    I live not far from where Leeds train and I’ve seen bielsa in person several times in (Wetherby) town, just casually walking to Morrison’s, he often sits in the local costa with other staff members. He walks with his head down dressed in normal clothes with a backpack and when he’s recognised he’ll raise his head and say hi with a smile. Due to current situations I’ve not had a chance to take a pic with him or get close enough.

      Next time you see him, just tell him, even across the street; "Buen día Paisano, una foto?" (good-morning" countryman or little town man") or "Buenas tardes Paisano, una foto?", (after noon). I'm sure you'll make his day. Well done Leeds 20//21! 🧉

    • @PhilWhelanNow
      @PhilWhelanNow 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Leeds position in the league next May will help determine if his methods are still innovative. Pep’s certainly taken inspiration from Bielsa, but the increasingly dominant approach is coming from German league coaching, and Ralf Rangnick, valuing position more and possession slightly less than the previous possession dominated approach.. Bielsa himself has made the point that he learned some completely new things from Chris Wilder’s system of play. He is an interesting guy but watching the Leeds team, it’s conceding plenty of goals. If Bamford gets injured, or Phillips, they’ll probably struggle. He’s not exactly won a bunch of trophies has he?

      Messi asked the board this summer but bielsa would never go. He goes to clubs where there is a challenge presented to him. He likes to go to clubs where he makes and improves the players. He wouldn’t be doing that at Barca with the likes of Messi. That’s why it annoys me when people say bielsa can’t be that good cause he hasn’t won trophies. He doesn’t go to top 6 clubs. If you saw the state of this Leeds team 3 years ago and where they are now. It’s just crazy. Mark my words, he could walk into any top club in Europe and he would win the Domestic league and Champions league. That’s not delusional. That’s Facts.

    For Poch talking about Bielsa is referring to one of the best managers of all-times. Unfortunately, El loco hasn't won lots of titles, as a matter of fact, he was about to win one in particular, Europe league's final with Athletic Bilbao in 2012, it was extraordinary football team composed by Llorente, Muniain, many footballers else. On Poch, he must be Argentina's next manager because not any Argentinian manager takes an English team like Tottenham to a UCL's final.

    Bielsa is fully imbedded into the Leeds project. He will be fully involved in the building of the new training ground which is closer to Elland Road. He has already said that he wants to have a major say in the community project that will run alongside that training ground. He has now been with Leeds longer than any other club side he has managed and I think he will be fully involved in the selection and recruitment of his successor when he finally decides to leave. Unless the owners decide to do something against his wishes I think this may well be Bielsa's final job before retirement.

    Nothing to take away from Bielsa, the man is a great coach and knows the game extremely well. However, I’m sick to death with this media hype about Leeds. They are a newly promoted club who’s caused a bit of a stir so far this season with City and Leeds. Yes Bielsa has turned this team around without any star players, yes they are promoted but we need to stop saying that Leeds are a top top club which are going places this year. They’ve only beaten Fulham and Aston Villa. Soon their tactics of high tempo and constant high energy will get found out! Just need to be brought back down to earth and stop fantasising.

    Just A Theory :
    Maybe Marcelo told Pochettino to go back home and tell his father about him signing for Newell's .. the way it happened .. is because
    1) Bielsa would have definitely sense the weirdness he created at Pochettino household by coming late and checking the legs and all and just wanted the parents to provide the context of his obsession.
    2) Pochettino's father surely must have considered Bielsa a whack job and Bielsa being Bielsa, did this to let him know that he will make his son an international player and kind of in a subtle way, improve on his weird first impression.

      His morals and philosophy mean he likes projects where he has full control and feels valued. It’s reported the research’s the city and the local population as much as the club. It’s why it works at leeds so well...
      I mean, he made leeds player pick up litter, for a few hours, just to show the price of a ticket at minimum wage. Can’t see that happening at Man U or Barcelona!
