I remember you doing a huge north easterly surf ski paddle from ballito beach. I was working as a lifeguard at Umdloti where you beached, gave me massive inspiration, legend.
Thankyou so much for this video. I really felt your words. I have just started surf ski. And although I can't go in conditions like you yet. I just love the quietness you get away from life's dramas. And nature helps to teach you to stay calm when you're out on the water. It is truly a humbling experience been out in the ocean on surfski. Being one with nature and remembering how powerful nature can be.
you're an inspiration my man. don't sell yourself short though, that kind of access to challenging conditions didn't cost nothing, it took decades of experience and thousands in gear.

I have done paddling in a seakayak, in winds around 46knots, it was safe and fun but reminded very much survival situation, where conditions are way over physical and mental limits. Your videos are always so good, and super helpful. I love your philosophy too, keeps grounded!

Ive done some scary remounts in ICE cold water and gale force wind. But watching the runners there man looked like u were free wheeling dpwnhill unreal.

Actually we don’t have any OC1 in SA to my knowledge. It’s mainly because you have to mainly get out through waves. An OC1 should be able to do this run

First video I've ever seen of you, I'm a big fan of white water kayaking but surf skis are definitely on my list of things to play with.
Yes you will love surfski and it very similar to whte water but just bigger waves
