Something I didn't quite get in this game, Augustine gets the film pieces from Linda, Madi and Stan. The film made of Murder Mill in THIS timeline. But the film she shows them at the start of the finale is the film from Sam's timeline, where Bonnie died in 1980. Something that quite obviously didn't happen here, or else Maddie wouldn't exist and Linda would not have expressed surprise at her passing due to illness nor her utter confusion and horror at the events recorded therein. Did she show them a different film? Why bother collecting their film if she didn't need it in the end? Did Linda, Madi and Stan have the pieces of Sam's timeline for some inexplicable reason? Maybe this question is answered in some other branch but if it has, I sure haven't seen it.
Maybe she needed something tied to 2024 realm to summon the entity to it? But you are 100% right with confusion. It could also be that intense emotions were needed from Madi as well since the whole point of being put on a hook is to maximize a persons emotions. Seeing the tape ensured that there was going to be emotions expressed, even is Madi doesn’t get sacrificed based on your play through?
I think what might have happened is the movie she showed was edited together from parts from multiple timelines versions of Murder Mill to get a movie that shows a perfected version of Frank. There’s also the implication that Stan might have come from Sam’s timeline, hence Sam accusing him of stealing the tape from his son and Stan recognizing the younger than he should be Sam, this only makes sense if Stan does this in every timeline (plausible) or if Stan himself also was summoned from the 1980s timeline with the Holologium. In that event one third of the movie is from the 1980s timeline where Bonnie dies, while the other 2/3 are from the 2024 timeline where Bonnie survived and had Madison.
Same, I really wish there was a point in the game where you get the chance to control Frank in order to do some of the chase sequences. That would have been hilarious.

In that scene the door stops working but there are several situations where it'll work just fine depending on if you have Madi with Linda. It's just one branch.

it really depends on who you have at the final scene, if you've had Madi accept Augustine's drink early in the game and who you chose to give the pendant to.
Well Frank either was at this point husk of his humanself and his only desire was to kill, or hold some sort of grudge for everything that happend. Entity didn't hold him back or help her, because it got what it wanted: a killer. Agustine was simply useless for him
Personally i think sam green is going to be added to dbd soon as a survivor and frank stone as killer i say this bc when you get the ending where sam is captured and "sacraficed" we never actually see him die just get taken bu the entity also if you were to keep everyone else alive and "sacrafice" sam you still get the achievement to pop for saving everyone this might just be an oversight or something in the end but imo i think thats the devs showing that sam didnt die and is still alive somewhere in the entitys realm
Question: how do you keep Sam alive to help madi? I chose to rescue Chris and keep her in 2024 but when I passed the QTEs to protect her from Frank, Sam was immediately consumed
hmm, the only way I know of to keep Madi, Sam, Linda & Chris alive is to have Stan be consumed by Frank. I am going to assume that your Stan was crushed by the contraption... I would just go back to before that point & pass the QTE. Sorry I couldn't be of much help.

madi needs to accept the drink Augustine offers her early in the game, madi needs to take the pendant, make sure to let Frank eat Stan, have Linda & Madi be together while fixing the generator, choose "Help Madi" so Linda lures Frank away while Madi goes to see Augustine. that should be it I think.
ah no problem, i actually came across that issue myself. first time I had Madi get hypnotized while saving Stan thinking that she could get hypnotized again by Augustine, but when that didn't happen I thought to myself maybe it's a one time use special power, lol.

nope, as you can see you can save a hypnotized Madi as long as Sam has access to his gun.
