  • The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso is the latest of a long line of front-engined V12 cars from Maranello. But with four-wheel drive and a quirky "breadvan" design, does it still have what it takes to compete against other four-seat GT cars like the Bentley Continental GT? Find out in this full in-depth review.

      First world 🌎 problems. My car has no navigation, busted mirrors and drivers window won’t open. Yet I feel lucky to have it, I certainly don’t take it for granted... for every douchey trust fund kid driving the latest Mercedes or Lexus, there’s 100 people waiting for a bus or train because they can’t afford a car. Even a city parking space is for the elite. Some parking spots in Boston area cost more than my apartment! If I had this Ferrari I would have to sell it because I can’t even afford the maintenance... ever wonder how much to change the oil? If you have to ask, you can’t afford it...

    To those criticizing Matt when he shook the KIA Stinger's centre console to criticize build quality, look at the way he criticizes Ferrari's interior bits too. Ferrari is notorious for blacklisting journalists who even mildly criticize their cars.

    • @devradha9793
      @devradha9793 6 ปีที่แล้ว +35

      Yes your right, the best is to appreciate other peoples work :) Ferrari does great job. We are not this material body. We are the soul. The body is like a dress. The ferrari is not important. It is the driver who is. Without the driver the ferrari cant´t run. Similarly. We are the soul driving this material body. Without the soul the body is dead. we all have different bodies but have we seen who we really are ? Do you really know yourself ? Do you know your body and mind only ? . If I have a parrot in a cage and only take care of the cage polishing the cage the parrot will die. Similarly if we only care about the body and not give the soul spiritual food we will always feel unfulfilled. We need to feed the soul too. There is a scientific process how to do that. Listen to this th-cam.com/video/jekpMUOJxxU/w-d-xo.html . Tell me what you think ? I can show you the process

    The term, 'Shooting Brake' is of British origin denoting a vehicle designed to carry both hunters and passengers with their guns together with other paraphernalia when going shooting pheasant, duck etc. A Ferrari shooting brake on the other hand may be designed for a mafiose party when traveling to a meeting when offers that cannot be refused are made following which a quick escape is guaranteed. Gotta love those Italians!

    Shooting-brake is a term for car body style which originated in the 1890s as a horse-drawn wagon used to transport shooting parties with their equipment and game.
    The first automotive shooting brakes were manufactured in the early 1900s in the United Kingdom.

    my favorite Ferrari too, the name change from FF seems to be most relevant to the tail lights, since both names convey the same thing. The v8 model is available only in rwd, maybe its the handling model, like a special type hot hatch. I think depending on the configuration it compares to the Porsche Turbo S, Panamera, Bentley Continental, Aston Martin Rapide (v12) or the GT2 RS, Carrera S, Corvette, NSX , GTR and any other regular supercar in (v8) rwd mode due to inherent handling benefits from the lighter engine, regardless of whether Ferrari gave it special handling boost like a GTi model treatment.

    Shooting brake is a term derived from hunting when larger bodied vehicles would be used to transport parties of hunters to and fro. The term began to be used for large bodied cars and in particular estate cars. Nowadays shooting brake usually means a sporty estate car, especially those in a 3-door body style.

    A shooting-brake is a car body style that has evolved through several distinct meanings over its history.
    "Shooting-brake" originated as an early 19th century British term[1] for a vehicle used to carry shooting parties[2] with their equipment and game. The etymology of the term brake is uncertain;[3] initially a chassis used to break in horses, and subsequently used to describe a motorized vehicle. It is also possible, that the word 'brake' has its origins in the Dutch word 'brik' which means 'cart' or 'carriage'.
    The term was later applied to custom-built wagons by high-end coachbuilders and subsequently became synonymous with a station wagon or estate car

    The term shooting brake comes from the horse drawn wagons used to transport hunting parties. Eventually when cars started to have the body style, it was for the purpose of carrying the long rifles/shotguns in the back as well as other people and ammunition, hence the longer roofline.

    I am a car guy who owns and has owned mainly German cars and 911s but I thought about getting a Ferrari a few times but never did as I think they are just "taking the piss" when it comes to service costs and total lack of consideration for their customers! I understand the game of charging ludicrous amount for options and I have given up on being offended by that but, being a scientist by training (and considered becoming an engineer), I would like to know who designs a car that needs its engine taken out to remove cam belts every 2-3 years? Was that done on purpose so that customers would have to pay for a >£5k service every 2-3 years? Even if it might have its advantages in racing, it probably makes no difference whatsoever on the road or for track days. When I hang out and talk cars with Ferrari owners and they tell me about their £10-15k service bills for modern Ferraris, I just can't understand why would anyone pay that for a regular service + 2-3 minor repairs which shouldn't need being fixed in other cars that recent. Porsche is ludicrously expensive (I paid almost £700 recently for an air mass censor which would only have cost me £100-£150 for a Boxter and less for any other car .. and the parts are not that different) but Ferrari is on another level of disrespect.
    That being said, I almost bought an F355 a few times and that is the one Ferrari that is haunting me. As to modern Ferraris, I find the GT4 not as well designed as the Porsche Panamera break which is a beauty, I find the 488 way less pretty than the 458 and I hate these door handles ... hence, my two favourite Ferraris would probably be the California T and the 812 none of which I have tried so I wouldn't know if I would enjoy driving them or not. For a track focus car, I would stick with 911 GT2/3, a McLaren or maybe a Huracan Performante.
    Still hoping to meet Matt at Bruntingthorpe for a 996 amicable race :) but I haven't been there for maybe 8-9 years.

    • @innerhammer
      @innerhammer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Service cost you say? There is no service cost for a Ferrari actually. If you are a scientist, why don't you study about their "7-year free maintenance plan" which comes as a standard?

    • @Photoandcargeek
      @Photoandcargeek 6 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Inner Hammer for a new Ferrari... Not for an older one purchased new or second hand before that existed. Also the second your free services end, you are good for a treat. (Also I don't flip cars, I buy and rarely sell so I do end up keeping my car's for more than 7 years .. I still own my first car which is a golf 2 that I bought second hand from my older brother).
      By the way, I know we are on internet but there is no need to be disrespectful)

    • @innerhammer
      @innerhammer 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      "has owned mainly German cars and 911s" and you keep your cars more than 7 years, hey how many cars end up in your garage now? If you got so many cars, mainly more-than-decade old ones, no wonder you are very keen on service cost.

    • @Photoandcargeek
      @Photoandcargeek 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Inner Hammer my last one is 4 years old. I have for quite a few cars across 2 countries. I care about maintenance costs because all my cars are almost as good as new except maybe for a few stone chips and a few trim rattles but mechanically they are as good as new. But it is not about that really, I am happy to pay a fair price for service, I am not happy to pay ridiculous amounts ... I mean a major service on a 911 can be £1000-1500, which is 2-3 X the price of a non sports car. Having to pay 5-10x that amount for a Ferrari is ridiculous in my mind, I would rather use the money to buy another car every 3-4 years like a hot hatch or a Caterham ... At least these keep their value better than a service.

    The small side indicator light is a trademark of Ferrari cars, not only of this model, all of them, La Ferrari is no exception and I love it. It's the same mounted on the old Fiat 500, the car that put Italy on the roads. I like to think that it was one of the few available when Mr Ferrari built cars decades ago and then they sticked with it, however I did not research it yet. So nothing cheap about it, it's part of the great Ferrari tradition, one of those little details any Ferrarista could not do without.
