This video reminds me of a great Larry Sanders quote I heard some years ago....."There are two types of people that wear sunglasses indoors, blind people and assholes." So funny that guy.

I’m not sure if it’s covered but at 28:00 you’ll notice that the top rails of the carrier extend all the way to the front. On a regular mil-spec the rails don’t extend past the cam pin. This gives the system a lot more stability.
As far as the cam pin is concerned, that thing is HARD. I have the newer design and I diamond filed a witness mark so I could make sure to put it back in the same orientation after cleaning. It took forever just to put a shallow barely visible notch on it. Very impressive. This is definitely the best bcg in existence and it is _not_ overpriced

Pull the bolt back on your super duty rifle and look at the cutout for the cam pin, then do the same with a different rifle. You'll see that geissele didn't change the cam pin design on newer rebcgs, they just can't use their cam pin design for carriers that aren't being used in a geissele upper

Mil spec is a set of standards and tolerances set by the TDP spec..Most commercial AR rifles and parts do not meet mil spec, let alone surpass them...The Geissele enhanced bolt is claimed to last 5 times longer than a standard mil spec bolt.. If true, then it might would be worth the cost.. Add the cost of 5 mil spec bolts to one Geissele and you will get your answer..The military changes bolts approximately every 6000 rounds as routine maintenance.. It is the higher residual pressure that caused the bolts to fail with the carbine length gas tube rifles, not dwell time..LMT made the cam pin channel longer (on their enhanced bolt carrier) on the straight part to allow more residual pressure to drop before extraction occurs with the carbine gas tube rifles ..The down side is the enhanced LMT BCG would not work correctly with the rifle length gas tube..

The inside of them ought to be Chromed Lined. Every one I have had in my hands have had the inside of the Gas Key and the inside of the Carrier.
Now that isn't me saying anything snarky or coming off like a A-Hole because you could have seen something I missed. Also some folks (not referring to you) some folks think that these High End AR Manufacturers cant make a mistake, that is B.S. I will never own another Daniel Defense AR. I might buy a Rail but not a Barrel or complete Carbine. I had one where the Gas Port was not drilled at the 12 o'clock position but the friggin 3 o'clock position. Sent it back took them 3 months to get it back to me. That installed a new Barrel. Well I kept having issues with the damned thing so I took it apart and you could unscrew the damned Barrel Extension with your fingers. Got that Warrantied, put it back together, made sure it would shoot and sent that P.O.S down the road. I did tell the guy i sold it to what had happened because I couldn't live with myself if dude had to use it in a Slef Defense situation and it didn't run. I also had to send back one of Knights SR15's back 3 friggin times. That wasn't anything like the Daniel Defense i had it was little aggravating B.S. All that with those Manufacturers but i haven't had a single issue out of any of our S&W's and Diamondbacks. Also SOLGW & Noveske are friggin sweet AR's.
Damn i turned this into a friggin book, sorry about that 😂 have a good day 🤙🏻

Gasses entering the face usually come from the gap between the upper receiver and the charging handle. Purchase a charging handle like the Airborne CH that has a lip on it to redirect the gases.

The huge issue is I believe would be something like head spacing which is fucking critical. If you have a too tight of a chamber look up you could share logs off you can have a sloppy bolt carrier and have extreme pressure fluctuations between rounds firing which you do not want when you’re old is Park we had to bass with the BCG having cycling issue pounds basically you could have a high and barrel but if you’re just buying for example a bolt carrier group it’s not the boat itself isn’t matched to anything barrel extension and even if it’s the same company barrel and they’re using it on at like their cup their own companies barrels and their barrel extension they’re still gonna be a variance widely in every extension personally that my beliefs and what I’ve noticed so I get a barrel with the head spaced bolt and then you use the carrier and maybe if the head spacing on the bolt carrier is good and not sloppy not leaning to one side to the other side OK I would use it but buying a $300 BCG not knowing if it is a really strong bolt it’s gonna fucking be properly headspace is a huge issue and it should be a huge issue for everyone know this guy may have a new one but he does not know that he’s going to work in any of his rifles for example like I have a random wife I’m not gonna mention the company but it’s the reputable and it’s sleek chrome polished who’s carpenter 158+ the bolt most companies when you buy a barrel had to go through maybe 50 bolts Defined a matching bolt that headspace is best for you you were barrel extension on the barrel and most high-end companies now I consider them a high end in triggers rail systems you know I mean yes they got the URG contract but that’s a collaboration of different companies so I love their shit I’ve seen unmatched receivers stats even and the price they say those bad rifle at a very high price it doesn’t have any doctors controls the Maritime bowl catches do work for someone like I said it’s a left-handed person but you have to think how many times have you had a carrier that feels just it’s too tight you having issues with Browns cycling you could put any round you want in in the cycle and the funny thing I put my one BCG touches that I don’t know where it is only thing I will work on was one upper oh fuck I mean I’m talking it wouldn’t work on anything and I have a lady in my one OK builds with $800 barrels to Noveske a and my just plain Jane Mehl spec stuff and his company and utilize for all of my trigger and you said buffer systems but if I didn’t know anything about headspace saying sure I would get it has DLC is what can you use the coast to phosphate it I have a faucet bowl that God God knows how many rounds are there and I shoot 800 rounds in the range today easy and that’s not a lot for me to add that up end-of-the-year that’s still a decent amount of rounds but sure with the company where if the carriers work it could be I think there’s specs on it that they’re just way too tight and I got one that was too fucked up it literally doesn’t open when what I learned in Boot Camp on the island was yes I can do you with your carrier and your boat should unlock and you could try to pretend to throw this fucker and like pull your shoulder out your socket and it does not want to move and you get out of fucking greased up like a fucking porn stars vag it had no joy

Also M855A1 is higher pressure and they’re firing in full auto. If you’re only firing 400-500 rounds a month and do that for 5 years you’ll get about 20k which is less stress on the bolt than SOCOM putting 6K in their testing. Heat kills everything

Sand will definitely 100% damage the coating. 80 hrc or not. Sand has every kind of rock you can think of in it, including....diamond and sapphire. So I REALLY dont understand why Geissele would claim sand would not hurt the coating. Such an extremely dumb claim. 🤦
I wonder why they changed the cam pin. Its actually what brought me to your video. I just got one in the mail today. Compared to my other Geissele it didnt have the same cam pin. I prefer the old cam pin design. No worries about not putting it in the same way every time. Now i have to dimple the new one to make sure. 😅

I noticed that too. The old shape must have been a pain for some people. Small bits of sand have been fed to the rifle via magazines dropping to the ground. The rifle has never had a malfunction that I didn’t cause.

Well, I miss the old design. 😅
Well, with sand it would be just the chance a hard mineral is in the bit that gets in.
For instance. Take a tempered glass screen protector that has 9h mohs. That's as hard as sapphire. Rub a handful of sand against it. I bet you it'll be scratched. 😅

It's not a new vs old design thing. The complete uppers and complete rifles come with the different cam pin. The standalone bcgs come with the more typical looking cam pin because other uppers aren't cut to work with that cam pin.
