky geek out 😊 over that "Togo style" lounger & where she sourced it from.
@@caz9542 omg thank you!!!! I missed that video
Beckyyyy!!! The rods in the book table was such a genius thought!!!
Cool!!
Re: book table: why not remove part of the “negative” space of the inner wood panels to make it lighter?
Yes! It could even be cool to see the hollow bit from the side (especially if you vary the shape of the negative space removed. Optionally, to cover the removed bits add solid end pieces. Love this whole project!
Yess! Depending on how tall you want your plywood, you could even add a shelf and use the negative space under as storage!
I even see adding a coloured block of plexi glass as an insert, VERY cool idea you had
These have been my favorite dyi y’all have done!!!! I was going to rec glass top but you got it already! Beautiful 🤩 🥰😍
One of the best sorry girl videos! The quality of that book table is so good. And that you made it changeable for the future with the rods. I wish you had put the glass top on in the vid but that seems like it will take a while, maybe an update for us when its completed? So good thanks Becky
