Hi Tom great tips and hints there mate. I see that you band worms on, can you explain just how you mount them on the band and what bands do you use. Thanks in advance of your answer. Cheers Andy.
@8:33 you mention the ones that turned will float to the bottom. I'm assuming this was an error and you meant to say top? Would'nt want everyone now throwing away all the sinking casters 😂
You can freeze maggots without them going black or going manky. The secret is defrosting them in water. Take them out of freezer and submerge them in a container full of room/air temperature water. In a few hours they will be defrosted and look undamaged and 'natural'. You can keep them fresh by changing the water a couple times if you defrost them overnight. I keep unused maggots in old ice cream tubs in the freezer. You can store Casters for long periods in sealed used 'pop' bottles kept in a cool dark place. You have to open them occasionally and remove any iffy ones but if you keep the lid on tight they can last a while. Matchmen like Jaime Hughes make their casters last for a several weeks using this method.
Great advice Tom...I've made those mistakes a few times especially with maggots....I actually do use the soil with my chopped worms though because on one perch session a few winters ago I had a red letter day...3 perch over 2lb and 6 carp to 24lb so because of that I've never changed my method...and now the lads can't take the piss when I use my alcohol gel on my hands because I'll show them this video...if its good enough for maker 😉😂👍
Top advise Tom. When do you think is the best time of year to use particles, eg hemp maize and tigers. Mainly maize and tigers as we al know you use hemp whereever you go and smash it up as always. Tight lines
Hi Tom, great video, packed full of useful information. Have you ever used lob worms instead of dendrobaenas? I've used them for everything other than carp over the year's and had some good catches, bream, tench, eels etc, even pike have taken them on occasions. They are much tougher so could be an option when the nuisance species are being a pest
I noticed alot of anglers filling the spom on the side with the spring release on i would say this is wrong as the other side has a wall to stop the bait going into the working part of the spom would i be right or wrong doin this
Great video as always Tom 👊

How many spombs do you put out first thing and how much natural bait do you include in a kilo mix

They are much tougher so could be an option when the nuisance species are being a pest
So would it be good to split the worms into bags for enough to make 10 spod loads so you don't waste any or is that to much
What floss is that it looks wide?
👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘

Can anyone tell me, do casters have a cheesey smell to them? Or is this a sign that they’ve spoiled
Try getting them in a bag from angling direct 😂😂
fox luggage but works for korda 😮
@@mattcarnell4763 this was filmed last year before Tom was with Korda
@@CineCarpTVhe's better of with korda I think better personal
