    I agree with Miki Fin. The thumbnail is a fraud cause thats the only way these guys get hits. Reporting as well. Cant see this video being around for long at this rate of complaints

      Well it's still up 11 months after you called it out RotorWing. As a result, I gave it the thumbs down & unsubscribed. Might come back if the phoney thumbnail is removed. Doubt it because it's about $$$ not authenticity.

      @@tonybrown9779 Hi Tony, I am not signed up for ads so its def no for $$$ Even it was I think it takes millions of views to make a few cents? Check out my latest downwind video. As a paddler I think you will love it. My apologies for using a surfski in waves to advertise a video of a surfski in waves. It is a bit misleading but hardly a major crime. PS I subscribed to your channel. I have a lot of paddling mates in Oz, I am sure we know some of the same people.

    generally a decent vid. But got a /report from me for miss leading thumbnail, sick to death of it on youtube. Still at least it wasn't the obligatory hot chick in lurid pose thumb nail.

      +Miki Fin Thanks for the feed back. I did the misleading thumbnail on purpose as test to see what drives views. You will see all my other videos have thumbnails taken from the video. Misleading thumbnail works sadly, as this is my most viewed vid, but also the vid with the most thumbs down, as deserved. At least the thumbnail is genuine pic taken at a genuine local event. Apologies for the deception. have you visited our facebook page, Durbansurfski and website durbansurfski.com?

      +Rob Mobius I believe the chief reason ppl use misleading thumbnails is to increase views in an effort to monetise their channels and make money out of youtube. Why do you need more views? If you are simply sharing a video with the community who has a passion for surf ski's then with the appropriate title they will find it, and the appropriate target audience will be found. As someone close to 50, I find the concept of making money through youtube views as pathetic, but hey that could be just me :)

    you know you can replace the thumbnail, don't you? What makes you keep it when you see so many negative comments and yourself admit it is misleading?

    Reporting for fake thumbnail

      Shew, I was getting worried. It's been 11 months since I was last reported for this thumbnail. I was beginning to think my fellow TH-cam viewers had evolved and now spent their time dealing with the larger issues. Thankfully not. Also I checked out your channel. Thanks for your videos Dmitri, the time and effort you spend creating them, sharing and making the world a better place is much appreciated. Please accept my apologies for showing a picture of a surfski on a wave to advertise a video of a surfski in waves. I acknowledge they were not of the same session. TH-cam should ban monsters like me.

      @@Robmobius wow, such a long and passive aggressive reply when 'sorry i put up a fake thumbnail to attract attention to my boring video' would have been sufficient (along with removal of said thumbnail)

    Thanks Deon. Have definitely surfed more hectic waves but we don't do it often because of the risk to surf skis. Sorry u did not enjoy the more chilled out footage. I'll be sure to post more hectic stuff the next time I get a chance to film in hectic conditions.

    I am sure you have surfed more extreme days than this. Rather video tape the hectic days.

    Bliss. Great vid, Rob. Many distant memories of cracking waves there, and paddling double with Paul Chalupsky. What are the two tracks you played?

    • @Robmobius
      @Robmobius  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Greg Smith Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the kind words. Paul stil paddling. Tracks were just stock tracks chosen from a track bank.

    I dig your video. I knew the thumbnail was fake lol. The waves are nowhere near that high in Durbz haha. great surf ski and technique, friend! Maybe I'll catch you on the water one day

      Hi Chase, thanks for the positive words. The pic was taken at La Mercy Beach which is 20km NE of Durban.

      Robin Tindall Oh wow that's La Mercy? Must have clearly forgotten Durban haha I used to do a lot of Kite surfing by the lagoon there

    Hi Ralph, the fake thumbnail is just far too successful. It creates hype and interaction, comments and emails. Some good some bad, but it's activity. Thanks for your comment. Rest assured all other videos have and will have accurate thumbnails.
