Grouper inhale their food not let it hang out of their mouth. The grouper is impaled by the spines and the Lionfish it not going anywhere. Probably in quite a bit of pain from the venom.

They literally eat great white sharks, manta and sting rays, large rorquals (baleen whales), seals, sea lions and dolphins. I think a grouper wouldn't be a problem.
