    Some people were furious about the prices and compare them in public markets. Wt heck. It's a matter of choice. If they cant afford it why go there anyway. These stores are selling imported good so what should they expect.

    Well, Costco in the US is also like that. $60 annual membership fee. And you cannot buy retail because items are in bulk. Items that are sold "retail" as one piece is a big piece. It caters to big families. But for individual this is not the place to buy your groceries.

    Well done and thanks!!!!!!! I went there for the first time and thought the same thing about the fruit, damn expensive but they've many imported products. I thought the steak selection was great, actual Western cuts of beef. Did you see the large squeeze bottles of Helman's mayo for 130P, buy 1 get 1?

    Hello, i guess the reason they do not have small baskets is because they categorize themselves as superstore or super groceries why they only have huge carts. Even in manila were i have been they don't have small baskets same as SnR. 😃

      Yes. This is a copy of Costco in the US, which is also like warehouse shopping and only has big carts. Costco in the US also has their own pizza and it tastes the same as Landers. So Landers (and S&R) are really copies of Costco.

    Big stores like these are for store business owners especially if you have a big sari sari store that needs to buy in bulk, but if you're single this is not a place for you. If you make 6 figures a month....those are inexpensive..12 bucks for a membership? that is twice as cheap as the USA...

    Looks like a fantastic place, I can't believe the prices of fruit that's far more expensive than here in the UK 950 pesos for two plums and 450 pesos for a small carton of blueberries, do you think there are enough people in Bacolod with the money required to shop at Landers I hope it survives as it looks like you can get just about everything you would need there and a nice environment to do your shopping in with a decent looking cafe as well.

    We ventured there the other day - what a big disappointment it was. A lot to do about nothing as far as I can see. Prices in general are joke, not sure who their target customers are, but I saw many 4x4 cars in the car park….so I guess I’ve answered my own question. No bacon they said….I gave up after that and we went for something to eat. Having to wait for someone to vacate a table took longer than expected, but finally we got one. We tried the fish and chips…not bad fish actually, but standard fries rather than chips. We tried the pizza too….very nice, I enjoyed that. Decent but limited menu…but it was fine for us.
    All in all, I can’t see myself going there too often - even if it is very close to home. We will return after a month to see if they have improved anything

      @enricovillanueva9978 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@leojustinegarcia1124 what do mean hahaha ha how ? In the United States we have had big box stores like COSTCO and BJ Stores since the 90's. They make their profit by selling in bulk and advertise products in low price. For example, the toiletries comes by in twenties per package. The meats and fishes like salmon are packaged in several pounds or kilos, more than a family needs for two weeks thus increasing their required caloric intake. People think because the packages are large, they think that they are paying cheaper price, instead of buying per unit price, like cents per ounces. Consequently, because of large quantities of food, the caloric intake is high resulting in diabetes and high cholesterol and triglycerides. So, hahaha yourself by getting educated and be a wise consumer.

    • @TheJChill720
      @TheJChill720 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Well, buying in bulk works actually if you have a big family. It's a matter of how you do the math and budgeting. I know that because I work at Costco for 16 years now. I don't know the pricing in Landers but it works the same way with Costco. I will definitely check that place when I get home to Bacolod early next year...

The selection of cheese was fantastic, but it is almost all produced locally and much cheaper elsewhere (if you can find it). Canned items like lunch meat and tuna were cheaper than SM. A lot of everyday items that we purchase in supermarkets in Bacolod are cheaper than other stores. There were some really good deals on sale items.
