Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is an upcoming action role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix. Like its predecessor, the gameplay combines real-time action with strategic and role-playing elements. Set immediately after Remake's events, players control Cloud Strife and a party of characters Cloud and his comrades escape the city of Midgar in pursuit of the fallen hero, Sephiroth. The game features real-time exploration and combat, with a more open world area compared to the linear progression of Remake's Midgar.

@TokyoMystify Aerith is a part of the lifestream and the end fight occurs inside of the lifestream where Sephiroth resides, hence why it wasn't like the end of Remake where he allows Cloud to slash him, Sephiroth can be killed in this area and when he realizes that he can't completely take over Cloud's body yet he decides to fly away.
Also it's more than likely that Cloud is speaking to Aerith through the lifestream but he believes he actually saved her hence why we don't see the full og death scene and Cloud doesn't see the blood or her being dead in his arms nor gives his speech.

Man this gave me chills my 90s teenage years personified! Playing this game for hours during summer break. Truly a cinematic treasure!
I cried so much that I’m asking everywhere for confirmation that this will NOT connect to advent children.
I'm rewatching to catch all the differents Stamps. If effectively it's a multiverse, It could be canon to Advent Children.
AC could be the story in one of the different realities that they are building, while FF7:remake could keep expanding in different realities where plot elements happen in a different way.
@@adngel yeah I’m thinking that when the devs said it will connect they meant that as a SEQUEL therefore ac will happen but differently. This makes sense.
Wasn't it Sephiroth from Advent Children the one that's messing with time/whispers/lifestream to make Cloud fail and not defeat past Sephiroth in another timeline? Retrospectively it kinda connects but the ending of this in Part 3, we aren't sure if it connects to AC. So it's like FFVII / Crisis Core / DOC -> Advent Children -> Sephiroth Interferes -> FFVII Remake in another universe -> Unknown End

Ah, the Demon Gate, my most hated boss in the game. It's a shame the remake doesn't let us use Vincent yet. 🥺I quit the original game at that boss as a kid and then years later picked it up again and found out Vincent existed. He completely wrecked the boss solo with his limit break and became my favorite char. 😆
That fight looked like they were fighting Godzilla in a porter potty! No room to move!
To be fair, Vincent and Yuffie were completely optional in the original game so for the remake to include him in the story is kinda nice. Totally agree with you on the Demon Gate being a hard wall (lol puns) to overcome.
That Aerith scene was *insane*.

Glad they still kept the Aerith's theme playing during the boss fight.
It was a nice touch. I think it's because even in the heat of battle, they're thinking about Aerith.
Beautiful ending. Can't help thinking how much more powerful this would be if Aerith's death wasn't so well known
Yeah, it's so well-known that people are here criticizing it for not being scene-for-scene. And also saying it's unclear that Aerith really died when it's clear only Cloud can see her and hear her, though Nanaki could feel her presence.
I honestly thought it was very good, and I'm eager to see what happens in the rest of the game. Though, that was one tedious battle, agh.
Also, what the heck is up with Glenn, and was the "father's dream made real by the son" thing about Rufus and his father, or are they hinting at something else?
@@TailsFan yeah it carries extremely high standards (that I'm sure the devs were aware of) and I kept bracing myself for it the whole time.
I like that the very final battle is between Aerith (with just Cloud) and Sephiroth. It felt more personal and a nice send off for her character until this story gets wrapped up in 4 years.
As for Glenn, eh, he's being way too vague for me to care about what he said. We'll just have to wait and see.

Glenn is a character from the Ever Crisis prequel stuff.
His words about "father's dream made real by the son" could be something in regards to President Shinra seeking out and bringing about the glory of the Promised Land... unaware of the catastrophes that surround doing such.
Though it could also be something Hojo related.

“Boys come and go but True Friends will always last forever”. My heart cried when we see her mourn over the loss of her close friend. She already lost her father, her avalanche team members, and now Aerith. I hope the next game will explore her grieve of Aerith’s passing and hopefully they’d get to reunite as besties once again. 🤞
About to lose Cloud (at least his sanity) too probably in most of Part 3 :(

By the looks of this would change AC now - He knows he's got nothing to seek forgiveness for he actually tried to save her this time, and had closure from last moments which he didn't in the Main game. So I dunno feels abit all over the place.
Cloud would still feel guilt. He had all that strength, all that skill, and still failed.
Now this is a remake! Everything about the game was wonderful. To think, this is just the 2nd part of this game and there is still more to come. Thank you MK for the absolutely wonderful playthrough, cheers!

