I've been watching you for many years and it's always good, but this video is probably my favourite. It has a bit of everything, authentic, honest and good to see that a lost fish still hurts no matter how much experience one has. Your passion for, and promotion of our great pastime is valued and inspiring. And as always I learned something. Thanks Starlo 👍
Wow! Thanks so much for those very kind and generous words. I’m loving the TH-cam journey and hopefully that’s coming through in my content. It’s feedback like yours that makes it so worthwhile. 👍
I have to just add this. As a fisherman who would like to fish everyday but can't.. you could post 3 times the amount of videos and I will watch every one. Just to be close to the water, be a part of it for 10 mins is such a good feeling. Memories come flooding in.. only we can relate. The sunsets and sunrises. Thanks again and pls post more videos. You certainly have the audience. Cheers mate
Catching big bream in Tassie brings the kid back out of you. Love being out those classic grey Tassie days,,, while everyone else is inside eating chips and watching telly.
I've only recently started watching your youtube content, but used to read all your articles for fishing mags. Love your enthusiasm and expertise and look forward to more from you Starlo. Fishing for the humble Bream can be as exciting and satisfying as any form of fishing in my opinion. And you always come across as a genuine guy without attitude like so many these days.
Oh wooow that was an awesome video Steve. Catching bream up shallow like that is the bomb and that one on surface at the end, I felt your excitement. I hope you had more great fishing like this in Tassie, I can't wait to see more videos. 💜🎣
I consider myself a qualified fisho, 30 years fishing between The entrance to the south up to the lower mid north coast, successfully target every species i decide to chase other than bream.. Don't get me wrong i've been lucky enough to land some great models but every time i decide to go 'bream fishing' you can bet your bottom dollar it will be a day of small cocky bream and a decent random by catch, with maybe one or 2 decent breambos just to remind me I'm the problem not the location lol Lightbulb moments have been a constant in my fishing life, but I'm still waiting for that moment of illumination when it comes to yellowfin bream! I guess that's all part of the addiction that is fishing.. Tight lines Starlo, i'll continue to live vicariously though your Bream videos lol
Camo in dogtooth is good. Main line 100mm Dacron buffer 6o pound leader pink Andy 12 pound.😂 top gear have crack. Cheers top vid big chunk of country. Brilliant.
The biggest bream usually come up to new norfolk around December and spawn before heading back down river. Look for deep holes on the corners and you can have a fish a cast sessions. Vibes work best. If you’re down towards Bridgewater using a double clutch cast at the banks with a twitch twitch pause works well. Don’t be afraid to go big with your baits. I’ve caught some of my best trolling for trout on 110mm hardbodies. There are 50cm bream so don’t always think you need to go light.
Well don’t know whether you still around the Derwent now, but with the A.B.T Bream event there very soon, with form like that, reckon you should try and get a late entry in said comp as a non boater. Roll back those years Starlo.
Thanks for that. I certainly had no trouble getting my five and then some, but I reckon you’d need five that were all bigger than my best to be in the running for an ABT podium finish.
Hey starlo. Can you tell us the specs of the Enviro net you're using in this clip...looks perfect and I bought one online from BCF and you could fit your whole boat in the thing 😁 Plus my research only showed a few and limited models 😥
Gotta get the bites in the first place though. Shallow, clear water… definitely more takes on the light stuff, I reckon. But it’s always a balancing act. 😉
A great shame as even years ago on river cruise I thought what a fantastic waterway next to Hobart if it could be restored. So much for Tassie " clean & green " reputation.
@@michaelcalder9089 yes, the damage was done a long time ago but will also last a long time. Very little pollution going in now but some of that stuff lasts for centuries and there’s no easy way to remove it. We pay for the sins of our past…
It’s always humbling to get smoked… Keeps it real. I should’ve been on top of that fish a lot quicker than I was. As I said in the vid’, rookie error. 😕
Bread and butter fishing. Getting back to basics. Light gear, playing the fish and fun.
For sure! 👍

Great spot along there good size bream. Some big resident browns there aswell. Great time if the year 👍
Sure is .
That was a good session. All those bream were pretty solid. Tassie is getting more appealing!
It’s got a lot going for it… apart from the weather! 🤣

Absolutely great session mate, I agree and it took me a long time to realise that the lighter the gear the better the fish. Cheers starlo thanks mate.
Thanks 👍
Love your work starlo
Much appreciated!

Absolutely brilliant video Starlo thanks mate 👍💯for sharing your experience and passion with us 👍
Glad you enjoyed it! Lots more coming…
Nice to see you on my local river. Last month I hooked and lost potentially the biggest Bream of my life not far from where you were fishing.
No way! Yes, I'd imagine there are some beasts in there...

@@brendan3008 nice! Thanks for those tips. 👍
Great episode. I love the action with surface lures on bream. Thx Steve.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great vid. Thoroughly enjoyed it. I need to dust my gear off and get out!
You should!
Great video Starlo as always. Were you throwing all of those lures on the same Anarchy rod, if so which model was it? Keep up the great work 👍
Thanks! I was using the Anarchy 702 Light Spin.
Great fishing
Cheers!
Great episode Starlo! 👊🎣

Hey starlo. Can you tell us the specs of the Enviro net you're using in this clip...looks perfect and I bought one online from BCF and you could fit your whole boat in the thing 😁 Plus my research only showed a few and limited models 😥
I think mine must be the NETFML1000 model... not the XL one (they're huge!).
Good one Starlo, enjoyed it. May I ask what rod was you using in this clip ??
Shimano anarchy 7 foot 8 2 piece 1-4 kg
Tbh if you want to get an anarchy rod you are better off getting the 7 foot 2-4 kg
Nailed it.
What rod n reel where you using please Starlo. Am looking at a stradic 2000 and I like the rid you where using a real nice curve when hooked up cheers
Cheers! It's the Shimano Anarchy ultra light spin. Nice rod.
cheers starlo ive currently got an anarchy 2;4kg with a stardic 3000 on it and its a nice rod
Gday Starlo, can I ask what brand are your polarized sunnies?
PS bream hitting a hard body, fishing at its finest.
They're MAKO brand. I've been wearing Makos for well over 10 years now. i really like them.
@@StarloGetsReelcheers 🤙🏻
Hey mate, just wondering what braid you are using? Cheers
I use both PowerPro and Shimano’s Kairiki braid.
Sweet mate, thanks
I don't catch enough fish to gamble with 6lb line lol... Even if I do catch a few and lose a few I'll be thinking about the losses too much.
Gotta get the bites in the first place though. Shallow, clear water… definitely more takes on the light stuff, I reckon. But it’s always a balancing act. 😉
Better at night ASARI 55MM NQ PIKEY LOVE THEM ONLY 4 COLOURS BUT.😂 BEST 68 TOP LURE.
Fair enough!
What shoes are you wearing in the boat
Shimanos version of Crocs. 😉
A beaut estuary but isn't it polluted with industrial waste? Paper mill dioxins, heavy metals discharges, etc?
Sure is. Arguably the most polluted major estuary in Australia. I certainly don’t EAT the bream out of it! 😉

Didn’t have the fly rod on board. Would’ve been good! But I do have a whole playlist of bream on fly vids on this channel. Have a squiz. 👍