What a beautifully well done lovely game. I hope we get part 3 while we're still alive. The only thing I don't like about new Final Fantasy is it's linear instead of open world.

Knew I should have bought a Phoenix Down when they were on sale...
I've said it before and I'll say it again, how do people still not understand how Phoenix Downs work? They have literally never been able to resurrect the dead. Not one time has that ever been a thing in Final Fantasy. They bring an unconscious (but alive) person back to consciousness. That's it. That's what 0hp is. No amount of phoenix downs could have saved Aerith, even in-universe. If you're gonna make a joke it still has to make sense man, c'mon.

I cried like a baby at Aerith's death . I didn't play the original in 1997 so I feel the same as those who played it then , witnessing myself Aerith 's death for the first time . I feel how the original players / fans felt . It is worse because in the remake especially its more fleshed out as real , live characters . I have been here since 2020 with the remake and it hurts like hell for someone you got close to to die . I fell in love with her and it's like a friend being taken from you .
The original jenova fight i lost... I was upset, aerith died, and i couldn't concentrate. Was the 1st time that happened to me in a game.
Selected to cast beta, she casted reflect before Tifa could cast and I wiped out my entire party.

I know it’s coming…yet everytime I witness Aerith’s death it still gets me.
Aside from obvious heart pangs, Roche dying is the biggest for me. I liked him in the Remake, felt good to see another SOLDIER in the middle of the original story. I hoped that he will join the band later on - had all the requirements for that - but... they just killed him.

Technically, Cloud did get a beating from Sephiroth at the temple, but it was a mental one.
For someone who claims to not know how to pray, Aerith prayed pretty well.
Even when you know its coming, Aerith's death is hard to watch.
Zack and Cloud vs Sephiroth was not what I expected, but its good to see Zach playable at last.
'Nothing personal,' Cloud says as he slices and dices Sephiroth while thinking 'Yep, this is totally personal.'
Aerith's assist against Sephiroth caught me off guard.

Really? That seems extremely out of character for him, but I'm glad to hear that. I consider him one of the worst people (not as in morally, but as in talent) in the game dev world because of the absolute shit pile he turned KH into after taking control of it. Glad to know he at least learned something from that complete and utter train wreck.

This is the first time I have ever seen Barrett's Wife. She is beautiful. Gaming companies have gotten so good at making black characters look good over the years because it used to be terrible 😂
And it isn't woke or forced at all. Theae are actual good characters.

Heck even Yuffie who was an optional character back in the day has a lot more depth to her this time around.

While I do think the game was a fun trip i still think its so weird that all the way up to the end of the game, characters are STILL hitting single digit damage on some attacks and on crits during the stagger are only going to like 15 damage.

Simple
The Aerith Cloud can see is from an alternate timeline where she is alive
The timelines of the Final Fantasy VII Remake universe are all converging into one
This is why Zack survives his assault in the ending of Remake. That version of Zack is from an alternate Crisis Core timeline
some says in this universe, Aerith is dead, and that is her soul/ or ghost ....

Sephiroth has been controlling/influencing Cloud(hence his weird behavior )since they arrived at the temple. He did it to flex.

Thank You for this whole series. Unfortunately, it's not FF7 anymore... I think a better title for this game would be FF7 REWRITE.
So wait. First Aerith says the Black Materia is fake, and then it turns out the material is real, and the only reason Sephiroth was able to get his hands on it was because Barret couldn't keep his hands off of it? What the hell kind of second rate, coincidental dog slop is this? The way people were talking about it, I was expecting an Uncharted or Last of Us level story. But this is so far from good, I would honestly put it in the dumpster to never be seen again with the rest of the trash.
Okay, what on earth is happening right now. First Aerith and Cloud are sent to a different Earth. Then they have a little powwow as friends, and then she gives Cloud the White Materia. Then she takes it back? And all of sudden everything goes back to normal, like the end of the world isn't moments away? And what? Everyone is just having a nice little chat before it all? Good grief! What were the writers thinking when they made this? And this is somehow one of the greatest games of a century? Jesus, no wonder I never played it. I think I'm losing brain cells just by listening to this crap.

It will link to Advent Children. Aerith died and Tifa will retrieve cloud memories, however it is still not able to pull cloud out of it. Due to guilty of not being save the girl and also because he have the so called soldier degrade kind of thing so he couldn't feel any emotion anymore, that is why he left everyone. That how AC shown. So I believe it is link to it hahas. This game is so interesting!☺
